2012 NFL Draft wide receiver rankings: Gap closing on Alshon Jeffery
It's still early in the college football season, but now is as good of a time as any to update individual position rankings for the 2012 NFL Draft.
Before the season started, South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery was in a class of his own at wide receiver. While he's not having a bad season, contemporaries Justin Blackmon and Michael Floyd are closing the gap. Each is a first-round prospect, as is Jeff Fuller of Texas A&M. Deeper in the class, players like Mohamed Sanu and Dwight Jones could develop into a first-round pick.
Note: The position rankings aren't currently in line with the site's top 200. After each position ranking is released, a new top 200 will be published.

Why isn't AJ Jenkins out of Illinois on your list.
He is one of the best, if not the best WR in the big 10. He has really stepped his game up this season also. Yes he may not be NFL sized 6’ 190 lbs, but with his production he is likely to go in the mid rounds in the draft.

Haven’t watched much Illinois this year, haven’t been told a lot about him.
Mocking the Draft: Talking NFL Draft all year.
He is a guy with good hands
and he has a knack for getting on top of the defense even though he doesn’t have elite sped. Runs good routes and he is dependable. Has a high ceiling, I’m thinking he’ll be a 3rd to 4th round pick.

Been hearing people putting him passed Broyles often, and I just don’t see it. He’s big, but not necessarily good.

Love the new rankings format!
Looks like a great class. There will be a lot of players falling into the second and third round and teams will get some great value picks. Hope the Cowboys won’t mind stocking up the cupboards…
I'm a little
Higher on Childs than most. I’d put him in front of Dwight Jones and Sanu.
I’m in love with Alshon Jeffery.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Alshon were to drop out of the top 10 by the end of the year.
1. Speed is a major concern with him
2. Concerns about work ethic and conditioning
3 His QB is going to sink his stock like an anchor.
