thoughts on Blaine Gabbert ?!
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are about Gabbert's pro potential.
He has the size and a big arm, was Missouri's first 5 star recruit, playing in an offense similar to Sam Bradfords. Lots of talk about Mallett and all the Pac 10 QBs but I kinda like what I have seen so far from Gabbert.

He is 6 foot 5, 235 and threw for 3,593 yds last yr as a Soph. is everything former Tiger star Chase Daniels was not; big and strong armed with the ability to make all the throws. Gabbert has terrific pocket presence, powers the ball into targets and gets the pass into the tight spots. He easily dives the deep ball and does a terrific job commanding the offense. Gabbert also lacks polish and his poor accuracy is worrisome. He constantly has receivers leaving their feet to make the reception, does not display a sense of timing and makes poor throws under the rush.

I think he is legit and the best QB in college football.
His size, arm strength, accuracy, and athleticism for his size are top notch.
His only weakness right now is pocket presence. He gets happy feet and starts breaking outside the pocket when he can just stay in there and step up.
Of course we need to see him in a pro-style type offense but i don’t think that will be a big deal.
If you are building a QB from scratch you want him to be like Blaine Gabbert.
Plus over Luck, Locker, Mallet?
Any Qb that has happy feet, is inaccurate, doesn’t exhibit skills under center, and makes poor throws when rushed is not the best QB in college football.

I would say Mallet could be better than him.
but i think Locker and Luck are overrated.
Pocket presence?
Lack of accuracy? These are 2 HUGE things you want in a young QB.
Gabbert’s lucky if he’s a 1st rounder.

Gabbert's probably the most overrated player in college football.
Strong arm, good size…that’s great. His accuracy sucks, which is basically doom for him.
Ryan Mallet worked on his and seems to be a very accurate passer at all levels now. But Gabbert still isn’t in that class.
He’s a lot like Josh Freeman.

since every time he doesn't throw a dump pass?

That is probably the dumbest thing ive ever heard you say. Considering all the stupid crap you have posted, that says something. Gabbertss completing almost 70% of his passes. You praise mallet’s accuracy, even though his completion % is almost identical to Gabberts. I will say Mallett is the more polished passer right now, but he also has 2 more years of expierence. Mallet will be a top QB in this class, along with Luck. Next year it will be Gabbert and Barkley. BTW, he is nothing like Josh Freeman. That is so dumb.
Did you know Eric Berry was asexually produced by Chuck Norris?
I would say he is a more polished QB than Josh Freeman
but i do see some similarities there, that isn’t really a bad thing.
Plus Gabbert protects the football.
Gabbert had a terrible game.
But so did Locker who i think is overrated and his accuracy looked terrible. I seriously don’t know what football you are watching if you say Gabbert’s accuracy sucks..probably not many Missouri games.
He has hated on Gabbert for awhile
Truth is, this article is wrong. Accuracy is not his problem. He lacks pocket presence. Not so much last year but this year he has happy feet. Gabbert can thread the needle though. He is completing 68.2% of his passes. He has only played in 2 full games due to the tigers being up by so much in the McNesse st and Miami game and he has already thrown for 1000+ yards. I doubt Gabbert comes out this year though. He needs one more year in college. He needs to learn to step up into the pocket and throw the ball, instead of running outside the pocket. However, he has proven he can throw on the run this year.
