2012 NFL Draft stock up spotlight

Photo

On Mondays throughout the season we'll spotlight some players who increased their NFL Draft stock over the weekend. Have more? Let everyone know in the comments.

Travis Lewis, OLB, Oklahoma
Lewis, arguably the best weak-side linebacker prospect in the nation, was supposed to miss Saturday's game against Florida State after breaking a toe in August. Instead, Lewis was making plays all over the field and leading Oklahoma's defense to a win. Lewis may never blow anyone away with his playmaking ability, but he's about as steady as it comes.

Star-divide

Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson
Auburn had to use double teams for much of the game on Thompson and the senior was still able to make plays. He wasn't make the kind of plays that showed in the stat column, however. Thompson was pushing the pocket the entire game, disrupting the passing lanes of Auburn's Barrett Trotter.

Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson
This year's tight end class is begging for a breakthrough player and it might be Allen. He showed the ability to consistently get open against Auburn, catching seven passes for 80 yards and a touchdown. After a slow start to the season, it was the game the athletic Allen needed to assert himself near the top of the tight end rankings.

Nick Foles, QB, Arizona
In the first half of Arizona's blowout loss, Foles did a lot of things he had to in order to help his draft stock against Stanford. He completed 17 consecutive passes and a few of them were more than his usual underneath throws. Foles had one pass, from the left hash to the right sideline for 38 yards that proved his NFL hype is legit.

Devon Still, DT, Penn State

Temple running back struggled on Saturday thanks largely to the interior play of Still. Whenever Pierce had to work the ball inside, he had trouble because Still was so active in the middle.
