Building the Perfect Beast
Other than Don Henley's album in 1984, The Green Bay Packers have built the perfect, Right 53, beast in 2010. The Packers won the 45th Super Bowl with 16 players on IR. Those 16 players included Mike Neal, Morgan Burnett, and Marshall Newhouse, their 2nd, 3rd and a 5th round draft choice in 2010. www.drafttek.com has regraded the 2010 draft based on 2010 performance and the Green Bay Packers again take the crown. The Kansas City Chiefs finished a respectable 4th overall with Scott Pioli's best draft in KC. How do the Chiefs match up against the current World Champions of the NFL?
The Chiefs vs the Packers, I think that was the 2002-3 pre-season favorites a number of years ago.
Using the existing team depth Charts how do we compare?
Offense
Greg Jennings > Chris Chambers - not even a competition in 2010
Chad Clifton > Branden Albert - Clifton was a 2010 Pro Bowl selection and a 34 year old Bull
Brian Waters > Daryn Colledge - Waters was a 2010 Pro Bowl selection and a 34 year old Bull
Casey Weigmann > Scott Wells - Weigmann is long in the tooth, but still has a bite
Ryan Lilja > Josh Sitton - Lilja has a Super Bowl ring and now Sitton does to
Bryan Bulaga > Barry Richardson - Both have room to grow, Bulaga has more upside
Jeremiah Finley > Tony Moeaki - Finley edges the rookie for now
Dwayne Bowe > Donald Driver - Driver is the Superior WR but is now sliding with age
Korey Hall > Tim Castille - The Chiefs alternating FB roster spot is a joke
Jamaal Charles > Brandon Foster or Ryan Grant
The Chiefs and the Packers offensively are very similar in stats. Green Bay was 9th in offense the Chiefs were 12th. YPG Packers 358 and KC 350. The Packers converted 42% of third downs the Chiefs 37%, definitely an area to work on in 2011.
Defense
Clay Mathews vs Tamba Hali - Not calling this one :)
Derrick Johnson vs A.J. Hawk - again not calling this one
Desmond Bishop > Jovan Belcher
Erik Walden > Mike Vrabel
Charles Woodson vs Brandon Flowers
Tramon Williams > Brandon Carr
Nick Collins > Jon McGraw, and the youngster Kendrick Lewis
The Chiefs Defense is not up to the standards of the Green Bay Packers. The Packers defense ranks 5th in the NFL with 309 yards per game allowed. The Kansas City Chiefs defense ranked 14th and allowed 330 YPG.The Packers defense allowed 15 PPG, the Chiefs 20.4 PPG. Other than those stats, we are close on 3rd down pct allowed, turnovers forced. The Packers created 9 more sacks in 2010.
Well the cupboard is not bare for the Chiefs, yet if the Packers continue to outdraft us and out perform us on the field it will be a tough team to catch. We get to go man on man in 2011 in Kansas City against the World Champs.
Go Chiefs

LOL
Since this is actually a good write-up, I can accept it as an honest mistake. If it was 2 or 3 sentences, a lot of us would be annoyed by it.

I quit writing those after a 100 posts or so
I cannot believe I posted this up here though, I reposted to AP anyway.
Target Audience and all, yet I guess all of our teams should measure against the current World Champs :)

I think you may not be that familiar with some of the GB players
Greg Jennings is the #1 WR, you need to pair him with Bowe. As to the other WRs, their #4 had twice the catches of Chambers.
Josh Sitton was the 1st Pro Bowl alternate at guard and was named the best offensive lineman in the entire league by the NFL Alumni Association. So Lilja is not in the same time zone.
The RB for GB is Brandon Jackson.
I have not watched Dorsey play, but I can tell you Jenkins is very good.
Tramon Williams was named to the Pro Bowl and is considered one of the top corners in the NFC. He got a contract extension at $8 million per year.
I caught that on Tramon 6 Interceptions vs 1 for Carr
Carr has defensed more passes due to Flowers on the other side.
Charles is better than any current GB Running back :)
I was basing this on the Depth Charts of the respective teams (the Chiefs lie as to depth chart)
Though I thought it was interesting that both teams are 3-4 Defense with similar schemes (maybe)
I do not follow GB that well, but Dorsey is a 3rd year #5 overall and Jenkins was an UDFA pickup.
Thanks for the feedback ct17

yea
I dunno that Dorsey is in the same time zone as Jenkins either.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
Dorsey is a beast......
KC has some of the best players no one has ever heard of……….
"Not only did ViolentMike suck the best dick all season, but he also had the best butthole and won the inaugural season of the Gayest Fantasy Football League ever held"
Jenkins played in 11 games and didn't play in all of a few of them too
also Clay Matthews owes a lot of his success to Jenkins.
Dorsey is good, and yea…I’ve heard of him. But he’s not Cullen Jenkins, sorry.

