2011 SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: Round 2, Pick 39
Our annual 2011 NFL Mock Draft, with picks made by each of SB Nation's NFL team bloggers, is in full swing. The latest pick in to the podium: the Tennessee Titans, at No. 39 overall.
With the 39th overall pick in the 2011 SB Nation NFL Writers Mock Draft, the Tennessee Titans select Bruce Carter, outside linebacker, North Carolina.
Jimmy Morris of MusicCityMiracles.com explains the choice, and our own Dan Kadar reacts to it, after the jump. Make sure you're grading this pick for the Titans, and checking out Music City Miracles for all of your Titans needs.
Jimmy Morris explains: What you have seen play out here is about the worst thing that could possibly happen for the Titans. They desperately need a QB with one of their first two picks, but Colin Kaepernick seems like a reach with this pick. He is at least a two-year project, and I am not sold on him being a franchise quarterback.
The Titans' biggest need outside of quarterback is OLB, and Carter is a really good value at this pick. He would be a first-round pick if it weren’t for the ACL injury he suffered last November. He should be 100 percent healthy by the time the Titans take the field to start preparations for the 2011 season.
Dan Kadar reacts: This is another good linebacker pick and solid value. Carter had the potential to be a top 15 player heading into the 2010 season. He's that good and could be again. What he probably needs the most is a coach who will push him hard. There may be no better fit then than Tennessee where Mike Munchak is taking over. If Carter becomes and NFL success, his coaches might be the biggest reason why. [Bruce Carter Scouting Report]
With that, the Dallas Cowboys - and our friends at Blogging the Boys - are now on the clock.

Beast
This kid is a pure beast. When he’s healthy there aren’t many playmakers around as good as he is. Let’s not forget he lost alot of the talent on the team due to suspension. Butch Davis put together some college defense. It’s a shame that this unit couldn’t play together cause it would have been special to watch. You have Robert Quinn and Marvin Austin who are first round talents on the defensive line. Bruce Carter and quan Sturdivant at the LB position. In the defensive backfield you have Deunta Williams and Burney. We are talking about 3 first round talents in Quinn, Austin, and Carter. Sturdivant will surely be a 2nd round pick(maybe 3rd), and Burnet and Deunta will be round 2-3 as well. Would have been a special defense to watch.
