Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Morning NFL Draft links to click

The 2010 draft may have wrapped up a week ago today, but the news cycle is ongoing. Here are some stories from this week that piqued my interest:

NFP: Wes Bunting takes a look at five players who benefited in the draft from a good showing at the scouting combine. His first player is new Texans running back Ben Tate. I didn't really change around Tate's draft positioning due to the combine. But on the field, you can see how good of a runner he is. Others Bunting talks about are Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, Mike Neal, Chris Cook and Keenan Clayton.

MoveTheSticks: Former Ravens and Browns scout Daniel Jeremiah offers his final thoughts on this year's draft. He was a fan of how the NFC West teams drafted. With Seattle and San Francisco both having two first-round picks, it's easy to see why.

SBNation: Andrew Sharp looks at the inexact science of the NFL Draft. The best franchises in the NFL stay that way because they know how to work the draft.

Star-divide

AOL Fanhouse: Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland may not be to blame for his bad questioning of Dez Bryant. The entire NFL may be. Good thinker story from Terrance Moore. Go in open minded, though.

Baltimore Beatdown: A look at defensive tackle Arthur Jones, wide receiver David Reed and offensive tackle Ramon Harewood, whom Baltimore all took in later rounds. I like Jones the most, but it's hard to not be intrigued by Harewood who is 6-foot-7 and 350 pounds.

Associated Press: Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is back at ground zero as a rookie. "I've got to build myself back up," Suh told reporters. Better news? Suh is vowing not to be a holdout.

USA Today: Who are the best draft decision makers? Writer Nate Davis' 1A is Bill Belichick. His 1B is Scott Pioli. Interestingly, he rates Raiders owner Al Davis as the 19th best draft decision maker in the league. Kind of odd. Great read, though, if you have some time.

Salt Lake Tribune: Quietly, Utah had six players taken in this year's draft. Did you know that? I knew they had a few, but not that many. None of them may be superstars, but guys like Robert Johnson, Zane Beadles and Koa Misi are very solid players.

should be number 1 in the best draft decision makers. They guy finds contributors in every round. When is the last time Belichick did that.

He is good

but my vote would go to Ozzie Newsome Every year he seems to make the best picks & trades.

Agreed

I’d move Newsome up to 1 and bump those 3 ahead of him down. Ozzie masters the draft like no other.
