A SBN Site for Basketball Draft Fans
I noticed there were a couple people discussing the NBA Draft a while back and wondering if MTD would focus on that at all. MTD is a football site, and they do a great job of that. Asking them to cover the NBA Draft as well would require recruiting new writers and would put more strain on a group of guys who already do a tremendous job at what they do. But don't worry, there is already an SBN site where you can discuss the NBA Draft - Ridiculous Upside.
Ridiculous Upside is a site run by Scott Schroeder, a man who knows his basketball. It is a site that focuses on prospective NBA players. Right now they are featuring stories about the NBA Draft, particularly about the draft combine and team workouts. RU's specialty is the under-the-radar guys, such as Jeremy Tyler or Michael Dunigan.
During the season RU operates as the SBN home for NBA Develpomental League coverage. You could also find an article or two about prospects paying overseas.
If you are a basketball fan, you should definitely add RU to your favorite blogs list. Come check us out!
If it's deemed spam, it gets deleted.

I hope this is OK Dan.
Like I said, a couple people were wondering about NBA DRaft coverage, so I thought I’d share about RU.

I'm a new member over there,
I just joined a few days ago. It’s just like MTD except NBA instead of NFL.

Excellent first post BTW. Have you been back to check the responses? You got another comment about as long as mine.

I’ll try to contribute some comments to the posts there. I have always been a NBA draft junkie nearly as much as I am for the NFL draft.
The NBA draft kind of sucks this year, not too much talent in the first round, but I know a good bit about the players. Mostly the guys who will go lottery. I also have a heavy insight on the ACC as I follow Maryland basketball very closely as well as the best conference in the country.
"No disrespect to Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara, but I just think I have better cover skills. They get tested a lot, and that’s for a reason. The other team sees something in their game that they want to attack, and me playing in the same league as Prince, we played the same teams and they didn’t attack me the same. So why does that happen?" - CB Jimmy Smith
NBA draft seems to lack stars
but saying it sucks and lacks talent shows you’ve been re-hashing the same crap about this year’s draft.
There’s a ton of solid role players in the draft and a lot of guys that will find their way in rotations. Irving and Derrick Williams probably are the only 2 stars unless Kemba Walker really is that good. But someone like Kenny Faried or Klay Thompson do one thing, and do it really well. That makes them good role players and have very little chance of being a bust.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
Yep.
It’s a weak draft in terms of the “depth” picks starting midway through the lottery. The other problem is half of the lottery talent is likely going to be Euros, which is always a risk.

You're more than welcome MaLoR.
Your insights would be a great complement to what is already done at RU.

I could care less about the NBA draft execpt..
KEMBAAAA. He better go in the top 5. Hopefully a decent team, too.
Top 5 doesn't equal decent team

Well the Cavs could get him and another beast like Derrick Wiliams
And then they would be a decent team.
Eh...
A) I don’t think Kemba is that good and B) 2 players does not a team make.

Well
You’re absoluetely out of your mind if you don’t think Kemba Walker is that good, since he was the best player in college basketball last year and should have won the award instead of Jimmer (who isn’t a team player like Kemba is).
And second, a team with some pretty good players that helped LeBron when he was in Cleveland and two stars players from the draft can make an okay team, that’s a fact.
I didn't state that very well.
Kemba is a good player, but I don’t think his game will translate to the NBA that well.
They were the 2nd worst team in the league for a reason. Here’s the roster: Baron Davis, Ramon Sessions, Daniel Gobson, Anthony Parker, Manny Harris, Alonzo Gee, Christian Eyenga, Joey Graham, Luke Harangody, J.J. Hickson, Antawn Jamison, Samardo Samuels, Anderson Varejao, Ryan Hollins, Semih Erden.
LeBron basically was that team, and even then many of the rotation players are gone from his teams: Shaq, Ilgauskas, Jamario Moon, Mo Williams.

Absolutely.
I would suggest that those of you who have checked out the site and like what they see tell your friends at your other SB sites about it.
I’m working really hard to get the name out there. I’m very happy with the amount of new members so far, but the more the merrier!
