Season Predictions: 1 of 8

Well, the season is now upon us so I think it is time for people to start thinking about the end of the season. No? All right yea it is way early but I started this actually a couple months ago but then my computer lost them so here I am again. Welcome to the first part of a 8 part series that will look at all four divisions and where I think they will be when we get to the playoffs.

Follow me after the jump and we will get started...

Star-divide

NFC WEST

TEAM: Seahawks

RECORD: 8-8 : Win the Division (barely)

REASON: I don't think one is needed they will just be glad to see this lol. Anyway they are young and have a lot of pieces that it takes to go to the playoffs. There big question mark is a QB because no one knows how he will do however, the whole division is weak in this area. I think youth in this case will get them in as this is the weakest division in the league at this point.

TEAM: Cardinals

RECORD: 7-9 ; No Playoffs

REASON: They are in a tough spot having just lost there (potentially) HOF QB. Now they have a QB they benched cause he couldn't produce with a weak arm. They do have the O-line to be able to be successful on that side of the ball though but think they all drop in performance this year. Defense is average.

TEAM: 49ers

RECORD: 7-9 ; No Playoffs ; could see them getting one more win and maybe making it.

REASON: This result isn't going to be popular with everyone and I can understand and think they could do better. However as much offensive talent as they have they got one very important hole and that is them not having a good QB. There Defense is pretty good and moving the right direction but a team with a receiver like Vincent Jackson or Fitzgerald, Larry.

TEAM: Rams

RECORD: 3-13 ; No Playoffs

REASON: I like what this team is trying to do and think that they made a good pick in Sam Bradford. However, with a very dismal O-line I can't see them doing much of anything this year, though give them three wins as I think they have enough offensive talent that against some of the other weak teams they play they will pull out a few wins.

If it's deemed spam, it gets deleted.

Interesting.

I think San Fran has enough weapons to offset Alex Smiths lack of talent, along with a strong defense. With that in mind….

SF: 9-7

Smith’s supporting cast and the ineptitude of the rest of the division will make up for his lack of ability.

ARI: 6-10

I think their losses on defense and offense catch up to them. However, they do still have some talent, and their defense is average enough to keep them in games. I just see an average team here

STL: 5-11

They have some holes, but they do have enough pieces to pull out a few upsets.

SEA: 2-14

I do not see a very good team here. I don’t like their QB situation, their run game looks average, their receiving corps is bordering on downright poor, and their OL doesn’t scare me. On defense, I like their LBing corps, but they have some questions defending the pass. Both the secondary and pass rush have some serious questions. I see a division bottom feeder here, potentially in the running for #1 overall.

Ready for 2010 football already!!!

We beat the 49ers at least once

SF: 9-7
ARI: 7-9
SEA: 3-13
STL: 2-14

Frisco should get in double digit wins

there’d have to be a bunch of injuries for them not to win the division with ease.

I think your overrating Seattle

QB is there only question mark? Well besides the fact that most teams with question mark QB’s suck, I would disagree with that being there only question mark. I think San Fran is a much better team then you give them credit for, due to both strength all around a relatively weak QB and a weak division. Cardinals are a tough team to predict, so I can’t disagree with that, and St. Louis still sucks and a 3 win season would be a miracle.

I'd probably go with San Fran

If they’re still doing the spread, Alex Smith has a chance of being decent

If Troy, Harrison and Woodley are on top of their game, that is good for 9 wins right there, regardless of what is going on with their offense. - Mr MaLoR 28/6/10

SF 10 – 6
Ari 9 – 7
Sea 5 – 11
St. L 4 – 12
I think SF & Ari. split & sweep the other 2, SF gets plastered in the playoffs ( for all I know tho, St. Lou. might win the SB lol )

Seattle is my dark horse for worst team in the league this upcoming year. They have questions at just about every position.

San Fran will win this division by 3 games.

Let the beasting begin.

interesting dark horse lol

they’re my dark horse to not suck this year because they had a fantastic draft

people are going to be offended, but I’m calling the Jags to fail this year and becoming 2009 Ram-like where their RB is their only valuable offensive player

by vitzeng on Aug 22, 2010 4:43 AM EDT up reply actions

I don’t think anybody would be offended. The Jags do seem like a team that is trending down. Great draft aside, there’s only so much one can do to improve a team as horrible as the Seahawks in one year. Remember KC had a great draft 2 years ago and they still were pretty bad.

Let the beasting begin.

WOW!

If Seattle wins this division, then I’ll be asking you for lotto numbers! Seriously, I’d be shocked if they even hit the over on half the total you expect…

I see Seattle, Zona, and STL all drafting in the top 10 while San Fran has double digit wins.
