2011 NFL Mock Draft
I thought it would be fitting for my return post be an always controversial Mock Draft. I am honored to have the opportunity to return to Mocking the Draft and help Dan provide great draft coverage. You can expect to see a ton of mock drafts, scouting reports, and other draft related thoughts. Below you can find my updated Mock Draft, I expect to see some interesting comments, so fire away!
1. Carolina (2-14)- Nick Fairley- DT- Auburn
- The interior of the Panthers defensive line has been a problem for a few years and I am sure its recognized by Coach Rivera. The addition of Fairley will help keep double teams away from Charles Johnson and offensive coordinators on their toes.
2. Denver (4-12)- Da'Quan Bowers- DE- Clemson
- The new coaching brain trust in Denver will be making the switch from a 3-4 scheme to a 4-3 system. The majority of 4-3 defenses are successful if a rush can be generated by the front 4. Adding Bowers to a line that will also feature Elvis Dumervil should allow the rest of the defense to drop into coverage. Bowers would complement Dumervil nicely because of his ability to create pressure and also hold up against the run.
3. Buffalo (4-12)- Patrick Peterson- CB- LSU
- Check out Dan's article about Peterson to know all you need to know Patrick! The Bills have a lot of different needs but I would argue that they just need playmakers. Peterson is a guy that will contribute in 2 phases of the game, defense and special teams. Peterson has a rare mix of size and talent that will allow him to control an entire side of the field. Also he will instantly become one of the more dangerous kick returns in the NFL.
4. Cincinnati (4-12)- AJ Green- WR- Georgia
- It is still unclear whether or not Ochocinco returns but either way Green is to talented to fall any further. Green's addition will be sure to quiet Carson Palmer's calls for a trade.
5. Arizona (5-11)- Blaine Gabbert- QB- Missouri
- I don't see a scenario where the Cardinals can avoid taking a quarterback this early. I have question marks on all the quarterbacks in this draft and don't have any in my top 10. However, the Cardinals are desperate and need to make a move to address this need. The plan of attack should be draft their quarterback of the future and sign a free agent to mentor.
6. Cleveland (5-11)- Robert Quinn- DE/OLB- UNC
- Cleveland is also making the transition back to the 4-3 defensive system and they have holes to fill. Finding a pass rushing end is going to be a major priority for this Browns' defense. Quinn is a bit undersized but possesses the skills to wreak havoc in the offensive backfield. He has an excellent speed rush with the ability to flatten out around the edge on his way to the quarterback.
7. San Francisco (6-10)- Von Miller- OLB- Texas A&M
- The 49ers will be keeping a close eye on the available quarterbacks but would be wise to wait. Miller would push their defense to an elite level as he would provide the pass rush they lacked in 2010. Miller's stock might not be done climbing and he could end up a lot higher than #7.
8. Tennessee (6-10)- Ryan Mallett- QB- Arkansas
- Mallett has seen his stock take a major hit but after watching 10 plus games I feel he still has a bright future. Mallett's big arm and experience in Bobby Petrino's offense will benefit him as he transitions into the NFL. I have Mallett and Gabbert closely rated, both having potential but major question marks. The Titans are in the same boat as the Cardinals; being desperate is an unenviable position.
9. Dallas (6-10)- Prince Amukamara- CB- Nebraska
- Dallas is going to have a tough decision to make if this is the way the draft falls. They will be grateful if both Amukamara and Dareus are on the board at this position. Ultimately, their defensive backfield was a major weakness therefore needing the bigger upgrade. Amukamara is an elite talent that will have an immediate impact.
10. Washington (6-10)- Cam Newton- QB- Auburn
- Coach Shanahan's ego will not prevent him from selecting a quarterback that needs a ton of work. Newton's big arm and running ability fits in line with what Shanahan prefers behind center. Again I don't have Newton rated this high but the theme with this mock draft has been need over value.
11. Houston (6-10)- Marcel Dareus- DT- Alabama
- I am shocked with the way this mock has shaped up and the fact that a top 5 talent like Dareus is still available here. Dareus' versatility will allow Wade Phillips to use him all along the defensive front.
12. Minnesota (6-10)- Tyron Smith- OT- USC
- Smith is a 20 year old tackle prospect with great strength and balance. Most will look at his slender build (for an offensive lineman) and think he would lack strength but that is anything but the truth. His balance and leverage allow him to push defenders off the football. He would be able to step in from day one and help fix a spotty offensive line.
13. Detroit (6-10)- Akeem Ayers- LB- UCLA
- Ayers is a guy that will fit any defensive scheme because he possesses great athletic ability. His speed and quickness allows him to cover ground sideline to sideline. Adding Ayers to an already improved defense will only speed up the Lions rebuilding process.
14. St. Louis (7-9)- Julio Jones- WR- Alabama
- The tandem of Jones and Bradford has the potential to be very special. The Rams need to focus on giving their star quarterback weapons and Jones has good size and speed.
15. Miami (7-9)- Mark Ingram- RB- Alabama
- Ingram has been a popular pick for the Dolphins in many mock drafts. I am not going to be different just to be different, the pick makes too much sense.
16. Jacksonville (8-8)- Ryan Kerrigan- DE- Purdue
- Jacksonville has struggled to find a consistent pass rush, not for a lack of trying! Kerrigan is a kid that has a great motor and the ability to get after the quarterback. The Jaguars could also look at the quarterback and safety position.
17. New England (from Oakland 8-8)- Cam Jordan- DE/DT- Cal
- Again this seems a little low for Jordan but he just didnt fit with the earlier teams. This would be a true dream scenario for the Patriots as they get value at a position of need. As the draft approaches and we get a better feel for what teams are targeting and you could see Jordan move up the draft.
18. San Diego (9-7)- Rahim Moore- S- UCLA
- Eric Weddle is a free agent and there is a good possibility that the Chargers let him walk. History has shown that San Diego is not afraid to let players leave as free agents but their is the possibility that they use their franchise tag on the talented safety. However, if Weddle moves on Moore is a very capable replacement.
19. New York Giants (10-6)- Gabe Carimi- OT- Wisconsin
- The Giants have seen their best success when they feature a strong running game. During their Super Bowl run the offensive line was a main cog in that machine. But now that offensive line is aging and under performing so adding the massive Carimi to the fold would be a great choice. Carimi's run blocking ability would fit right in the the Giants game plan.
20. Tampa Bay (10-6)- Brandon Harris- CB- Miami
- On paper this might not look like a great fit but I don't trust the futures of either Ronde Barber or Aqib Talib. Barber is pondering retirement and Talib has had frequent run ins with off the field trouble. Having a solid secondary is just to important in the pass heavy NFL to leave to chance.
21. Kansas City (10-6)- Phil Taylor- NT- Baylor
- I am well aware that this might be a reach and that the Chiefs tend to shy away from character issues but I went this direction anyway. The Chiefs brass have shown (with Tyson Jackson) that they are not afraid to reach for a player if it fill a need and Taylor has the potential to be a dominate nose tackle.
22. Indianapolis (10-6)- Anthony Castonzo- OT- Boston College
- Peyton Manning struggled this season when he was faced with pressure so focusing on the offensive line would be wise. Castonzo is a very athletic tackle that has a strong base and balanced footwork.
23. Philadelphia (10-6)- Aaron Williams- CB- Texas
- If there is one glaring hole on the defensive side of the ball its at cornerback. The stop gap opposite Asante Samuel came loose during the playoffs and it cost the Eagles. Williams is a solid prospect with good length and balance, he has the ability to contribute early on.
24. New Orleans (11-5)- Adrian Clayborn- DE- Iowa
- The Saints have some questions that need answering at the offensive tackle position but defensive end is also a need. It appears likely that Alex Brown will be moving on next season and Clayborn is a similar style player. A team drafting Clayborn has to come to grips with the fact he may never develop into a double digit sack guy. However, he will provide good run support and a solid pass rush, he is just an all around good player.
25. Seattle (7-9)- Jake Locker- QB- Washington
- Locker is sitting right on the edge of my top 32 players and that is only because he has potential. Locker is far from a finished product but Pete Carrol's familiarity of him may be the deciding factor. It would be a good situation for Hasselbeck to return and mentor the young quarterback.
26. Baltimore (12-4)- Jimmy Smith- CB- Colorado
- The Ravens main focus should be addressing their porous secondary. Ladarius Webb is a good corner but they lack a true top notch player at the position. Smith is a guy that can excel in man press coverage which will come in handy when the Ravens blitz.
27. Atlanta (13-3)- Justin Houston- DE- Georgia
- John Abraham is starting to wear down and Houston is built in a similar mold. The question is what position best fits his skills, defensive end or outside linebacker.
28. New England (14-2)- Aldon Smith- DE/OLB- Missouri
- Having two first round picks provides you with the luxury of taking a project type player. Smith has awesome physical skills but lacks a true position. He doesnt have the size and strength to hold up against the run as a defensive end and lacks experience dropping into coverage. However, if there is a coach that can find a role for him its going to be Bill Belichick.
29. Chicago (11-5)- Corey Liuget- DT- Illinois
- I know the Bears are in dire need of offensive line help but that doesn't mean they must go that direction in round 1. Liuget would be a perfect if as a 3 technique in the Bears defensive system. He possesses a quick first step that allows him to penetrate the pocket.
30. New York Jets (11-5)- Cameron Heyward- DT/DE- Ohio State
- The entire Jets defensive line is in need of a talent upgrade and that's exactly what Heyward will provide. He showed in the Sugar Bowl that he is capable of dominating a football game.
31. Green Bay (10-6)- Christian Ballard- DT/DE- Iowa
- Ryan Pickett and Cullen Jenkins are both over 30 years old and have battled injuries. Ballard is a rising prospect that would be a good fit as a 5 technique.
32. Pittsburgh (12-4)- Derrick Sherrod- OT- Mississippi State
- I am sure I am not the only one that is surprised the Steelers made it through the playoffs with their pair of starting tackles. Nevertheless, the display Suggs put on against this tandem shows that this is an area of need.

