Praise high for Baylor WR Kendall Wright
The biggest knock on 5-foot-10 Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright is his size. But just how good is the senior wide receiver? According to Tony Pauline of SI.com/DraftInsider.net, he's considered to be quite good by NFL scouts.
Earlier this week we were alerted that several teams, including one NFC team in the playoffs this weekend, grade Wright as the top wide out in the draft. After several conversations with scouts and league insiders we found out this is not an anomaly- many decision makers rate Kendall Wright higher than his Big 12 counterpart (Justin Blackmon).
At the Senior Bowl, Wright will get to validate that claims and show he's not a product of Robert Griffin III and the Baylor spread offense. Unlike many shorter wide receivers, Wright is much more than simply a slot receiver. He's fast enough to get vertical outside and has surprising strength to beat the jam. Wright is coming off a dominant senior season of 108 receptions for 1,663 yards and 14 touchdowns. His year included two games of more than 200 yards receiving.
I'm in the process of rebuilding the site's rankings, which will have Wright behind Blackmon and Notre Dame's Michael Floyd. For now, read Pauline's full report here. Our friends at NewEraScouting have a report up on Wright here.

I'm really impressed by his big catch ability and speed, especially off the line
but I see Floyd and Alshon as having a lot more potential
Reminds me of Lee Evans
After seeing for years how Evans could not take over a game without receiving multiple deep shots each half, I think I’d rather pass for someone with more height and athleticism.

Evans is good. I was thinking Mike Wallace too.

Pretty sure
The Broncos like him.

I reckon it has something to do with that signature of his.
Maybe spamming his site on their boards? Idk, just a guess.
He was throwing around a lot of F Yous to imaginary trolls after their win apparently.

I would rather the Browns us the #22 on Wright instead of Floyd. I just dont trust any player from ND, plain and simple. That would be a great pick, especially if Cleveland uses #4 on RGIII. The QB & WR would already have a repore’, and add in a FA WR like Vince or Desean, the Browns offense would look a lot different next season.

Dan's buddies at www.newerascouting.com begins their analysis of Wright like this :
“By today’s wide receiver standards, it is very rare to be less than six feet tall and a first-round draft pick. During the last decade, there were 41 wide receivers drafted in the first-round, and only six of those players were shorter than six feet. NFL scouts and coaches have an infatuation with height at the wide receiver position, and will usually give the edge to a taller wide receiver if he performs similarly in other areas.”
Is this four-year starter worthy of being selected in the first round? They conclude yes, Wright “is worthy of being one of the rare first-round selections of a WR under six feet tall.”
I study draft history and tendencies quite a bit, and I agree with their analysis, but not their conclusion.
IMO Kendall Wright will NOT be a first round draft choice.
