Quinton Carter NFL Draft scouting report
Quinton Carter
6'1, 208 pounds | Free safety | Oklahoma
Strengths: Carter is a safety loaded with speed and power. He's played both free and strong, which will help him get on the field quickly in the NFL. In pass coverage, he can play man, zone and bracket coverage. He's best when playing over the top with a corner underneath. He's very good supporting against the run and is quick to break up field. Has a free-flowing game where he works sideline-to-sideline with good effect. Can be effective as a traditional wrap-up tackler, but likes to lower his head and hit. Can be an intimidator in the deep center. Teams stayed away from his part of the field at times.
Final word: Carter is one of the better all-around safeties in this year's class. He's experienced in several different styles of pass defense and is a good run defender. He also has the skill set to be a thumper of a safety who teams can use as a last line of defense enforcer.

From what I have found on Carter
Excellent character, started his own foundation working with youngsters.
"We feel very strongly that our best policy is to draft the best player. This isn't fantasy football." - Ted Thompson
Could be possible Raven pick?
I don’t expect Dawan Landry to return and Nakamura and Zbikowski are not All-Stars. If available in Rd. 3, I could see Quinton Carter getting a look from the Wizard of OZ. Oh, and yes Ed Reed ain’t getting any younger either.
Quick poll: What round do you rate Carter as being of proper value in?
Note: This isn’t a question about what round you think he’ll actually get chosen at. Rather, it’s a question of what round you think he’s got the proper value in. Or in plain english: Is he a first round talent? Second round? Third? Etc.
The reason I’m asking is because I’ve seen some places rank him as high as a second round pick, and others as a 4th to 5th. No one ranks him as a first, and no one ranks him as a seventh or 6th, but other than that, the opinions cover 4 rounds. That’s a pretty wide range, I think, and it’s surprising to me. So, I’m curious about what other folks think.

I say late 2nd, early 3rd.
Probably early 3rd.

That's close to what I was thinking myself (solid second rounder).
Anyone else?

On pure physical ability, probably a 2nd or 3rd. However, if you are talking what round would his production be in (would he produce like a 1st rounder or 2nd rounder), I think he will be an early 2nd.
To me, he compares a lot to Brodney Pool, and not just because they went to Oklahoma. Both were solidly built FS/SS combo safeties who also had good speed/athleticism. Both were aggressive hitters, sometimes too aggressive at times. Carter will never be a star Safety, but he will be a very good starter for many years if he can stay healthy.

Intensive Purposes? I could care less...
your whole argument is a fallacy!