In your mind Aqib Talib cannot be trusted
But your mind isn’t relevant: the team’s mind is. And every indication from the Bucs has been that Talib turned it around last offseason, and that they trust him implicitly.
Plus, it’s not like E.J. Biggers played poorly, and they have last year’s 3rd-round pick on the roster too.
That doesn’t mean the Bucs won’t pick a cornerback there, I just can’t agree with the reasoning.
your first sentence makes every mock draft irrelevant
since in anyone’s mind _______ may not be good enough, but to the team it is or vice versa (ex. CJ Spiller to the Bills… wtf lol)
it’d be a great move for the bucs to pick up another CB since Ronde can mentor him right before he retires
It makes every mock draft that ignores a team's profile irrelevant, yes
I have no problem with that. The point of a mock draft is to predict the way the real draft is likely to happen.
Talib is not a problem, and the FA market for CB is good that the Bucs might get someone that way
Overall, the Bucs’ biggest needs are more at DE, MLB, and S before CB has to be considered. I’d personally like to see upgrades to the OL too, but that’s just me (Sander can vouch for that).
The 2010 Bucs: Considering their two-minute offense works wonders... Why can't EVERY offensive drive be run like that during the other 58 minutes of the damn game?!
Love Peterson to the Bills
IT’s my ideal 1st round pick…that being said if the Bills take von Miller, well I wouldn’t be very happy
I like to dance
Yes. Bills pick: approved.

