What teams will hold home field this year? (If there's even a season)

In my opinion, there's 4 or 5 teams that can run the table, have the best record in their conference, and hold home field advantage through the playoffs. Although home field doesn't always prove to be better seeing as how my Jets beat New England on the road and Green Bay beat Atlanta and Chicago on the road to get to the Superbowl.

In the AFC, I think that the Jets, Patriots, Steelers, Ravens, and Chargers can all hold the top seed in the playoffs. Alot of people will argue the Colts, but Peyton Manning can only take them so far.

In the NFC, I think the Cowboys, Eagles, Saints, Falcons, and Green Bay can all run the table. The Giants are way too inconsistent and Josh Freeman's Bucs are still too young.

What are your thoughts and what will the top teams' record be that hold home field?

Baltimore Ravens

Flacco's first 3 years vs. Brady's, Manning's and Brees' first 3 years

Flacco threw for just 21 fewer passing yards than Brady and tossed four fewer interceptions. Flacco threw for 1,655 more yards than Brees, two more touchdowns and four fewer picks. Manning, who averaged 88 more passes per season, threw for way more yards and touchdowns than Flacco, but also tossed 24 more interceptions.

I’ll never say the Ravens are going to lose a game. They most likely will, but I will never give you which teams.

Now, please go through the 2nd easiest schedule for 2011 based on 2010 records and show me the 9 losses.

Also, I would love to hear your reasoning for why they would go 7-9.

I would think the inconsistent tag given to the Giants should also apply to the Cowboys. They are about as inconsistent as they come with the talent level on that team.

I enjoy it too when the Cowboys flop.

But then the Niners flop and I feel bad again. The perfect day is when 1. Niners win 2. Everyone else in the NFC West loses (cards won’t matter though they won’t be in contention for the nfc west division) 3. Cowboys lose

Colts had an obscene number of injuries last year, yet still managed to win their division and make the playoffs as they have every year since 2002…

…and the Chargers are in your poll? You want to talk about inconsistent?

I still think the Saints have to be the clear favorite next year, but if the Colts sign a safety (Mikell?) then I think they have a slight edge over a very crowded AFC.

Our offence was better than yours last year WITHOUT a running game. Insert Mark Ingram and the rest of our backs fully healed. Our defence was worse than yours last year, and I don’t see that changing. However, I do see us closing the gap in that respect. Cam Jordan will push Alex Brown out of the starting lineup, hopefully Jon Casillas and Martez Wilson can do the same with Scott Shanle. Malcolm Jenkins will just get better, the same can be said about Tracy Porter and Patrick Robinson. Jabari Greer has been a top 10 corner since joining New Orleans in 2009. Greg Romeus is a wild card, when he gets healthy he can wreak havoc. That’s why.

I don’t know that makes you clear favorites. GB was probably the least healthy team in the league and still won it all. Their offense is not far off of New Orleans and some could argue is just as good. Also it’s a little unrealistic to automatically have all your rookies turn into legitimate starters right from the get go. I really don’t think their is a clear favorite because you could make cases for about 5 or 6 teams with realistic chances at winning it all. This is not trying to say New Orleans doesn’t have a chance because they are certainly one of those contenders, but they are not far and away the best team by any means.

Green Bay may have been the least healthy overall, but if you look specifically at RB, we had way more injuries. PJ Hill, Lynell Hamilton, Chris Ivory, Reggie and PT all missed significant time due to injury. Insert Julius Jones, Deshawn Wynn, Ladell Betts and Joique Bell. Can anyone else tell me the last year ANY of the guys were effectively used as a number 1 back? That’s what I thought. Look at our pass-run ratio in 2009 and then again in 2010. We were forced to throw the ball way too much because we didn’t have a single running back capable of getting yardage without coughing up the ball.

I agree about rookies- I can always hope though. Ingram couldn’t have gone to a better situation- top tier QB and a stable of RB so that he doesn’t have to carry the load the whole season. Cam Jordan will probably start week 1, if only because Will Smith will be serving a 4-game suspension. When he gets back, I expect Jordan to move to LDE and take Brown’s spot. Wilson and Romeus are just wishful thinking at this point- especially with a shortened offseason. I don’t see Wilson starting until late this year, if at all, because of the time it will take him to properly learn Gregg Williams defence. And obviously, Romeus is still injured, so I’m just hoping he makes it back sometime in the season.

We didn’t have a running game either. Ryan Grant, our perennial 100 yard rusher, went down in the 1st game. Brandon Jackson is a tremendous 3rd-down blocking a receiving back, but he’s incompetent as a runner. James Starks was a rookie who spent most of the season on PUP. Grant will be back and Starks will get a full year to prove what he can do.

The passing games are nearly identical. Our teams have 2 of the best receiving corps in the entire league, and Rodgers and Brees are on the same level. But your OL is vastly superior to ours, yet Rodgers still was able to put up big numbers and go all the way. The OL should be better with Bulaga moving into his second year and possibly T.J. Lang taking Daryn Colledge’s job. We also get Jermichael Finley back, one of the biggest mismatches in the game.

Our defense is clearly superior to yours. Dom Capers is a genius and he has plenty of weapons at his disposal. We have young studs like Clay Matthews, B.J. Raji, Tramon Williams, Des Bishop, and Sam Shields along with some proven vets like Hawk and Woodson. We have playmakers at every level of the defense.

I didn’t even mention any rookies like you did, mostly because our team is so deep that most of them won’t have a big impact this year. Randall Cobb could be a nice weapon for Rodgers to throw to, and the coaches have said they are going to get him on the field and get him some looks. We also took Alex Green who should provide solid depth in case Grant goes down again.

See? I can do it too.

You have to throw in the Ravens and Jets into that mix. With the Ravens, Jets and Steelers pretty much every game comes down to 1 or 2 plays and it’s usually a coin flip who will win those match ups.

agreed that we have came on the wrong side in the playoffs, but we were there at the end of every game and with Flacco progressing every season it’s not crazy to think we can’t change that around. They they have to be an option to vote for,

I don’t think they will win it, or be in it, but they will win atleast 10 games again and be pretty good. Certainly better than the damn Cowboys. Every year the Cowboys are projected to win the SB by a few sports writers, and they never even get close. And then the next season “I think this is the season they finally put it together. They have too much talent”. Sure, that’s why they keep missing the playoffs and firing coaches.
