2011 NFL Draft rankings: 100-51
With postseason all-star games completed, it's a good time to revisit the site's 2011 NFL Draft overall rankings. (Note: Rankings aren't intended to predict draft placement) After the jump, find 100-51.
Spotlight on: Christian Ponder, QB, Florida State
Few players jumped higher in the rankings than Ponder, who went from 87 to 58. Ponder benefited from a good Senior Bowl week where he finally got to show he was healthy. Don't forget that heading into the 2010 season, Ponder was considered by many (including me) as a late first-round pick.
Ponder still has that ceiling because he's an excellent option for teams running a West Coast scheme. His arm is good enough and he's clearly smart. You also have to like Ponder's toughness. Despite being injured most of his senior season, he still wanted to go out and play. Some NFL team is going to love that.

Niles Paul too high.
Roy Helu too low.

Seriously though, what is it about Helu that makes you value him so much more than almost everybody else?
I’m obviously on your side in this regard, but most places have him as a late round guy.

Why are you down on Niles Paul ??
& I ask this because I know you are a fan of Nebraska. I think he is really raw but with potential similar to Baldwin. I really like him as a mid rd. gem
I just don't have any faith in him.
He is an athletic specimen, although a bit muscle-bound. He just is not consistent at all. He has small hands and routinely drops easy passes. He also puts it on the ground quite a bit.
During this season, a local radio show had a discussion asking if “the juice was worth the squeeze” with Niles, and they concluded it probably wasn’t.
To be fair, he wasn’t in the best of situations to showcase his talents, but he did get some opportunities and failed to capitalize several times. I do think he will be a beast ST player, if he is willing to fill that role. He could be a great gunner, and would also be a decent returner if he learns how to hold onto the ball. I just don’t know about him as a receiver.
Saying he was too high was kind of a joke, but he’s definitely my least favorite NEB player in this draft. He seems like a boom/bust type of prospect to me.

Yeah, I see your point
& where he is slotted would put him in the third rd. which I agree is too high. I am hoping he lasts until the early 5th & the Redskins take him
