Matt Barkley delivers Lane Kiffin the Christmas miracle via ornament
By now, more than two hours later, it's old news that Matt Barkley is skipping out on the 2012 NFL Draft and returning to Southern California for his senior season.
There is no more interesting detail, however, than the one how Barkley informed Trojans head coach Lane Kiffin. From Pedro Moura of ESPN Los Angeles:
Matt Barkley told Lane Kiffin he was staying by having him flip over a Christmas ornament that said 'One more year.'
— Pedro Moura (@PedroMoura) December 22, 2011
Imagine the scene in Los Angeles. Kiffin and the Trojans are decorating their tree, with wide receiver Robert Woods leaping to place the star atop, naturally. Suddenly, Barkley tells a festive Kiffin to check out his homemade ornament. Then, pow! Matt Barkley flips the ornament and delivers the Christmas miracle better than he delivers the back corner fade. Bro hugs were undoubtedly gifted out in Heritage Hall.
For the Browns, Dolphins, Redskins and Seahawks, it had to feel like a lump of coal was delivered.
Officially, I will make no more Christmas analogies this year. Ho-ho-ho.

I was hoping Barkley would leave so that Utah might have a chance against them next year.
