Report: Opinions from NFL scouts vary on Robert Griffin III

Photo

In the process of preparing his first mock draft of the year, Albert Breer of NFL Network ran some things past NFL scouts and executives. The extra effort is what makes Breer one of the best NFL reporters in the business.

One of the things Breer found while talking draft is that assessments on Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III are "all over the map."

If that's true, the known is that the St. Louis Rams will get a bounty of picks trading out of the No. 2 spot. What's unknown is who the trading partner could be. The Browns, who have two first-round picks, have been conservative in the draft under general manager Tom Heckert. Could they be a team jump up? Would the first two picks from the Washington Redskins (Nos. 6 and 39) be enough? It's impossible to know right now, but with reporters like Breer digging around, we may learn soon.

This is quite the topic over at TST

Just who and how much can we get for the pick? One thing’s for sure, we’re glad Billy DeVaney isn’t around to do this draft. Problem is, you always gotta be careful what you wish for. Personally I kind of doubt we get an offer from the Browns for both of those picks in the first round. It would be nice though.

draft value charts and bidding war could drive it up

couple of 1st round picks (with one of those picks being a top 10 pick) + a 2nd round pick is a good ball park

I heard Devaney was going to ask for 2 TEs for the pick

2012 mock (Manningham resigns) - 1: Janoris Jenkins CB / Chase Minnifield CB, 2: Kevin Zeitler LG / Ben Jones C-LG / Cordy Glenn LG-RT, 3: Keenan Robinson SAM, 4: Neiko Thorpe FS, 5: Vic Ballard RB / Brandon Bolden RB

(Manningham lost) - 1: Marvin McNutt WR, 2: Kevin Zeitler LG / Ben Jones C-LG / Cordy Glenn LG-RT, 3: Keith Tandy CB, 4: Neiko Thorpe FS, 5: Vic Ballard RB / Brandon Bolden RB

Your right about Cleveland. Our leadership isn’t stupid enough to overpay for RGIII. If Allen & Shannahan lose there minds, the Rams might get some decent picks, but they need all of there picks too. The redskins are not playoff caliber and overpaying will set them back a couple years. I like Seattle for RGIII, they actually would be a playoff caliber team with a good QB. That being said, I dont see anyone meeting the retarded demands being floated around on TST.

The Rams should be able to get a 1st and 2nd at least from a team in the top ten

They could get that for Matt Kalil considering how valuable LT’s are. Last year Washington gave up I think #16 and their 2nd round pick for #10. Jumping from 6 to 2 should at least bring the same, and I think Washington could offer something like that. Washington does have some other needs, but QB is by far their biggest need. With their defense and running game, I think a good QB could put them in the playoffs in the next 2 years.

Not trying to be Bomani Jones but this could have something to do with his race for the wide spectrum of opinions.
