Nebraska's Amukamara gets top draft grade
The grades are leaking out from the National Scouting Service meetings in May.
According to Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout, Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara was given the top grade, beating out Iowa defensive lineman Adrian Clayborn and Boston College outside linebacker Mark Herzlich.
For what it's worth, we have Amukamara rated as the 10th best draft-eligible player in the nation.
National Scouting Service provides teams with scouting reports and rankings on the nation's top players. The May meetings ranked seniors only. Teams pay National for their service and, in exchange, also have to let the service use one of the team's scouts.
The other league-wide is Blesto. Some teams use National, some Blesto and a few neither.
Obviously since it's done in May, the rankings should be taken with a grain of salt.
Last year, the top-rated player by National was Mississippi defensive end Greg Hardy. He went undrafted and was signed was taken in the sixth round by the Carolina Panthers. In 2008, National rated Georgia Tech defensive end Michael Johnson as the best senior draft prospect in the nation. Cincinnati took him in the third round.

I’d love to know how fast Amukamara timed at his junior pro day. At this point, my biggest concern about him is his long speed, which could get tested more now that Suh’s no longer spearing Big 12 QBs.
Also, the team will be breaking in two new starting safeties, so the over the top help may not always be there (or there on time).
You got great

Thanks, dudes.
I’m glad you guys enjoy the clips. At this point, I don’t really have any concrete plans, but it looks like Dontay Moch (DE/OLB Nevada) and Blaine Gabbert (QB Mizzou) will be next.
I’ll try to get to Sands sometime this summer.
Looking
Forward to the Gabbert one.

Minor error
Greg Hardy wasn’t an undrafted free agent, he was drafted by the Panthers in the 6th round.
Thanks. I was looking at his contract status by mistake.
Mocking the Draft: Talking NFL Draft all year.
I heard through the grapevine that Hardy suddenly got very motivated last summer when he got to check out Peria Jerry & Michael Oher’s new Cadillacs. I’m not sure if the story’s true or not, but it’s hilarious either way.
