Villanova's Matt Szczur chooses baseball over football
First broke on Twitter by Tony Pauline, Villanova wide receiver Matt Szczur will not pursue a career in football.
Szczur received $1.5 million to play in the outfield for the Chicago Cubs. Because he's going to play baseball, Szczur will not be participating in the Senior Bowl this year.
As far as the draft goes, this is just another blow to the weakening wide receiver class. Szczur is a good-sized receiver and excellent after the catch. He lined up all over the field and could have been a good gadget player.
Szczur's decision has a positive impact on Kentucky's Randall Cobb, who is another do-everything threat on offense.

Hard to blame him for that decision.
He can probably have a way longer career in baseball. And he can always try to come back to football later like a lot of other guys who are drafted into the MLB do.

Sorta surprised.
I wonder if locker falls out of the first and falls like Clausen (don’t think it will happen) if he will just quite football and go with Baseball as he did sign a contract thing with the Angels before his senior year.

Hmm forgot about that.
I’m goinna guess he really just likes football better, he would have to go really down the board for him to think that.
Hopefully my picture doesn't show my bias.
