NFL Draft successes and busts 10-year evaluation: 7th overall bust
Over the next few weeks, we'll evaluate the best and worst top 10 picks in a 10-year span from 1999-2008. We capped this at 2008 because it's unfair to judge first- or second-year players. Today, the pick seven bust.
Pick: Seven overall
The player: Troy Williamson | Wide receiver | Minnesota Vikings (2005)
How bad was Troy Williamson for the Vikings? The team traded him after just two seasons to Jacksonville for a sixth-round pick. He did just as little there as he did in Minnesota.
Williamson was a one-trick wide receiver. If it wasn't a vertical route, he couldn't run it. Even when he did, he didn't have the hands to always make a catch. For his career, Williamson has 87 receptions for 1,131 yards and four touchdowns. That's a solid season, but an awful five-year career.
There is one positive for Williamson, though. If this series is rejoined in a year, he'll probably be replaced by the Raiders' Darrius Heyward-Bey.

I doubt the Raiders give up on Heyward-Bey after next season.
Just saying.
The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. Lastly, her wonderlic score was pretty awful, answering "meow meow meow" for most of the questions- Dr. Brackish Okun
I can't wait we get to 4th overall busts.
Aaron Curry was a bust the moment he took the field.
Seahawks please draft Ryan "Monster" Mallett or Jake "Montlake Messiah" Locker!
till we get.

Haha, that post (the one in your sig) was so hopeful
And everyone was so giddy.
I’m pretty sure there’s been worse 4th-overall-picks though…
I certainly wasn't.
I thought drafting Curry would be the worst possible outcome for the Seahawks.

With all due respect to Mr. Curry, Mike Williams, OT (Texas) begs to differ.

4th overall seems to be a pretty snakebitten slot.
Aside from Williams and Curry, Cedric Benson and Peter Warrick readily come to mind.

Curry doesn't even compete for 4st overall bust
Fearless is just being Fearless.

1999 – 2008, don’t think your boy will make the list this year.

That 2005 draft was an abomination
Al Davis must have made that pick for the Vikes.

I don't know...
I kinda liked it! Got me Rodgers and Nick Collins… LMAO Guess you just need better GM/talent evaluators!
You've been Stroh'd™!!!
Good one
We have. In case you haven’t noticed we’ve drafted Chad Greenway, Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin with our last three 1st rounders.
Skol!
That doesn't matter to him
You see, he’s an idiot.