Need is Better
The Buffalo Bills had three star running backs over the last two years M.Lynch, F.Jackson and C.J.Spiller.
They could hardly make a 1,000 yards rushing during this period.
Why?
The offensive line is horrible and needs talent to go with the two pieces it has.
We have QBs whom never have time to throw and running backs whom struggle to reach 1,000 yards in rushing.
WHY?
The offensive line is the major problem
I told you last year and you bit my head off about E.Wood being the starting OC.
Right away you get crazy and try tell us that Hangarten is a talent and should start.
Wrong!
We need more talent starters to get going and not just one talented CB at the three pick.
Trade down with Dallas and get a extra two.
Then trade down with New England and get one of their ones and a extra two.
Just trade down with New England to get both their number ones if they are looking for a stud WR to go with Brady. (A.J.Green)
We need talented offensive linemen and defensive linemen.
Our defensive linemen are talented backup players at best now.
Getting one stud starter helps along with getting our offensive line set up to run the ball with success next year and to look at a QB in next years draft.
2011 Bills Offensive Line:
LOT/N.Solder LOG/A.Levitre OC/E.Wood ROG/J.Moffitt ROT/G.Carimi
Backups: G.Hangarten-K.Urbik-D.Bell
We can get this line fix by getting these three starters to form a line were we have two 1,000 yard rushers before we get a stud QB next year.
My treat to a game. I fly in twice a year in one of the boxes.
All you need to do is reconsider my position that I am in now with you know what.
A treat is a treat!
Let’s Go Bills!
Jacksonville will not drafft kerrigan over cam jordan
why does everyone like kerrigan so much. I just don’t get it????
Can't stand the truth?
Because he's white.
Which automatically makes him scrappy, undersized, and cerebral. We need more white defensive ballers in the NFL to replace Jared Allen, Patrick Kerney, and Jacksonville’s own Aaron Kampman.
Aaron Curry was a bust the moment he took the field.
It's Chris Clemons' fault that he's teammates with Kelly Jennings, Lawyer Milloy, Marcus Trufant, Aaron Curry, and Lofa Tatupu.

