here is a quote from this fan shot:

“Oh and just a thought. I haven’t heard anything of the matter, but I could definitely see Peterson moving to safety at the next level. You see players like Antrel Roll and Malcolm Jenkins make the transition without missing a beat. Guys that lack that short-step quickness can still make a lot of money in center field”

something I have been pointing out for months

So basically

Peterson becomes the #1 CB and safety in this draft. I hope a team like Denver takes him early because I do like the thought of Amukamara to the 49ers. I still think Peterson goes before Amukamara because he’s going to be impressive at the Combine. However I really wouldn’t be upset with either choice.

How I see it going down...

The beauty of the Patrick Peterson pick, is that regardless of where he fits into a secondary he is still a tremendous athlete. If a team drafts him high as a corner, and GridironGuru’s assessment is true, then they can move him to safety and not even miss a beat.

I really think that Peterson should be picked by the Denver Broncos at 2. He would add youth and exceptional athletic ability to their aging secondary. Then Amukamara slides to the 49ers, but that’s a great fit.

Peterson is the better athlete

but you have to wonder whether he’s been getting by in college using that elite athleticism.

Prince isn’t, tho he’s definitely well above average for a corner, but he uses his technique and knowledge of the game.

Peterson probably has the higher potential, but Amukamara has the lower floor.

Give me PP

I love the return ability and athleticism, while Prince’s lack of elite speed is a turnoff for me. I agree with Rorschach, Prince is safer, but I don’t see a high bust risk for either. I think the teams that draft these guys should be very happy in 2011 and the future.

Changing my sig because of good advice from swg77. I still believe Bowers won't be the pick, but I do agree it is a possibility (small, but still possible). My top 4 (which is a combo of need and BPA) for the Broncos #2 overall pick: 1. Fairley 2. Peterson 3. Dareus 4. Bowers. Considering though that likely only one player will be taken from this top 4 I believe the pick is between Fairley and Peterson, with a small chance of Bowers or Dareus.
