TCU vs. Louisiana Tech: Poinsettia Bowl NFL Draft watch notes
I've never been to a San Diego Credit Union. Maybe they're classier than most credit unions I've seen. They must be doing something right if they can continue to sponsor the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. By the by, what a strange combination, seasonal flowers that are poisonous to your dog and getting money with high interest rates.
Regardless, it's a college football game that is happening (tonight at 8 on ESPN) between TCU and Louisiana Tech. Because of that, we must discuss.
The premier matchup in this game should have been TCU linebacker Tank Carder against running back Lennon Creer. However, Creer has been declared ineligible for the game because of academics. It may be a good thing for Carder, who has been exposed some this year as a linebacker that struggles to shed blocks and take down power ball carriers. Carder is going to need a good offseason to resurrect his draft stock.
Louisiana Tech linebacker Adrien Cole is undersized at 5-foot-11, but he's a powerful player. A first-team All-WAC pick and conference defensive player of the year, Cole had 121 tackles this season. He's strictly a late-round prospect who will have to impress in minicamp.

In this game last year: Behind three Ronnie Hillman touchdowns, San Diego State dominated Navy and won 35-14.
2013 NFL Draft watch: TCU linebacker Tanner Brock was knocked out for the rest of the season in September because of a foot injury. He has good size at 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds and led the team in tackles in 2010.
Don't worry everyone. There is a decent bowl Thursday (Arizona State and Boise State).
