Jaz Baltimore Ravens Mock Draft

Hello Ravens Fans. I have constructed my first mock draft and it would be made as if Jared Gaither, Chris Carr, Josh Wilson, Sergio Kindle, and Dawan Landry will all be playing for the Ravens this season. In my mock draft I have the Ravens trading out of the first round because the patriots provide them with an offer they can’t refuse, which is a trade for the Ravens # 26 first rounds pick for their # 33 & #60 in the second round.

Welcome to Jaz Baltimore Ravens Mock Draft

                          Second Round:

Pick# 33- WR Leonard Hankerson Ht: 6-3,Wt: 205, School: Miami

Leonard Hankerson will be the Ravens first pick in the second round and I know some probably would expect a defensive player but this year the draft is full of defensive talent. Leonard Hankerson provides just about everything the Ravens want in a receiver with his good speed, height, good hands, and ability to be a vertical threat. The Ravens just cannot pass up on him and finally they get their wide receiver they been dreaming of.

Pick#58-De/Olb Brooks Reed Ht: 6-3, Wt 255, School: Arizonia

Pick#58:  Brooks Reed is a player that has a lot of upside, non stop motor, and can be very aggressive.  Brooks Reed stock has been rising lately and has been compared to Clay Matthew (I think more because of his hair) because of how the way he plays.  Brooks Reed has very good pass rush skills and The Ravens may have Sergio Kindle but you can never have too many good pass rushers.

Pick#60- C/G Tim Barnes Ht: 6-4, Wt: 310, School: Missouri

The Ravens still have center Matt Birk but it’s no telling if he may retire after this year. Tim Barnes is considered to be a very good center that is very smart, athletic, solid pass protector, solid foot work/agility, and etc. Tim Barnes could can also play guard and the Ravens love O-linemen that can be versatile; with this pick he can provide much depth for the Ravens in the interior O-linemen position.

                          Third Round:

Pick#90-CB Ras I Dowling- Ht:  6-2, Wt: 205, School: Virginia

The Ravens select Ras I Dowling and finally draft a cornerback with a height of 6’2”. Ras- I- Dowling has all the tools to become a very good cornerback in this league and becoming the next shut down cornerback in due time.  Ras-I-Dowling  will be considered a  steal for the Ravens because he has first round quality but the injuries he recently have been going has dropped his stock this far.

                        Fourth round;

Pick# 122- Olb/Ilb Mark Herzlich 6-4 238, School: Boston College

Mark Herzlich is said to be emotional leader on field and what could be better then to have him learn from the best linebacker of all time/ emotional leader Ray Lewis.  Mark Herzlich doesn’t have speed like a Bart Scott/Tavares Gooden but he makes that up with good instinct. Ray Lewis/Ed Reed play with good instinct and we all know good instincts leads to a player become a playmaker

                       Sixth Round:

Pick#184- FB Henry Hynoski  Ht: 6-2 Wt: 262 , School: Pittsburgh

Head Coach John Harbuagh clearly stated he wants to have a big physical fullback that could run the ball a little bit, run routes, and pass protect. Henry Hypnosis could provide just about everything John Harbaugh is looking for and probably become the next Lorenzo Neal.

Pick#186:- WR Ricardo Lockette Ht199 6-3 School: Fort Valley State

Ricardo Lockette could provide the Ravens with blazing speed and its was reported that he was the second fastest   player to Run the 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine. Ricardo Lockette could provide depth for the Ravens at the kick returner/punt returner position and provide the Ravens with a speedy vertical threat.

                     Seventh Round:

Pick# 217-T David Mims Ht: 6-8, Wt: 348, School: Virginia

David Mims has all the totals to be a successful right tackle/left tackle and some may consider him a project player but in my opinion every player coming from the draft needs some kind of help by coaches. David Mims plays aggressive, has good strength, good run blocker, long arms, and has good size; The Ravens lack an aggressive o-line last year and I’m sure they are still looking for that next Jonathan Ogden but with this selection they may have a steal on their hands.

No chance that trade with the Pats happens

They live on being annoying and collecting picks. They don’t go around handing out 2nd rounders.

Ha!

I agree. It is the Patriots way.

I figure the Patriots would probably draft a outside linebacker and a Offensive Guard/Tackle

in this year draft. The Patriots still have a need at the running back position and I have a feeling Runningback Mikel Leshourse will still be around at our pick who I’m pretty sure the patriots are interested in and they don’t want to risk any other team picking him.

I figure he would no one thought that Sergio Kindle would drop so far and be taking in the

second round last year plus we all know that Ras-I Dowling has experience some injuries lately in his senior year and at this year combine. I pretty sure that has drop his stock very much and he hasn’t been talked about much or if at all lately.I dont really expect Mims be their in the seventh round but i couldn’t think of anybody else at the time but he could still be there

I commented on the baltimore site as well and I would love if the draft happened this way, but it’s very hard to predict trades, Brooks Reed is flying up boards and could easily find himself in the 1st round and I don’t think Dowling falls that far. I see someone taking a chance on him in late 2nd to early 3rd. GB and Pitt could both target him at the end of the 2nd and work him into their already great defenses.

Pats trading

It is a mock, they could see someone fall to 27 that they want.

This has nothing to do with the trade proposed in this post, but I do believe that the Pats may use some of their picks to move up. The Pats had alot of picks last year and many of these young players contributed. Not sure how many total picks they have this year, but there may not be room on the team for all of them. Bill is not predictable, he could use two or even three picks to move up and get a major stud. Von Miller, Fairly, etc

They definitely could. They have 2 picks in each of the first 3 rounds and 3 in the top 33.

I hate the Patriots

They are just ridiculous in how they keep re-arming for the draft year and after year.

tell me about it, I would love to see what Ozzie could do with 3 of the top 33 picks.

If this happened. I would be ecstatic

But I dont think this happens – least not w the pats, maybe some scrub teams like the jags or someone

I was going to have the Ravens draft him in the second round with my mock but

I seen some scouts having him being taking in the third round. Ras- I- Dowling is worthy to be picked in the second round but its still possible that he could drop to the third round becuase of the recent injuries he has been going through and he didnt get to perform fully at the combine because he hurt his hamstring.

I really like this guy and he really seems to be a good fit for the Ravens

hopefully we’ll trade back to the second and get him

How do you know that? Is that really you Rex Ryan can I get your autograph lol

but for real its not telling where reed will be draft or what team will draft him but hopefully it be the Ravens if not its still alot more defensive talents out there that are better or have same amount of upside as him