Seriously???
It’s got nothing to do with race. Kerrigan has been one of the best defensive ends in college, and actually has stats that rival Ndamukong Suh’s, believe it or not. As a Panther fan, I wouldn’t mind if we drafted Kerrigan number one overall.

Wow, you are most definitely ignorant.
The reason is probably b/c Cam Jordan was a 3-4 DE and wasn’t able to put up the sexy stats, such as sacks, like Kerrigan was playing in a 4-3. That is why. Next time try using stats and logic.

I think FF is being sarcastic/witty. Right FF?
By the way, I love the stereotyping. Some of these gurus are so predictable in their scouting reports.
Kerrigan is supposed to be fast...
and can apply pressure on the QB.
The deal is, defensive ends are hot this rookie draft. The depth is supposedly outstanding and there are a lot of teams with need on the D-line this year. Don’t be surprised if there’s a run on D-linemen (DEs and a handful of DTs) once Cam Newton is off the board. ;-)
The 2010 Bucs: Considering their two-minute offense works wonders... Why can't EVERY offensive drive be run like that during the other 58 minutes of the damn game?!
Aristotle...
As a fellow Jags fan, lets be honest with each other. Our pass rush is garbage. My preferred first round pick right now is a defensive end, whether that be Kerrigan, Aldon Smith, Clayborn, Bailey, Jordan, or in my wildest dreams Bowers.

i kno
but we already have an undersized DE we don’t need another one unless he’s extremely athletic like aldon smith.
Can't stand the truth?
We don't
Have a solid left or right end. The rookies didn’t show me much at all. Hopefully one of them turns out, but we seriously need to address the area again in my opinion.
If hip hop is dead, then it happened the day that Dilla died.