Absolutely.
B.J. Raji is a beast, but Jenkins might be our best DL. Draft position means nothing once you start playing. I REALLY hope TT takes care of our guy and keeps him around. He’s so disrupting in both the pass and run game.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!
And go Shawn Watson and Barney Cotton! Seriously, leave Lincoln. Now.
Green Bay Packers: Super Bowl XLV Champions!!!!
Yes and no.
Generally, most of our DL are their to collapse the pocket and stop the run. The LBs and DBs are where most of the sacks come from. But Cullen Jenkins is very, very good.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!
And go Shawn Watson and Barney Cotton! Seriously, leave Lincoln. Now.
Green Bay Packers: Super Bowl XLV Champions!!!!
The Chiefs could really use a 3-4 NT like Raji
seems that Romeo is more about 2-gap control with our mainly 4-3 DT group

Hands off.
He’s our cheesehead.

These stats
Would suggest that Dorsey and Vrabel are better Run Defenders than Jenkins and Walden in 2010

Big gulps huh...
welp, see ya later!

I see your point
but I think you were just a tad bit generous on a few of them, and some things like comparing Bowe to Driver was not fair.
please elaborate
I was already told Bowe should be vs Jennings
as far as Bowe stats in 2010 vs Driver, Bowe wins this in 2010. Driver is the Superior WR for body of work.
Tramon beats Carr, i see that as a CB comparison 6 Int vs 1 for Carr

Carr is very underrated.......
He may not have the ints but I would love to see how many receptions he allowed and how many yards per reception he allowed compared to williams. I think we may be surprised. I think that next year KC will have the best secondary in the league, Flowers, Carr, Lewis, Berry and Arenas at the nickle, very scary……..
"Not only did ViolentMike suck the best dick all season, but he also had the best butthole and won the inaugural season of the Gayest Fantasy Football League ever held"
gladly
Jennings is better then Bowe. Sure, Bowe had a really good year, but Jennings had just as good as one and has been doing it for longer.
Matthews is better the Hali. I love Hali too but I can’t see that being a “tie”. I see Matthews as just as good of a pass rusher, possibly better, and also much more versatile.
AJ Hawk hasn’t lived up to where he was drafted, but again he has been way more consistent then DJ.
Vrabel is ahead of no one as a 3-4 OLB. He had zero sacks on the year, sorry I’ll take any OLB who’ll get one over him.
I’ll admit Glenn Dorsey had a great year, but Jenkins 7 sacks is pretty impressive, not as clear cut as you think, that might be the only real tie.
The positions I’ll give you are: RB, LG, FS. Don’t get me wrong, I think your a good team and have a great core of young players who should continue to improve, but as of now you don’t compare too well to this SB team.
SS.
Nick Collins is a FS. Although the Packers don’t really seem to distinguish between the 2 S spots as much. Both are versatile and could play either spot I suppose.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!

Tramon Williams is so much better than Brandon Carr.
You serious? Carr is decent but Williams could have been in the DPOY conversation. And don’t you mean Brandon Jackson? And where is James Starks?
Brandon Jackson
Not Foster, lol wahtever. Good write-up.
Rick Ross is an intriguing NFL prospect because of his combination of speed and size. He projects as a Nose Tackle in the 3-4. His upside is the reason the Panthers will select Ross #1 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
-Todd McShay
I wish I could read and then type the Depth chart:)
it is Brandon Jackson and Jermicheal Finley. Thanks
Just try to STOP US
Oh, and it's Jermicheal Finley.
And he’s one of the top 2-3 TEs in the league. Did you see what he was doing before getting hurt? Moeaki is a nice player but will probably not ever be in Finley’s class. The guy is the best receiver on either team.
Go Suns, Packers, Jays, and Huskers!
