2012 NFL Draft order: Teams in need of QBs rising in top 10
To the casual observer, the Monday Night game between the Seahawks and Rams was inconsequential. But to NFL Draft followers, it had a strong impact on the draft. The Seahawks' win pushed them down to 14 while the Rams remain barely ahead of the Vikings for the second overall pick.
But the most noticeable thing about this week's rankings update is the teams in need of quarterback help who are rising to the top of the draft. That would be the Redskins, Browns and Dolphins. The Redskins will be the one to follow the most as they'd currently hold the fifth overall overall pick. It should be noted that while Washington and Carolina have the same overall records, the Panthers have the fourth pick because they have a worse conference record.
For those who don't know, draft order is based on win/loss percentage first. That is followed by strength schedule. If both of those are equal, division tiebreakers are accounted for teams in the same division. If they're not in the same division but the same conference, the record in the conference is used. After those criteria it goes to a coin flip.
Unlike some other sites, no opinion goes into my draft order. It is all numerical fact. When putting this together, I use the strength of schedule based on games played so far. To keep it unbiased, the order is not considering the scenario that takes place because of playoff slotting (for instance, the Giants lead the NFC East but only have an 8-5 record).
1. Indianapolis Colts - 0-13 (.550)
2. St. Louis Rams - 2-11 (.556)

more accurate order..
here’s a link to a spreadsheet the takes into account SOS of all 16 games. it’s more accurate projection of final draft slots. (eg, you show cleve drafting 6th but after they play pit and bal they’ll lose tiebreaks… they actually slot at 8 now.)
whoops, use this --> http://bit.ly/t0QdNE
following link sends you to the correct page within the workbook. http://bit.ly/t0QdNE
So teams that absolutely will NOT take a QB in the top 10 are....
STL
MIN
CAR
JAC
TB
Plus teams like IND, CLE and KC that an argument could be made either way. With what looks like 3 top 10 QBs, this could be a very interesting first round.
Go big or go home!!

Read an article that made an argument for JAX taking a QB.
I wouldn’t consider it fact, but with how bad Gabbert has been and a new owner, I suppose it could happen. As a KC fan, I’m certainly watching this scenario closely. I’ll never root for losses, but if Barkley can somehow fall into Pioli’s lap I’d be thrilled.
The top 10 will be interesting
and it will likely move around a good amount still, all these teams have fairly similar records
C'mon, join us, there's plenty of koolaid on the Broncos bandwagon for everyone!
Rams and Vikings fighting it out to "Suck for Kalil"
"Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue."
Carolina, Washington, Miami, and Jacksonville
All have the possibility of one more win. Cleveland and Tampa Bay? Unlikely. I’m guessing that Cleveland picks at #4 and TB at #5.
Seven straight losses and counting- time to go, Raheem.