arz will not tacke a qcb in the 1rd idonot see miller getting by them in the 1rd also marcel daresus will not fall to houston but will be drafted by clevland also ithink houston will draft ayers before the lions pick at 13. if the lions stay at 13pick in the draft thier pick will be carmron jordan de cal but ihave them tradeing with pats to move dowen in this draft .
Dareus/Amakamura
I think the dallas pick is still too high for Amakamura.I still believe Dallas will trade out of this pick with someone like Miami to pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd and go get their right tackle,Sherrod or Carimi.
I really hope you're right
I fear that all the good lineman will be gone by the time the Cowboys pick again in the 2nd round at 40th. If they dont address the O Line in the first (and preferrably with a trade down) Sherrod, Carimi, Solder, Costanzo, Smith, Pouncey, Wisniewski, and probably Ijalana will be gone. No impact players will be there.
I have a few thoughts:
I think the Bills will go with Green if Bowers and Fairley go 1 and 2. Next, you have 5 corners going in the first round. That is way too many in my mind. I can see Harris and Smith dropping into the 2nd and maybe Williams, too. And last, there is no way the Pats get Aldon Smith at pick 28, that is way too far of a drop. I doubt Jordan even gets to 17. Oh and JJ Watt will go in the first, too. Too many teams need a pass-rushing DE, including the Jets.
If Brandon
Harris drops to the second that would be a crime.
If hip hop is dead, then it happened the day that Dilla died.
-Akrobatik
Not before the Lions my friend.
Depending on how he grades out on the Lions board, I could see them moving back up in the draft if he slips out of the first round.
Dareus to the texans?
Can I get a like button?
How about a 'rec' button?
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!
And go Shawn Watson and Barney Cotton! Seriously, leave Lincoln. Now.
Super Bowl here we come!
No issues with Costonzo that would say he wouldn't be the pick.
OT is def. the pick I think he is probably the most likely choice for the Colts and probably best all around player at this point. Just might not have a ton of upside potential like some of the other prospects.

JJ Watt
Watt is the most notable missing player in this mock. He wouldn’t get past Green Bay or Pittsburgh (no matter what their pressing needs are).
Mike Pouncey should make an apperence in the 1st. Maybe Seattle or Atlanta (Pittsburgh would obviously be interested). He is to quick for his size to make it past the first 32.
Overall I like the mock draft I guess.
I like Phil Taylor to KC it def fills a void.........
I also think they could take Houston and I don’t think Aldon Smith falls to 28……….
"Not only did ViolentMike suck the best dick all season, but he also had the best butthole and won the inaugural season of the Gayest Fantasy Football League ever held"
I like the void filling
but I dont know about a guy who was a late second early 3rd rounder who vaulted up because of the senior bowl. I watched him in their Bowl game and he was worked over. I would not be opposed to letting him slip by in the 1st and trying to trade back up in the 2nd to get him. If we could get him around 42 or so. It wouldnt cost much to move up from 55 to 42. If he isnt there then you can look at getting Fua in the 4th or Ellis in the 5th.
Carimi to the Giants is a solid pick
funny that Nate Solder isn’t in the first here. I don’t really like him either, but I can see him being in the first round at least. I’d rather have Carimi over Solder, but also I can see the Giants picking Solder instead.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
Ayers seems to be a popular pick for the Lions,
but I dont really want him. I think he has a low ceiling for a first round pick, and other players in later rounds brings the same athletic abilities as him. People over at POD are very intrigued with Brandon Harris out of Miami.
House of Spears | Just Another Detroit Lions Blog |
Lions fans over here
Issue death threats over getting Harris when Ayers is on the board.
Not really. They just write insanely long objections.
For Jags
we need a CB and possibly a LB or two, over QB, and Cameron Jordan played well in the senior bowl, and made his stock go up, now he’s possibly a top 10 pick, and I don’t think Jags will pass him up.
As far as the top pick goes
How many people really feel Fairley is a top overall pick? The guy has only one year of Division I experience under his belt, and he is after all a defensive tackle. There has been a lot of comparisons to Suh, but I think Fairley is extremely raw compared to Suh. Suh had four years of college experience under a great defensive minded coach in Bo Pelini. He was a ready NFL starter when the Lions picked him. I’m not sure if I can say the same things about Fairley.
House of Spears | Just Another Detroit Lions Blog |
I agree latif.
I see Fairley being the one in the top five who will drop the farthest, definitely not Dareus.
Not saying Fairley won’t be a great pro, i just think he has too many negatives to take really high.
Woo, Locker to the Seahawks.
But I don’t think Shanahan is going to bother with another project Auburn QB.
Aaron Curry was a bust the moment he took the field.
It's Chris Clemons' fault that he's teammates with Kelly Jennings, Lawyer Milloy, Marcus Trufant, Aaron Curry, and Lofa Tatupu.

