well I'm still not big on spending a high pick on Peyton's successor yet

but if the Colts somehow where in position for Luck, I couldn’t be upset with getting him, although I’d probably prefer the king’s ransom they could get trading back with Luck on the board.

Perhaps

I wasn’t doing trades in this mock…but yeah, that seem likely. In any case, there were rumors that Colts were interested in Dalton or Kaepernick before the draft, and added to the fact that Peyton is recovering from surgery…

I don't buy any rumors about the Colts draft

Bill Polian murders leakers with his bare hands. If it came from the Colts org, it was mostly aimed at trying to get someone to trade up to their spot. Which became irrelevant when a guy they really didn’t expect to fall to them was there.

You got one thing right.

The Bengals will, indeed, be picking 32nd. :)

His floor is very large

Even if he seems a little slow he’s one of the safer picks in the First.

No you're drafting him because he's a damn good player

And is already well prepared to handle the 3-4 OLB position

I'm a fan of Upshaw

I have him as a mid-1st round grade simple because of CWP said….extremely high floor, and could be a rock in run support, and isn’t too shabby at rushing the passer either

Get Better, Not Bitter.

by BigBlueIntervention on Jul 19, 2011 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions

I'd say he's at his best rushing the passer

His hand is on the ground most of the time IIRC

Dre Kirkpatrick would be awesome

Unless, of course, one of the new guys shows Devin McCourty-like flash, then we should take Luck…Just to keep him away from everyone else.

Perfect for next time Ben gets suspended.

Flacco's first 3 years vs. Brady's, Manning's and Brees' first 3 years

Flacco threw for just 21 fewer passing yards than Brady and tossed four fewer interceptions. Flacco threw for 1,655 more yards than Brees, two more touchdowns and four fewer picks. Manning, who averaged 88 more passes per season, threw for way more yards and touchdowns than Flacco, but also tossed 24 more interceptions.

For the last time

He can’t get suspended for “raping” your secondary. It is a figurative term, not literal.

Yes, so instead

they probably take Coples first overall to put across Clay Matthews. Most of their other rush OLBs are either bums or just not that good.

Eh,

bums is harsh. Unless you’re talking about Brady Poppinga.

I’d go with “serviceable” for the Jones-Walden-Zombo trio.

Poppinga= SuperBum

And the rest of our OLBs are just average guys, unless Zombo improves to this year. Walden and Jones can’t really improve much IMO they’ve both been around a while.

Hybrid Theory.

Right behind Meteora as LP’s best album, nice!!!

by JetKing55 on Jul 17, 2011 9:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Hybrid, Meteora and MtM are all tied.

MtM had a bit softer sound than the first two, which I didn’t have a problem with I thought it was great. But I’ve been taking opinions from fans: How do you feel about A Thousand Suns? I mean, I look at Itunes reviews and there are so haters; people who say “I’m a fan of LP but this album is garbage. What are they a techno group now?”

Personally, I thought it was worse than the first 3, but I listen to a wide variety of music so I thought it was still pretty good. I respect a band who changes its sound, some groups release 8 albums that sound the exact same. And plus, they made it clear that it was a “concept album” so I expected it to sound different, and perhaps softer.

by BlackPack-fan on Jul 19, 2011 4:22 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not the type that is going to hate on LP for trying something different

…but different doesn’t necessarily mean better. Some of the songs were good like “When they come for me,” “Wretches and Kings,” and “Burning in the Skies”…but the rest…jeez, it was like listening to gray noise on the tv. Just horrible.

And Hybrid Theory FTW….I can’t think of one….not ONE song I didn’t love from that album. Meteora was similarly brilliant, but “Easier to Run” was one of the worst songs I’ve heard. Minutes to Midnight had some good, some bad, but alot of it was forgettable.

Get Better, Not Bitter.

by BigBlueIntervention on Jul 19, 2011 6:24 PM EDT up reply actions

Minutes to Midnight was a downer for me.

To soft and just not the LP I liked. Only good song there was “Somewhere I Belong” in my opinion.

Mike Vrabel was 280+

And Coples has more athleticism then he does.

by ChiefWarPaint on Jul 24, 2011 8:39 PM EDT up reply actions

280+?

Try 260.

If Coples is 270, he can play OLB, he just won’t be dropping back much unless he moves like Lawrence Taylor.

Demarcus Ware is an OLB

but might as well be a DE, he had what, like 6 dropbacks the entire season? I envision the same sort of thing for Coples. Also, see Mario Williams, who IS 280 and slated to be an OLB

Ware averaged 4 drops vs the pass per game last year.

Williams, being some 20 lbs bigger, will probably have less than that.
