Around SBN: NFL Owners Vote to Change Trade Deadline

It's NFL Draft declaration day. See who's in and who we're waiting on

Will Georgia's Justin Houston be in or out of the 2011 NFL Draft? (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

It is 2011 NFL Draft declaration deadline day with underclassmen having (I believe) until 4 p.m. Eastern to submit their paperwork.

If my count is correct, there are 51 juniors or redshirt sophomores currently declared for the draft. Find that list after the jump. After that, declared players have 72 hours to rescind their declaration if they haven't signed with an agent. The NFL releases the full list of players on Jan. 19.

Last season, 53 underclassmen entered the 2010 NFL Draft. That number tied a record for most underclassmen in the draft. A lot of people have been saying in the comments that not a lot of underclassmen are entering the draft, but this number would be about normal. In 2009, 46 declared. In 2008, there were 53.

We are still waiting to get word on the following bigger names:

Nigel Bradham | OLB | Florida State
George Bryan | TE | North Carolina State
Quinton Coples | DE/DT | North Carolina
Michael Egnew | TE | Missouri
Justin Houston | DE/OLB | Georgia

On Friday, Texas A&M star wide receiver Jeff Fuller announced he was returning for his senior season. Alabama safety Mark Barron announced today he was coming back.

Note: I'm going out and won't be back until late tonight. Please update readers in the comments with anything that develops. The most interesting story will be Houston. He was heavily considering going pro but has reportedly spent a lot of time talking with Georgia head coach Mark Richt about his decision.

Kenny Tate declared? Can’t find that anywhere.

I was eleven when Elway made the "leap" in Super Bowl XXXII, but I like to think that's still the moment I was conceived. Go Broncos!

Kenny Tate has not declared to my knowledge.

I will inform you if he does.

Dear Passionate fan, I know you are passionate, but please reply with a logical answer or I will ignore you.

The only ones reporting it now that I can find is sports illustrated

He’s on their list of declared underclassmen. Bleacher report took him off of their list as a result of my inquiry, stating that he’d seen it himself on a couple lists. Funny how these things can snowball.

LaMichael James is supposedly having second thoughts about entering the draft so I guess don’t be surprised if he enters. He may have just said he was going back so he wouldn’t be bothered leading up to The Natty. I hope he doesn’t leave but RB is one of the positions where the Ducks can take a hit.

He was thinking about it but decidedd to stay after all

The last thing I heard reported on truth and rumors. The title of that site speaks for itself.

Judging by my strange posting times, you’d think not. But that’s the beauty of having an iPad and sometimes annoying acquaintances.

Alright so if Dan is right that is all the people declaring this year.

Were going to have a good senior class next year still especially at WR which appears good for next few years.

If he last till the second

he won’t last long. Lots of the teams picking early are 34 Ds in need of an OLB.

by rws591 on Jan 15, 2011 9:13 PM EST up reply actions

I'm not sure he makes it out of the first

Jet’s, Chiefs, Ravens, Pats, Packers are all picking later and it can be said all have OLB needs

(And I’d love to have him on the Chiefs)

Cassel out, Andrew Luck in!
