2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Pick 39

The second round of the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft rolls along. We're having each SB Nation blogger make selections for their respective teams. Raymond St. Martin, lead blogger at SB Nation's Oakland Raiders blog, Silver and Black Pride, checks in to make the No. 39 overall selection in this year's mock. Take it away, sir!

With the No. 39 overall pick in the 2010 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft, the Oakland Raiders have selected Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland.

Raymond St. Martin says: Sorry, this blogger did not send in a write-up.

Mocking Dan reacts: After selecting Bryan Bulaga with the eighth pick, I was really surprised by this choice. Both come with a lot of risk – particularly Campbell. Although he fits the Oakland mold perfectly, the Raiders have way too many needs to go with offensive tackles with their first two picks.

Mocking the Draft's Top 5 remaining prospects: 1 - Jonathan Dwyer/RB/Georgia Tech, 2 - Damian Williams/WR/USC, 3 - Rob Gronkowski/TE/Arizona, 4 - Brandon Spikes/LB/Florida, 5 - Chad Jones, S, LSU

Sound off, SB Nation! What say you of the Raiders' selection of Campbell? Please be sure to check out Silver and Black Pride for all of your Raiders needs.

and I was starting to hope he'd slip to the Pats..

Very surprised they went with two OTs, I would have been tempted to take Spikes or Jones here.

2 OTs...

"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

the Raiders have a lot invested in Russell

investing in two superb bookend prospects to protect him could at least delay the inevitable of having to pay another top 5 QB the bank.

Bulaga at RT and Campbell at LT would be a great duo if they both were to pan out.

This mock is debacled. No way Al Davis touches Bryan Bulaga. He is small, slow and has short arms. Campbell will go #8 almost certainly.

"Smokescreen."

not only that

did you see his 40 time? second fastest ever for an OL. makes it a gimme for Al Davis.

NO "OT" @ #8

You need to understand "MrD"s philosophy….He would never take the 2nd best player at any position this high in the draft regardless of need…Look to another position if the “OT” n “DT” have already come off the board…“CB” n “DE” or “LB” are possibilities as is “WR” but I doubt we go there with this crop because the top isn’t that great…
