DeAndre McDaniel 2011 NFL Draft Interview
Here is another interview from Mocking The Draft. This time it's Clemson Safety prospect DeAndre McDaniel. He has some very high expectations for himself and why not? He has shown great ability while in college.
Mocking The Draft: What has been your most memorable College Football experience?
DeAndre McDaniel: Graduating! Getting my degree in 4 years.
MTD: Who was the best player you faced during your College career?
DM: Matt Ryan my Freshman year at Clemson.
MTD: What part of your game do you feel you have improved the most during your college career?
DM: Film study and getting knowledge of the game.
MTD: What do you feel is the strongest part of your game?
DM: Playmaking and instincts...I have a knack for the football.
MTD: To succeed at anything in life you need to have something that drives you, what is it that drives you to succeed?
DM: My grandmother. She raised me, my sister and brother on her own. With the little she had.
MTD: What do you love most about football?
DM: That its aggressive and because I've been playing it since 6yrs old.
MTD: Do you consider yourself a vocal leader or someone that leads by example?
DM: Both. If I feel the team not up for the challenge then I wake them up by being vocal. But if its a game we are just not getting stuff our way, I feel I need to make a play to get everyone going.
MTD: Does your draft position matter to you? Will it affect you if you fall further than expected?
DM: It does. Everyone's goal is to get drafted high. But if I'm a later pick, It's okay. It's just more to push for.
MTD: When it's all said and done what would you have liked to accomplish in the NFL?
DM: Many DB records, Hall of Fame, good friends, and a name for being one of the hardest workers ever.

Its good to see some athletes
humble and champion good virtues (i.e.: hard work). I bet most are like this but its nice to see proof not every athlete is an a-hole from time to time
I want this guy in Bengal stripes.
Nice interview.

I like this guy
but I have serious questions about him
he was really productive at Clemson, but so was our 5th round pick in 2009 Michael Hamlin
I hope he isnt like Hamlin being they are both bigger safeties
I question if he can be a playmaking safety or a in the box safety due to his speed
if he was there in the 3rd round I would want Dallas to take him
I just have questions taking him in the 2nd round where there could be players with less question marks

He is a bigger, slower Safety.
But his biggest strength would be his instincts. He can make up for his lack of speed by reading whats going on. He lives in the film room. I’d take him in the 2nd and feel good about it.

I think he would be a good fit for the texans in the second.
Kinda hopeing we trade down in the first and move up in the second.
Possibly pick up another high second rounder.
DE, Phil Taylor, Rahim Moore/DeAndre
That would be a great start to the 34 for HOU
