2012 Senior Bowl: Five players who could breakout
Every year, players hope to elevate their NFL Draft stock with good week of practices at the Senior Bowl. Last year, a great week of practices turned Baylor offensive lineman Danny Watkins into a first-round pick. Expect some breakout prospects this week. Here are some mid-round players who could elevate their stock:
DeVier Posey, WR, Ohio State
Posey only played in three games as a senior, but has good talent and size. He can make big plays vertically but needs to show in Mobile that he can route a variety routes. While missing much of the season, Posey was passed over by several receivers in this year's class. He needs a big week to resurrect his stock, which could have a second-round ceiling.
Jamell Fleming, CB, Oklahoma
There were times during the 2011 season where Fleming looked like a star. He has good size and shut down Iowa's Marvin McNutt in the Insight Bowl. Fleming could be a second-round pick when the week is over.
Lardarius Green, TE, Louisiana-Lafayette
Green is unquestionably athletic and has a tall frame at a listed 6-foot-6. Big pass catching tight ends will be a hot commodity in this year's draft because of the success of players like Rob Gronkowski. Green had 29 receptions for 370 yards and three scores in his final four games of the season. He could ride that momentum this week.
Matt McCants, OT, Alabama-Birmingham
Amidst other offensive linemen from BCS schools, McCants could generate a lot of buzz with good play. He has a long, lean frame at 6-foot-7, 295 pounds, but really neutralized Vinny Curry of Marshall this season.
Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State
A favorite amongst draft analysts, Quick is a tall, imposing wide receiver at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds. Because of that, and playing for an FCS school, he's often compared to Marques Colston. Quick will have to answer questions this week about his speed to get up field and gain separation.

The allure of height
There’s been a lot of tall guys drafted at WR and TE recently. They are useful in getting things off the top shelves at Home Depot.
Posey displayed a lot of ability in a short time this year. Too bad he has never had a good QB.
2012 NYG mock - 1: Chase Minnifield CB, 2: Kevin Zeitler G, 3: A.J. Jenkins, WR, 4: Neiko Thorpe S, 5: Brandon Bolden RB, 6: Rishard Matthews WR, 6: some random LB, 7: BPA
