2012 NFL Draft: Redskins could be suitor in trade for No. 2 pick
There isn't much talk about the Indianapolis Colts trading out of the No. 1 pick because they want to take quarterback Andrew Luck. Because that, the St. Louis Rams can seek much more for the second overall choice.
Some NFL executives are telling Jason La Canfora of NFL Network that the Washington Redskins could be the team looking to trade up. Getting the second pick should allow the Redskins to draft Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. Should is the key word. As La Canfora points out, the Colts will perform their due diligence on Griffin.
Either way, with the second pick the Redskins could take the quarterback they so desperately need. What they'd have to likely give up is at least be an offer better than the ones the Cleveland Browns could offer. That could be their two first-round picks and their second this year. Washington would have to give up at least their first and second round picks (Nos. 6 and 39) and possibly a first-round pick in 2013.
For the Rams, they face a bounty of picks either way if they trade out. Having either pick four or six makes more sense if they want to pick someone like wide receiver Justin Blackmon. If he's not there, they'd be able to get a cornerback in either Morris Claiborne or Dre Kirkpatrick or an offensive lineman like Reilly Reiff or Jonathan Martin.

hmmmm
I think the redskins first, second, and third round picks in 2012, plus their first rounder in 2013 would be enough lol

For perspective...
the day of last years draft, there were reports that the Redskins were trying to trade up for Gabbert. In the end, they traded down to a team that wanted him. Hard to put any stock in reports this early.

Is RG3 enough of a difference maker
to be worth 3 other potential starters? I think he’s a great prospect, but I don’t see how this Redskins’ roster can sacrifice that sort of upgrade with the talent we have. Shanny had better be sure this guy is going to take us to the promised land before he bets the farm.
That said, Shanahan draft rumors are totally worthless.
Browns fan here. IMO, thats way too much to give up for Griffin. The Browns have too many holes to give up our top three picks.

I must have misread the article or Kadar is an idiot
logically, Wash would need to offer better than CLE for STL accept their offer… ok, how is their 1st and 2nd + 1st in 2013 better than what is suggested CLE will offer 1st, 1st and 2nd?? especially when CLE is at #4 vs Wash at #6
Do you think the Redskins will have a pick worse than 22nd in 2013? I don’t.
I am, though, an idiot.
