NFL Stars of the Week - Week 6

This week was a terrible week for offensive performers. So bad that I only gave two honorable mentions. However, the defense more than made up for it, with numerous people have incredible games.

Star-divide

Offensive Stars

Star No. 1 - Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, New York Giants - Bradshaw had a phenomenal game, rushing for over 100 yards and having 3TDs.

Star No. 2 - Michael Turner, RB, Atlanta Falcons - Turner had his best game of the season, carrying the Falcons to victory with 140 yards and 2 TDs.

Star No. 3 - Fred Jackson, RB, Buffalo Bills - Jackson continued his reign of dominance this season, with over 150 total yards and 1 TD.

Honorable Mentions: Rashard Mendenhall, Aaron Rodgers, Frank Gore

Defensive Stars

Star No. 1 - Darrelle Revis, CB, New York Jets - Despite getting consistently burned by Brandon Marshall, giving up over 100 yards, Revis made two big splash plays, taking one 100 yards to the house.

Star No. 2 - Kurt Coleman, S, Philadelphia Eagles - Coleman dominated Sexy Rexy, picking him off three times and finishing with 7 tackles.

Star No. 3 - Corey Webster, CB, New York Giants - Webster had a phenomenal day reading Ryan Fitzpatrick, finishing with 2 INTs and 5 tackles.

Honorable Mentions: Calvin Pace, Aldon Smith, OJ Atogwe, Brett Keisel, LaMarr Woodley, Andre Carter, Demarcus Ware, Julius Peppers, Aaron Maybin

Dud of the Week: Rex Grossman, QB, Washington Redskins - Sexy Rexy just did not have it this week. He threw for just 143 yards and 4 INTs and got benched in favor of John Beck. How embarrassing is that?

Poor Aldon

2 sacks 1 FF 1 Safety 1 PD and 4 tackle was not enough to make him into the listing

those multi INT games are hard to beat.

As my coach, Coach Toal says, "if your tougher than them and you play harder than them and you whoop their a** but only win by six, I don’t give a s**t. You still won the game. The media might not like it but we don’t give a f**k about the media, all we care about is winning."

Ya I have to agree

just seems sad. Stafford threw him a ball but he got surprised and dropped it which is why he got a PD instead of an INT but winning ROTW will make me feel a little better. He just started playing a lot of snaps 3 weeks ago and he already racked up 5.5 sacks.

Frank Gore doesn't get a mention?

142 yards 1 TD on 15 carries. That 9+ YPC

Revis didn't give up 100 yards.

Marshall’s 40 yard play where he inexplicably ran out of bounds was on Cro.

well I apologize then. He was still not himself in coverage. Was lucky that that first INT

the ball was thrown right at him instead of to the wide open Marshall

Ahmad Bradshaw is the one you choose????

All 3 of his TDs were basically goal line runs and all because of some BS overturning an Eli TD. He should’ve had at least 3 passing TDs if his WRs hold onto the ball, reach for the goal line or based on replay don’t have their knee down.

AB is my boy, but he has no business being acknowledged as the Giants star of that game. He had 20 carries, 54 yards and those 3 TDs before he rattled off some nice carries on that final drive to set up the FG

I can only look at box scores as I have said before, and on the boxscore he was very impressive

He was the top fantasy RB and the top fantasy player in some formats. With a less than impressive week on the offensive side, that was good enough to be the #1 star.

The same could be said about Jackson

One long run, then not much else. Bradshaw at least converted the 3 TDs.

Rules are the rules. Manningham gets 0 TDs.

No mention for Andrew Whitworth?

Jeez only skillplayers get the love. How about blanking Dwight Freeney? Not one sack, one pressure, not even one tackle.

No, Offensive Linemen will never get on here. How the hell am I supposed to decide who had a good game?

I could say that Jonathan Scott had a great game since he let up 0 sacks and just 1 pressure. See what I mean? And it would make this take way to much time. As it is, it takes me 20 to 30 minutes to complete. If I had to look at all the offensive linemen’s “stats” it could take over two hours.

I see what you mean..

But Whit blanked one of the best pass rushers of the last decade. Not even 1 pressure. That’s the kind of game that puts a player in the ProBowl. I understand what you’re saying, entirely, I just wish the man would get attention.

Corey Webster had stats this week

Better yet were the stats he has held Stevie Johnson, Sidney Rice, and Larry Fitzgerald to in the last 3 weeks in man coverage. Delete the one 50-50 long jump ball that Fitzgerald caught, all three combined had 130 yards.

And this is why the Redskins are a bad franchise

You’re team is in 2nd place in the division and the QB has a bad game and you freak out and bench him for the next start. I’ve never been a big fan of Grossman, but that is just a fucking stupid move. There goes the Redskins season, flushing down the bowel like a turd.