Yes, but he didn't even bother trying to make him into a good QB.
And Campbell was probably farther along in his development than Newton will be.

Locker in Seattle
Just doesnt sit well in my stomach for some reason. Especially right here, would rather they shore up their secondary, oline, dline, then look towards qb.
It was all just a dream...
I think they will wait till next year on a QB is my feeling.

I don't think Carroll would want Locker who played in a spread system.
I am pretty sure he would rather have a guy who plays a Pro style system like he coached.

Remember that Locker played under former Carroll assistant Steve Sarkisian for two seasons.

That is true.
However that doesn’t change type of system he played under. Sure I think it is possible pick and most likely QB they draft if they take one this year. But I don’t even think they will go QB this year.

That's true, there are pressing needs everywhere.
But I think the chance to obtain a potentially great starting QB takes priority. We’ve ignored it long enough in the 1st round (Aaron Curry over Mark Sanchez was awful) and its bit us in the ass, we’re years overdue in replacing Hasselbeck.

Eagles Pick
I agree about the eagles targeting a CB but I think Jimmy Smith from Colorado is much more likely than Williams

Also,
I think the Pouncey is a definite first rounder and wouldn’t be shocked if he went to Philly

Corner is probably Dallas’ number one need, and Amukamara is easily the best player available there. They’d jump at the chance to pick him.

mark it, amukamara is not that good
i like him but he’s not worth the 9th pick, if he’s there at 14th or something then yes i pick him, and maybe i would put him to play safety
Some new picks
First time I’ve seen Quinn to the Browns. And a non-OL to Chicago. Don’t hate either pick.
However, it is important to point out regarding your Steelers comment that they were playing backups at both tackle spots. And that the Steelers favor big boys like Starks and Kemeoatu (sp?).
Rams fan here
and completely agree with Jones, that’s our ideal pick but we have some worry about it since many think the Browns could pick him
Wat are that chances do you think the Browns could pick him up at that 6 spot?
I see the Lions being able to trade down if Jones is still on the board at # 13.
Or even take him ourselves as the best value available at # 13.
I would rather KC didn't pick Taylor in the first.
Not that I am a KC fan, gag. I am a Bronco fan and want Taylor to fall to our 36th pick. He would make for a nice big body in our new 4-3.

The steelers were starting their two backup OT’s the entire year. OT is not a need as Colon and Starks will be back next year. RG is a need. OT is like the 4th or 5th need on this team.

