NFL lockout: Top UDFA's at quarterback
With the NFL lockout coming to an end soon, undrafted players from the 2011 NFL Draft will finally be able to sign with teams. Over the next couple days we'll look at some of the top available players your team may be considering. Today, the quarterbacks.
Ben Chappell | 6'2, 242 pounds | Indiana
At times in 2010, Chappell put up big numbers for the Hoosiers. He is above-average across the board, but plays with a lot of toughness.
Pat Devlin | 6'4, 227 pounds | Delaware
No player saw their stock drop worse in the postseason as much as Devlin. He was exposed as having a bad arm and plying poorly in the face of the blitz. On game days he turns it on, but may struggle to get that chance.
Mike Hartline | 6'5, 210 pounds | Kentucky
A long, lanky QB with average accuracy and footwork. Hartline has a nice arm, but tends to throw off his back foot.
Scott Tolzien | 6'2, 209 pounds | Wisconsin
Tolzien is purely a game manager type of QB with below-average arm strength. Because of his height, Tolzien has some trouble at times seeing over the line. When he has a window in the short and middle areas, he's an accurate passer.
Adam Weber | 6'1, 221 pounds | Minnesota
In this year's draft, few quarterbacks had bette pure mechanics than Weber. He has a good but not great arm to make throws to all parts of the field. If he can improve his football IQ and make better decisions, Weber could develop into a real find.

I am a big fan of Adam Froman
I think he has the talent to be a very good #2 QB, extremely athletic & very smart & maybe in time develop into a starter. Not very impressed with any of the other names on this list, especially Devlin
A couple good guys here
Chappell is off most people’s radar but he gets credit for making people notice his receivers. No telling what he could have done on a better team.
Portis showed a good arm at the combine, we’ll see if someone feels like taking a risk.
Tolzien will be a 3rd-stringer somewhere because he’s got the head for it.
Devlin will be a long-term project somewhere.
"Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun."
The Bills are apparently interested in Weber.
The player I would like least at #9 would be my sister’s cat, Captain Creamsicle. She does have a great work ethic and agility, but I’m really concerned that at 9 lbs., she’s too small to play safety in the NFL. She also bites way too often on play action and is easily distracted by someone waving string in the crowd. Lastly, her wonderlic score was pretty awful, answering "meow meow meow" for most of the questions- Dr. Brackish Okun
