If the Panthers are sitting at 2 (and dont trade down)

We’re taking Kalil, now if we trade I would look for Zach Brown or a playmaker in Claiborne

You're on top of it today 94!

Just coming to say that.

Other Points:
- Thompson in the 2nd would be great, or worthy, got to admit I am hoping Ta’amu slips to them. Fits as the big run stopper.
- Spence is a good pick in the 4th round

by tarheels24 on Nov 25, 2011 12:01 PM EST up reply actions

Thank you

+1 I would look more for Ta’amu because he fits the need more as a NT. But I would not be mad getting Thompson at all

I could see Kalil

but i just get a feeling Blackmon will win out. I know they have invested a number of picks recently in WR, but that was before Rivera.

Rivera loves LaFell and Gettis(the WR's)

If Kalil is on the board, then they won’t pass on him. Jeff Otah is injury prone, and Jordan Gross is on the wrong side of 30. The Panthers need O-line help

Uh...

Why is the pick for the Bengals Te’o and the write-up is about DeCastro? DeCastro would be an awesome pick. Te’o, not so much.

by sexsalad on Nov 25, 2011 11:19 AM EST reply actions

oops my bad

had DeCastro for them then switch it out

Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com

by Steve Shoup on Nov 25, 2011 3:55 PM EST up reply actions

Switch it back to DeCastro :)

Te’o would be good value at that spot but Guard is a top need for this team. Not sure a LB would be taken by the Bengals in the first, though there is a lot of value at that spot.

A couple of points

1)Kinda annoying to have to go elsewhere to see your full 5 rounds.

As for the Jags picks
1)Prefer going CB, namely Claiborne, but assuming Jeffery has a good predraft workout season, I would not oppose this pick too much.
2)I do not like the pick at all. Jags took an OG last year and already have guys on the roster to contribute on the line. I go WR, speicifcally Sanu or Jones with the selection
3)Like the pick, although Vinny Curry I think is better so I take him.
4)Why do the Jag draft a RB when they could go and get a guy like Molk or Criner, or even Broyles? Just a bad pick on this one.
5)No idea who he is, but I would take Reynolds out of BYU to present another option to taake over RT and allow Eben Britton to move inside to OG

sorry man, i worked pretty hard on it not going to post it all here

appreciate the feedback. I think considering what they spent on Gabbert (pick wise) they should try to ensure his success which is why I went fairly offensive heavy. Otherwise Gabbert will never succeed.

I like all of the Steelers' draft picks

althought I would like an OLB at one point.

Giants - I LOVE KONZ

At this point I would see it being very difficult for the Giants to skip Konz if he is on the board. He is exactly what they like in an OL, and they are strongly feeling their poor OL play.

The reason Rolle has been playing poorly is because he has been playing nickel CB due to injuries (we just put our 4th or 5th CB on IR). However, Barron is not a bad pick because he fits our system well and Rolle could be a cap casualty. Although I’m eyeing Dwight Jones at that spot too.

The other picks are good too and fit our team. I really like Tandy in the 5th to play nickel CB.

Thanks for the feedback

Yeah Konz makes too much sense for them to pass up. I’ve just felt Rolle is a bit overrated (esp. at that price), though if Manningham leaves I could see them going WR (esp another one from UNC)

Broncos

like the first pick,

like the 2nd pick, same as mine in my last mock. Although with Poe and Short available, I think Denver would may consider going for either one of those guys, it would certainly be a tough decision.

I’m not huge on Lucas Nix, I guess it’d be a meh pick for me. If we draft an OL, I’d hope for it to be an RT and then kick Franklin over to LG, killing to needs with one pick. By going OG though we still are a little shaky at RT.

I wouldn’t complain going QB in round 4, and as for the 5th rounder not too familiar with the guy but we could use more CB help even if we go CB round one, so yeah I’m cool with that.

Still doubt Tebow?

by DBroncs1414 on Nov 25, 2011 2:19 PM EST reply actions

Same here.

I like adding depth to the o-line though. After CB and RB, the broncos should look for o-line and d-line depth. Especially o-line depth, it’s scary thin there.

by tiderfootball09 on Nov 25, 2011 3:03 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed about depth

But by going for a real RT we improve RT, LG, and Beadles could be solid depth

Still doubt Tebow?

by DBroncs1414 on Nov 25, 2011 5:29 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

thanks for the feedback

I can see why you suggest going RT, that’s a really good point.

Bengals

I dont think we need a LB, we need a DB and an OG,and WR pick was great

We were ready to go with Muckelroy before his injury at the SAM backer

We also took Moch in the 3rd last year. Of course there’s also the possibility that Lawson is resigned. Just saying.

Ravens

The only pick that I have a real problem with is the 2nd round pick. I think that the Ravens would take either C Ben Jones (C being one of the bigger needs with Birk likely to retire) or Jared Crick as BPA and to replace Cory Redding.

by drd23 on Nov 25, 2011 5:37 PM EST reply actions

Rams

I like the draft overall its pretty good. Kalil in the first or blackmon is ideal as of right now.
2nd: I think I like Sanu better than Toon
3rd: good pick, I don’t think we will go cb first or second on cb especially since we have a pretty good cb corps coming back next season
4th: I think could be spent on DT but I understand the pick. A change of pace back would do wonders for the offense that McD has set up here.
Overall, good job

Chiefs

Burfict
Tannehill
Potter

I would be very happy with those first 3 picks.

by Jonathan Hake on Nov 25, 2011 10:25 PM EST reply actions

Pretty great for Carolina

I believe the team would go with Kalil over Blackmon, but other than that, I love it. Thompson in the 2nd would be great, I love Sean Spence and getting him in the 4th is very good, and bringing in Allen to compete w/ Martin and Godfrey would be a good move.

by Ol' Uncle Munnerlyn on Nov 26, 2011 12:53 AM EST reply actions

I hope Luck stiffs the Colts.