3 of the QB's going in the top 10?
I disagree. There are too many questions and too many other difference makers for that many reaches. Maybe Gabbert will go in the top 10, but I expect the Cardinals to take a defensive player.
Q: who do the Cardinals HAVE at QB right now?
Unless they make a major trade for Kolb or some other backup with potential, Arizona is gonna want a franchise QB. That means drafting one First Round. If you’re thinking the QB values aren’t there (and there are teams that will pass on them), then the smart move for Arizona is to trade down, snag an extra pick or two, and get their QB in a mid-First round spot.
The 2010 Bucs: Considering their two-minute offense works wonders... Why can't EVERY offensive drive be run like that during the other 58 minutes of the damn game?!
Is there a CBA prior to the draft in this scenario?
If so the Cardinals will probably have a veteran signed by draft day. If not it may well force their hand in picking a QB first round. Personally I’d prefer they not. If they don’t at least compete for the division title in 2011 count Larry Fitzgerald as good as gone in 2012. He has made no bones about wanting to be on a winning team. A veteran QB is more likely to get them there than any rookie. Even if they draft someone in the first they will still have to sign a veteran anyway. Derek Anderson is a joke.
Gabbert has bust written all over him. Sure he has a strong arm, but other than that I dont get where all of the Buzz is coming from. I think he will fail to make the transition to the NFL, and will cost whatever franchise drafts him many years of struggle and problems. I.E. Kyle Boller.

I think he could, but he’s a project player too. If anything it would take him 2-3 years to start being effective.

Like the postition for the Jags
Based on who is available in your scenario I’d rather have Aldon Smith or Cam Jordan, though I would be fine with Kerrigan as well. I really want the defensive line to return to the days of the twin towers and adding a stud end like the three I just listed would be one of the final steps in doing that.

I'd take Smith, Jordan, Clayborn, and Locker all over Kerrigan
I won’t be crushed if we pick Kerrigan, but he doesn’t seem like a good fit at 16. I think he should be going between 20 and 25 or so.

I want Smith
More than anyone. I think he is a future all-pro.

Ravens fan here
I honestly don’t think CB is a problem for us. Our glaring problem this year seemed to be on offense, and I honestly see us going for a WR in the First. And if you can’t tell I hope it’s Leonard Hankerson. He would fit perfectly into our system, and would be an ideal player to put at the #2 position. And the Castle has made it clear that they want youth at WR, so most signs are pointing to us draft WR.

Recked you BW. I don't understand the logic of a CB for the Ravens.
Josh Wilson, Chris Carr, and Ledarius Webb are all pretty solid CBs. Unless they grade a CB in the top ten that falls to them [Harris? Smith?], I agree that they will be looking at the WRs or even a lineman [a tackle?] if one drops to them that they really like.
I really admire Ozzie Newsome’s drafting. He has consistently done very well. I’m sure he will get some great value at # 26.
Ravens fan as well
Yea I think Baltimore Warrior is right, we should definitely look at a WR for the first round, but in the 2nd Rd I wouldnt mind taking a corner
1st rd – titus young
2nd rd – Aaron Williams CB for Texas

Cardinals
So you don’t think that any of the QB’s are worth a top 10 pick, but hell, the Cardinals are stupid enough to take one though, right?
Myself and other Cards fan have mentioned multiple times on this site that the Cards will not take a QB. None of the QB’s in this draft are an upgrade over Skelton. Skelton is farther along in his development than the ass clowns that are in this draft.
Of course the Cards have QB issues, but if you’re advocating getting a veteran QB to mentor or start anyway, why would the Cards throw away the #5 pick in the draft on ANOTHER developmental QB?
There are too many other holes on this team.

Damn straight.
The need for an outside linebacker is only marginally less than that of quarterback. There are options worth taking top five for that position.
Two QB's
I don’t see them being picked that early not with the flaws they have and Mallet is already a prima donna what sense does it make to replace Vince Young with a new guy who might be another headcase? Veteran QB’s are going to effect the draft Kolb and McNabb. Now it depends on whether the CBA is done before the draft or after, we don’t know if teams will be negotiating potential player trades anyway even if there’s not a CBA. Then they can finalize the deal after the CBA is reached.

Cam Newton to the Redskins
is a good pick & makes perfect sense from a standpoint of need, talent, Shannahans ego & Snyders need of splashy players ( plus I think he will be great & hope that is the pick in April). I have a feeling that between his private workout & his participation in the combine that many people change their minds & he moves even farther up draft boards
