Red Flag Alert: Janoris Jenkins
The Red Flag Alert will focus on NFL prospects that have situations that might raise concerns. These could be injury issues, character problems, runs in with the law, or anything that might impact their future. One thing to keep in mind with the Red Flag Alert is that some of the accusations will be just rumors but the majority of our reports will come from reliable sources. Don't expect to see a report about a rumor about a former college roommate or something to that affect. However, the fact remains that every rumor or issue could impact a players draft stock.
Many felt that Janoris Jenkins was going to enter the 2011 draft and likely be selected in the 1st round. However, he decided to return to Florida for his Senior season. Shortly after deciding to return to school, Jenkins was arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana charge which was his second in less than 6 months. As a result of the arrest, Jenkins was dismissed from the Florida football team. He has since enrolled at North Alabama with the hopes of repairing his image and fixing his draft stock.
Jenkins off the field issues will no doubt impact his draft stock. Even with a trouble free season, Jenkins will likely slide and is looking like a day two selection. One more off the field mistake could cost Jenkins a chance at playing in the NFL.

he's way too talented to not be an NFL prospect
he may never be a first rounder, but the farther he falls in the draft the more he’ll be a steal for some team.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
We're not in a position to be picky
Let’s just grab him now.

"Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun."
I do not count weed as a red flag
Only Ricky managed to stay faded for so long that he forgot about football. Jenkins is a DB that can do it all, he will be drafted high. Pun very much intended
Winning
Shouldn't be a red flag, but...
It is the arrests and the continued poor decisions that led to his dismissal that is the red flag. Just consider how Percy Harvin fell because he popped hot on a drug test. I can’t imagine Jenkins not falling for something far more serious: a lengthy police record before he evens gets a snap in the NFL.
