Georgia's Aaron Murray makes wise choice bypassing 2012 NFL Draft

Georgia redshirt sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray stridently said he "there's no chance" of him entering the 2012 NFL Draft despite filing papers with the NFL Draft advisory board.

Underclassmen have until Jan. 15 to declare for the draft, but Murray would be wise to stick to his word. Murray has sparkled at times this season — particularly against Auburn, South Carolina Georgia Tech — but has been inconsistent. Against LSU and Florida, Murray completed less than 45 percent of his passes.

Murray is known as a hard worker in the film room and he has the natural physical skills for the NFL. Most will look at Murray's size (6-foot-1 and 211 pounds) and question his upside. But his release point is good and he's probably as tough as any player in the nation. Murray would probably a mid-round pick if he came out this season. In 2013, he should find himself in the discussion to be a first-round pick.

Star-divide

Murray isn't the only Bulldogs underclassman to give thought to the NFL. Tight end Orson Charles is considering the pros, as is safety safety Bacarri Rambo.

One player expected to rejoin Murray at Georgia next year is outside linebacker Jarvis Jones. He reiterated his stance on returning for his junior season.

"At the end of the day I think everything will work out for itself," Jones told reporters last week. "I'm not really concerned with that. We're still playing. I already said I'm coming back, so it is what it is."