The Colts not putting in a waiver claim for Orton proves they are trying to lose. Polian is a fake. The Colts don’t deserve Luck.

Interesting you have Upshaw falling to the last pick. I don’t think that happens.

More interesting you have Fluker coming out. That would mildly surprise me.

Bruce Irvin willbe a bust.

Jerry is the end all in Dallas.

especially dumb because the reason they didn't have cap space

was having spent 4mil on a veteran QB already.

You make Polian look bright.

If they were in a playoff race and wanted a player they would make space. You can’t handle the truth shake. Your team is a sham. Polian is a fake and set the team up to lose. And you love the losing hoping to get Luck. I hope Luck flips you and the team the bird.

The Colts aren’t trying. The coach is lame duck. It was Polian. All Polian. He could have interrupted this season by trying. He chose not to. You and your team both smell fishy.

Jerry is the end all in Dallas.

by football mensa on Nov 26, 2011 5:13 PM EST up reply actions

you really can't make much space in-season

veterans get their salary guaranteed by being on the roster week 1, so the only guys you can cut for space don’t make much at all.

besides. There are less than 6 weeks left in the season

Kerry Collins was terrible because he didn’t know the offense having been with the team for less than 2 months.

Bottom line is U don't want to win now. SHAM!!!

Orton is better than Collins and you know it. And uh yes they can restructure in a matter of hrs.

Loser gm and a loser franchise tanking a season to get Luck.

Jerry is the end all in Dallas.

by football mensa on Nov 27, 2011 10:08 AM EST up reply actions

Orton is better than Collins ??

He got benched for Tim Tebow….do you know how bad you have to be to get benched for the #3 guy on the depth chart ?? Kyle Orton is no longer considered to be a starting QB by anyone other than know-it-all armchair fans. There was a reason that the Broncos released him.

by ENsDad27 on Nov 27, 2011 11:26 AM EST up reply actions

At this point what would adding Orton do to help them?

They are not going to do anything this year aside from maybe knock some on out of the playoffs. Could Orton provide that much of a spark? That team is so old, and talent less, it just needs to be blown up started over. getting the 1st pick in each round is necessary for them to be competitive beyond Manning.

I'm getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.

by Steel in FL on Nov 27, 2011 3:54 PM EST up reply actions

You are clueless

No, it doesn’t prove anything. The Colts are a hopeless team right now, and Kyle Orton wouldn’t fix anything. You think he’d come in, learn the playbook right away and win games for the Colts?

Remaining schedule: Panthers, Patriots, Ravens, Titans, Texans, Jaguars.
The only winnable game is the one against Jaguars, and a win there wouldn’t change anything. They are still horrible all-round. Orton coming in would be a total waste for the Colts at so many levels. No future in him whatsoever, and the Colts know that.

I've had Upshaw going earlier in the past and I like him, but not every team needs a pass rusher

and I think he fits better in the 3-4. I think if Bama wins it all Fluker could very well come out, he’s by no means a lock but I think he’s a top 25 prospect and should come out.

I don’t know I’m a big fan of Irvin, he might not be Von Miller, but I see him being a force off the edge.

Lions

I think Mayhew would go with the #1 center (Konz) over the #5 OT. Yes, the Lions have to look for a successor to Backus, but interior OL is a bigger need.
I think in rd2 the Lions would definitely take OL over Safety. Delmas and Spievey are pretty good. Jones or Zietler should be the pick here and Mike Brewster in the 3rd.

Happier than a pig in shit that I was wrong about Matthew Stafford since 2009!
Go Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons!

by JazzyBBP on Nov 26, 2011 8:39 PM EST reply actions

Thanks for the feedback

I think they have to move Backus to RT asap (and move Cherlius inside…or maybe Backus inside). They can maybe get a decent RT in rounds 2-4, but I think it will be next to impossible to find a LT there.

Ugh... really dislike Jeffery, personally.

Claiborne/Kirkpatrick would be ideal and then maybe Jones or Sanu in the second if it shook out this way.

Also, Barrett Jones plays for Alabama, not Oklahoma.

by SilentJag on Nov 28, 2011 12:31 AM EST reply actions

Since when is the 49ers biggest need on the offensive line?

You’d think that they desperately need a guard if all you saw of them was the Ravens game or early in the season, but that was just because Chilo Rachal was in and he’s terrible. Adam Snyder is fine at RG, and the other 4 are all starters for sure going forward (Davis, the RT, is just 22, and the other three are solid to great). Sure, they need depth, but you don’t draft for depth in the 1st round. I’d rank the Niners needs like this:
1. WR 2. CB 3. OL (either a G for depth, or a T and move Davis to RG) 4. S 5. OLB (actually a position of strength, but they could go with a deeper rotation and I really can’t think of any other need).

I'm just a simple Giants fan trying to make my way in the universe.
