Green Bay Mock Draft
Green Bay Is Unstoppable, No Doubt about it
Heres a Mock Draft For them
Round 1: Brandon Jenkins OLB Florida State-Everyone Opposite Of Clay Matthews Hasnt Been able to give any help for Matthews and he is going to suffer if no one helps provide the pressure on opposing QB'sRound 2: TJ McDonald S USC- Need help at Safety, Nick Collins doesnt look like he can play after that injury, but it is only a matter of time having more depth is better than not having any at all
Round 3: Mike Brewster C Ohio State- Providing more healthy body to protect Aaron Rodgers in the long haul will affect how this team play, so getting an interior linemen who can do that can help benefit your Franchise QB
Round 4: Trumaine Johnson DB Montana- Charles Woodson isnt getting any longer, they can get a little more depth at this position besides Johnson can play S and CB
Round 5: Ryan Lindley QB San Diego State- Back-up QB or even a PS player, he can be the Next Matt Flynn In this Offense
Round 6: Trevor Guyton DE California- Need more bodies in the Front D-line, always seems like someone is always hurting on the line
Round 7: Alex Hoffman OT Cincinnati- This pick just made our O-line more Stronger, doesnt need to start but can compete and be on the PS to build himself to be a better player in the future
Feedbacks and opinions would be great, and thanks for dropping by to look at the mock draft

how on earth are you guys going to get TJ McDonald at the end of the 2nd round
assuming you guys keep up your pace (even if you bomb the rest of the season, you’ll have mid-late pick). I see Mark Barron going before him then TJ McDonald being in early 2nd – I think some people will just like the fact that he plays for USC and he’ll have a great combine
This Type Of Draft
Is what keeps teams competitive for years. Solid and well thought throughout.
I would like this draft, it's tough to project safeties to them,
None of us really know much about Collins’ injury right now. If we knew for sure his career is done, then the Pack would certainly take a safety like McDonald there. There’s also a fair chance the surgery/rehab goes well and he’s back on the field. Yet, articles like this one give me chills.
-Love Jenkins in the 1st round.
-McDonald like I said, depends on Collins but he’s talented and at the end of the 2nd, that’s value.
-Brewster I don’t expect to fall that far but if he’s there, yes.
-Trumaine Johnson, I’d rather take a real corner than a CB/S split or whatever if we already got one S. But we just took a developmental CB last yr in the same round, Davon House, so maybe DL or a RB here.
-Lindley, I’ll take a developmental QB, Flynn likely gone.
- Last 2 picks are fine, but I think we’ll get a RB at some point in the draft, would make sense here.
Is Royce Da 5'9" actually 5'9"? The world may never know.

Very very optimistic
I think you kind of fell into the trap that most people do when predicting their own team’s draft, which is…you let players fall who you want who probably won’t fall that far. McDonald, probably the number one or two rated FS in the late third. Brewster, first or second center off the board. If for some reason character issues come up and they do fall to y’all, that would be an incredible draft, but that feels like a big if right now.
OLB
Has to be our first round pick. I think our defense has suffered a lot from the lack of pressure. When teams can’t focus on Clay Matthews this D will be nasty.
I like picking up a safety in the second with Nick Collins future in question.
I would like for us to go Defensive line in the third or fourth. Mike Neal has quite a few injury problems and Cullen Jenkins has shown a big hole in our defensive line.
I like O-line depth and grabbing a corner later in the draft.
Meh, I don't think any position HAS to be our #1 round pick
I think the best player or deal needs to be our #1 round pick. It’s just the way the Packer role, and that’s why they have built a dynamic young core of players. For example, last year I bet we all would of said that we need to draft an OLB well before they need to draft a WR, but would any Packer fan trade Randall Cobb for the world?

Exactly. That’s why GB has been so good in the draft. TT takes the best available player and MM makes them work.
I agree a pass-rusher is the top need. Either along the line or on the second level. Hopefully a kick-ass pass-rusher is one of the top players available at the end of the first.

The Packers don't comepletely ignore need though.
no team does, at least not in the first round. Besides Aaron Rodgers, if you go back and look most of our picks were to fill needs we have. For example Dez Bryant was clearly the best player available in 2010 yet we took Bryan Bulaga. We took B.J. Raji and Clay Matthews to fill our need in switching to a 3-4. Now it just so happens that some years the BPA falls close to one of our needs but i would have to disagree they don’t consider need when making their first round pick.
Also when i said OLB has to be our first round pick that is assuming someone will be there worthy of the pick, obviously you don’t reach too far.
Need is always included.
It just worked out that all of those guys were not only needs, but were also among the best players available at those spots. The same thing this last year with Sherrod. Like I said, I do expect a pass-rusher in the first. But A) that doesn’t have to be an OLB and B) I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if we go another direction.

That's why I don't say BPA but rather value
Value seems to dictate the Packers draft more than anything. So value takes need into account, but it also takes the facts on the ground and who is exactly on the board. That’s why you are right that players taken were typically fitting needs, but it’s that value that separates out a player like Dez Bryant versus Bryan Bulaga.
Bryant had red flags all around him leading up to the draft. People weren’t sure about his practice habits or if there would be any off the field problems that would follow him into the NFL. He was a raw talent at WR though. Bulaga was projected to be a top 10 pick by many and the only knock on him was that he had short arms and may not be able to play LT.
The Packers value the work ethic of their players about as much as the raw talents they bring. TT famously called them Packer People when he first came to GB. The need at tackle, the red flags surrounding Bryant made, and generally high rating on Bulaga made the value choice clear.
Same with Matthews. When the Packers were sitting at 9 that year the value choice was Raji based on the athleticism he brought as a big man. Typically you can’t find that later in the draft typically. TT did also think the world of Matthews, and so when he saw him slipping made the choice to trade back up to get him because of the value he saw in that deal. You could also make the same case for Morgan Burnett. Not as noteable a trade up, but it was a guy TT saw as a playmaker and in the draft position he saw about right and giving up the picks to get that play maker.

Let me put it a different way then.
We have to upgrade our other OLB spot and the best way to do that would be with a first round pick.
It probably will be....
The trick is that we need to see the facts on the ground first. Who is there in the first versus the talent pool and the value the player can bring to the team.
