Ranking the 2012 Draft Prospects by Position - Running Backs
Hey guys. Today I am going to rank the RBs in order. I will rank about 20 to 25 backs. See the first five below the jump and all the rest after the jump.
1. Trent Richardson, Alabama – Richardson is the best RB in this class and its not all that close. He possesses the combination of power, speed, and vision that NFL Coaches dream of and he could be a top 10 pick if a team decides they want a star RB.
2. Lamar Miller, Miami – Miller is a fantastic talent coming off a fantastic year. He has great explosiveness and vision and he takes care of the football. He is a borderline first round prospect at this point.
3. David Wilson, Virginia Tech – Wilson has great cutting ability and great vision and combines that with good power. His top end speed is not elite but he should be a 2nd to 3rd round pick.
4. Chris Polk, Washington – Polk is a do it all back with great hands, good blocking skills, and good vision/speed. He should be a 3rd to 4th round pick.
5. Bernard Pierce, Temple – Pierce is an everydown, power back with good cutting skills and great ball security. He lacks top end speed which could limit his draft stock. I see him as a fourth round pick.
6. LaMichael James, Oregon
7. Doug Martin, Boise State
8. Cyrus Gray, Texas A&M
9. Isaiah Pead, Cincinatti
10. Vick Ballard, Mississippi State
11. Christine Michael, Texas A&M
12. Edwin Baker, Michigan State
13. Chris Rainey, Florida
14. Tauren Poole, Tennessee
15. Dan Herron, Ohio State
16. Bobby Rainey, Western Kentucky
17. Andre Ellington, Clemson
18. Mark Tyler, USC
19. Lance Dunbar, North Texas
20. Jeff Demps, Florida

David Wilson = elite speed
trust me, we are talking combine STAR
I'm sure he is fast.
But I don’t see his 40 time being faster than Trent Richardson, Lamar Miller, LaMichael James, Cyrus Gray, Chris Rainey, or Jeff Demps.

Demps isn’t gonna do the combine or the NFL I don’t think…hes gonna focus on his track career. Not sure why he is even rated

Wilson is much faster then all those guys
save for Demps or Rainey, and those two really don’t count anyway

I think David Wilson does have elite speed
But i think Lamar Miller will close the gap a little between himself and Trent Richardson, and I believe he will be a first round pick
Watched some video last night of Wilson
As well as the other top RB prospects. I had Wilson as the #4 RB prior to doing so, and he is clearly the #2 prospect in this draft after watching the tape. He may not have elite top end speed, but his quickness really jumps out. Much faster in his acceleration than either Miller or Richardson. I was also shocked that a guy listed at 205lbs was so hard to get the the ground. Very very impressive.

He is listed #7 which makes no sense since the caption says he is a 2nd or 3rd rounder
- is about right, but there is no chance he goes in the second round. 4th or 5th probably. Maybe even later.
No more all nighters for me, I looked up and down a few times and didn't see his name
Very interesting back IMO, I have him pegged around the same place you do but he does look like he has the tools to play at this level

Fairly good RB class, I think we are seeing now that there are a lot of possible sleepers @ the RB position out there now with the SPREAD offense. Some of these guys could adjust very well to a pro style offense and some not.

What about
the kid from Wyoming Avester Alexander?

Ronnie Hillman isn't even ranked?
I know San Diego State is small, but he was a top 5 rusher this past year.
He will be there next time

I like Cyrus Gray at the next level
just seems like he has good potential
I guess it's a matter of opinion between Miller and Wilson. But you really can't go wrong between the two.
I would take either one of them. Even though his stats weren’t good against michigan—including that 20 yard loss. Btw, being a Michigan fan, it was nice. However, most of the time when he got the ball, it usually took two sometimes three guys to bring him down. That’s amazing power for a guy his size. Behind a better o-line, the guy will be a beast. Hopefully the broncos select him.

LaMichael James
Because of his expertise in the spread-option, he would be a great add to the Broncos offense. However, IDK if he could be an every down ball carrier.
This signature was sacked by Von Miller.
I bleed Orange & Blue. GB².
I think Michael is returning to school
He’d do awful in the draft with his ACL tear nowhere near healed.
