Ranking the 2007 QB draft against 2002

With the news that Kevin Kolb lost his starting spot for the time being, I went back to look at the QB's that were drafted with him in 2007: not pretty. I then started comparing the 2007 draft against some other drafts this decade and found 2002 was equally terrible. Let's compare the top 10 in each draft:

2007

1) JaMarcus Russell

22) Brady Quinn

36) Kevin Kolb

40) John Beck

43) Drew Stanton

92) Trent Edwards

103) Isaiah Stanback

151) Jeff Rowe

174) Troy Smith

205) Jordan Palmer

2002

1) David Carr

3) Joey Harrington

32) Patrick Ramsey

81) Josh McCown

108) David Garrard

117) Rohan Davey

137) Randy Fasani

158) Kurt Kittner

163) Brandon Doman

164) Craig Nall

Not very good drafts for QBs. I know it is still a bit early for Kolb seemingly, but the actions of the Eagles suggest otherwise. The others speak for themselves. Which do you think was the worse draft?

I voted for the 07 draft

Carr was atleast decent until the sacks started to roll up. Thhe 07 draft? yuck.

I'm getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.

There isn't a clear cut winner

but with the whole Kolb thing going on, 2007 was a worse class.

2007

None of those 2nd round QBs belonged there. In 2002, some of those guys may have done better with better teams.

JaMarcus

gives new meaning to the phrase “3 & out”.

I absolutely HATE having to watch so much Tennessee Oiler football.

2007.

at least Carr and McCown have at least been OK backups, Garrad is a decent starter.

2007 has no one. Kolb might be good, who knows. But other then Edwards showing a pulse a few years ago, Troy Smith to me deserving a shot…the rest simply suck.

Imagine if the Raiders drafted Brady Quinn instead of Jamacus? Yeesh.

I thought Fasani would be solid. Oops.

i voted for 2007

David Garrard is the best QB from either draft. how sad is that?

Some people think outside the box. Some people think inside the box. Me? I got kicked out of the box, and they won't let me back in.

Thisreminds me ofthat episode of South Park

Where they had to choose between the sh*t sandwich and the giant douche.

The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. Lastly, her wonderlic score was pretty awful, answering "meow meow meow" for most of the questions- Dr. Brackish Okun
