Around SBN: Watch Out For Cowboys UDFA Tim Benford

Temple vs. Wyoming; New Mexico Bowl 2011 NFL Drat watch notes

Temple junior running back Bernard Pierce is likely playing his last game today. He's ran 1,381 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, despite missing two of the team's last three games. Pierce is a bigger back at 6-foot-1, 218 pounds, but he has a long frame and could get even bigger. Pierce has nice vision and could develop into a No. 1 running back in the NFL.

Pierce benefits from running behind lead guard Derek Dennis. Dennis is a powerful guard who is better moving forward than you'd expect from someone who is 6-foot-3 and 328 pounds. He's started at both guard and tackle spots during his career and could be a nice depth pickup for someone.

Temple tight end Evan Rodriguez has a penchant for making tough catches and getting up the field. Because he's 6-foot-3, some think he'll be a good candidate to play H-back in the NFL, but his blocking needs some work.

Star-divide

Owls junior defensive end Adrian Robinson is reminiscent of former Florida end Jermaine Cunningham. Both are undersized college ends who may not have the fluidity to quickly adjust to 3-4 outside linebacker.

Wyoming is light on prospects. Against Nebraska in September, Cowboys cornerback Tashaun Gipson stood out. He has nice size at 6-foot, 203 pounds and has experience at safety as well.

In this game last year: BYU beat UTEP 52-24 and the Cougars continued to hold the title for best acronym in college sports. Freshman quarterback Jake Heaps was named the MVP. He's currently in the process of transferring out.

2013 NFL Draft watch: Wyoming junior safety Luke Anderson is regarded as the team's fastest player and has reportedly run a 4.24 40-yard dash.
