BBI's 2010 RE-DRAFT

Doing this because, well, we should always look to the past. Also, this is a stopgap to prevent me from doing a 2012 mock draft and thereby preventing me from diving fully in and making me fail my classes. Enjoy peeps.

Star-divide

1) St. Louis                                    Sam Bradford, QB  (Franchise QB was absolutely the right decision)

2) Detroit                                        Ndamukong Suh, DT (Just a monster)

3) Tampa Bay                               Carlos Dunlap, DE (Highly underrated because he plays in Cincy. Oozes talent.)

4) Washington                              Rodger Saffold, OT (Prototypical LT. Allowed only 2 sacks all year.)

5) Kansas City                              Eric Berry, S (Everything was as advertised)

6) Seattle                                       Colt McCoy, QB (A WTF pick, but he's looking more and more like the franchise QB)

7) Cleveland                                 Mike Williams, WR (Surprised the league with a top 10 performance at WR)

8) Oakland                                    Devin McCourty, CB (Losing Nnamdi hurts less now)

9) Buffalo                                       Dez Bryant, WR (Ridiculous potential if he keeps his pants around his waist)

10) Jacksonville                          Jason Pierre-Paul, DE (A monster during 2nd half of the season and preseason)

11) San Francisco                      Maurkice Pouncey, C (Pro bowler that solidifies the position after they lose Baas)

12) San Diego                             Earl Thomas, S ( Was Mr. Everything for Seattle)

13)  Philadelphia                        Russell Okung, OT (Pairing Okung with Jason Peters would give them an elite OL)

14) Seattle                                   Trent Williams, OT (Seattle gets a franchise OT to help out Colt)

15) New York Giants                  Aaron Hernandez, TE (Was a monster at TE and replaces Boss)

16) Tennessee                           Gerald McCoy, DT (Looked awesome in limited action)

17) San Francisco                      Joe Haden, CB (A shutdown corner for Cleveland. He could really help San Fran)

18) Pittsburgh                         Tyson Alualu, DE (High motor guy would be a perfect fit for the Pitt D)

19)  Atlanta                                    Rolando McClain, ILB (Monster in the middle of the D)

20) Houston                                  T.J. Ward, S (Wasn't originally a first rounder, but sure as hell played like one)

21) Cincinnati                                Jahvid Best, RB (Electrifying when healthy, great COP back with Cedric Benson)

22) Denver                                     Nate Allen, S (Had a very solid rookie year for the Eagles)

23) Green Bay                               Lamarr Houston, DE (Will make the loss of Cullen Jenkins palatable)

24) Dallas                                      Mike Iupati, OG (Elite prospect that can either step in at RG or learn behind Kosier)

25) Denver                                    LeGarrette Blount, RB (Surprised everybody. Could take over for Knowshon)

26) Arizona                                    Alterraun Verner, CB (Makes losing DRC not too bad)

27) New England                         Brandon Graham, OLB (Before going on IR, he was an efficient pass rusher)

28) Miami                                      C.J. Spiller, RB (Spiller and Bush would give them a shit ton of speed, wouldn't it?)

29) New York Jets                       Jacoby Ford, WR (Adds a huge amount of speed to a really old WR corps)

30) Detroit                                     Pat Angerer, LB (Was a strong starter for the Colts...I'd imagine he fits right in Detroit)

31) Indianapolis                          Jared Veldheer, OT (Is a starting caliber OT, so you know Peyton's gonna approve)

32) New Orleans                         Kyle Wilson, CB (Toss up between Wilson and Kareem Jackson for me)

If the Giants were taking a TE there, it would have been Gresham. Better blocker.

I should say

I think Houston is better. I actually think he’s the 3rd best player from this draft.

Houston is no doubt an awesome player...but positional value dictated that I take

a pass rushing DE over a DT

Houston

Can play both and does with the Raiders

I'm not sure you can use the Raiders as an example of where people can play

You need another layer of foil on your hat to keep out the signals the aliens are using to control Al Davis.

I’m not sure their experiments with Houston, Seymour, Wimbley, and Scott, among others, has helped them at all.

I was stoked when the Bengals picked him up in round two.

I know it adds to the “thug” image, but Dunlap is a beast. His talent was too good to pass up.

Miguel Cairo is so last week.

I think the Jags would still redraft Alualu

He has been in the backfield constantly and needs two blockers to keep him out of the play. He’s looked very good this preseason so we’ll see how he does. He showed big time fatigue last season, but then again he played a ridiculous amount of snaps. If we were to take someone else though, I would have probably taken Thomas because he would make our S position pretty good now with Landry. Cant argue with a DE though since it is still a question mark.

by Dwalk1217 on Sep 1, 2011 8:36 AM EDT reply actions

I was definitely considering both Thomas and Alualu, but

I was along your thinking, you guys got Dawan Landry, and DE > DT in terms of positional value…though Alualu is a tremendous player

Aaron Hernandez would be a bad pick

he’s a clone of Beckum and so far it seems they don’t know how to use him. So having two of them doesn’t make any sense.

uhh top 3 is kinda a stretch

I think in order to break into top3 anything you’d have to have more than one year of games to look at (although that is not really possible for a center)

by vitzeng on Sep 1, 2011 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

He isn't top 3

and you probably haven’t watched Iupati or even heard of him considering how the major new networks refuse to talk about the 49ers or any west coast teams due to the east coast bias.

All you'd have to do is name one more player that's better than him in your eyes, and he'd be 6th.

Shouldn’t be hard to do, right? I see him as top 5 — but not top 4.

Kareem Jackson should not have been drafted in the first round.

And shouldnt be there in the redraft. The guy couldnt cover with a 15 yard cushion and kept falling down.
Hopefully alot of it is just technique and he seems to be doing alot better than in years past, but he wasnt ready to be a first rounder last year… at least not in Houston.

Let GB keep Bulaga.

Without him last year, our OL would have been really ugly. And we would be without a starting RT this year as well.

I was thinking the same thing

We definitely don’t win the Super Bowl without Bulaga last year. He struggled a bit when he first got in there, but once the playoffs started he was money….especially in the Super Bowl where him and Clifton basically stuffed Harrison and Woodley. Without having Bulaga those two eat Rodgers alive…if we even make it that far.

I don't see why we would draft a TE in the 1st round.

We barely use them. I think a great blocker we ok receiving skills at TE would good for this team and we can find that player later.

Now Joe Haden would be an awesome pick for us. Instantly he would become our best CB and be able to help slow down the great receivers in our division.

Did anyone notice the team with the most players actually drafted in 2010, that were taken in the 2010 redrafts 1st round? Yes my friends, Mike Holmgren & Tom Heckert have been doing a super top notch job in rebuilding a long talent starved Cleveland Browns Team. When the 2011 redraft is completed, I wouldn’t be suprised to see at least another 3 – 4 Browns players in the first round.
