Chiefs
Kuechly is not a good fit for the Chiefs at SILB, we have WILB covered in Johnson. DeCastro should be the pick.

Chiefs
Most KC fans complaint about Belcher is he sucks in coverage. He is only asked to do that ever now and then but he is VERY weak in coverage. The issue I have with Kuechly is I dont see him as an upgrade in that aspect. Is he a better overall ILB, yes but is that little difference worth replacing Belcher for? I dont think so.
I agree with BAM on this one. If they like DeCastro enough here I dont see them trying to trade down. Just like this mock, I dont see him getting past both Ari or Dal.
What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!
Chiefs
Round 2: I dont mind that you went TE here because it is a need and one I could see them filling. I think KC would go with Allen over Fleener. Allen isnt quite the playmaker that Fleener is but he is the better blocker. I think another route KC could go here is Ta’amu. Looking on the board you have there isnt an OT worth this pick so NT could be a spot they could go if Crennel isnt happy with the progress of Powe.
-
Round 3: This is a perfect spot to take an OT. There are plenty to chose from but I dont think Potter is the guy. I think he would get shoved around way too much at RT in the NFL. He is a pretty good prospect at LT but I think the best RT/Athlete left on the board Levy Adcock. He isnt a dominate run blocker but he doesnt get beat very often. Plays with the type of intensity that would fit great next to Asamoah.
What a year! At least we have the Royals... Oh Wait!
thanks
I’m a really big Fleener fan, but I could see Allen as well.

Although with each game I hope Osi returns to the Giants
I don’t think he will. Therefore in the extremely, extremely unlikely a 6"4 265lbs pass rushing MONSTER like Mercilus is there at wherever teh Giants pick, they ain’t gonna pass on him.
That’s how they got to where they’re at. Pass rushers. Should Osi go, Mercilus comes in. But you can pretty much bet your ass that Merciulus won’t fall that far.

Jenkins is a nipplehead too
I doubt he’s above a 2nd round grade for the Giants, regardless of his talent. That and he’s 5"10, Giants don’t like small corners.

Character concerns
I think the Giants are far more willing to over look character concerns than you do, just look at their free agent signings.
Michael Boley, Bernard, Plaxico Buress
He is smaller. I don’t love Whitney either I think he’s limited and seems like a bit of an over-acheiver type
wouldn’t mind allen there, Sanu if Manningham leaves

what do those three have to do with a draft pick?
those three were proven players. They all made it in the NFL already despite whatever concerns they had (Bernard? Since when is being fat a character concern?). And I couldn’t give a rats ass about character concerns. The Giants do tho.
And Mercilus is not an overachiever. He’s projected to run under a 4.7 and at his size he’s gonna draw some Kiwanuka and Osi comparisons (I’m not comparing anyone to JPP anymore, he’s a once in a lifetime freak of nature).

Giants and character picks
The Giants have drafted questionable characters that fell past their talent level. Not sure where they draw the line for tolerance vs. talent. But they do have tolerance.
Jenkins would be a great slot CB for us. Get Rolle back to safety.
2012 NYG mock - 1: Chase Minnifield CB, 2: Kevin Zeitler G, 3: A.J. Jenkins, WR, 4: Neiko Thorpe S, 5: Brandon Bolden RB, 6: Rishard Matthews WR, 6: some random LB, 7: BPA
they draw the line in the first and 2nd round.

Jenkins is looking impressive at the SB and it doesn't seem like teams are making a 'huge deal' about it.

wouldn't doubt that he's playing well, he's a real good player
but some teams take certain things into account more then others, the Giants one of them. And I don’t think the Giants are extremely worried about the senior bowl right now so I wouldn’t really include them in there.
Also they really haven’t seemed to value the senior bowl much, they prefer the juniors with higher upside. The Eagles like the senior bowl much more (LOL).

good point about Osi

Saints
Meh. You really didn’t address our biggest needs, OLB and DE, while speculating that we will lose Carl Nicks (not happening, he is priority two, right behind Brees. He’ll get paid) and giving us a guard in the second round. I’m okay with Cole in the 3rd, but again I’d rather an OLB or a DE. Corner and QB aren’t the biggest of needs. OT wouldn’t surprise me.
Drew Brees- the REAL MVP.
they are going to have to really figure out their money situation to afford both

Not at all.
We all expect two of the big 3 (Brees, Nicks, Colston) to be back. Unfortunately, most of us see Colston as the odd man out. Will Smith could get cut, and unless Tracy Porter and Robert Meachem are willing to come back for cheap, they are likely gone as well.
Drew Brees- the REAL MVP.
Cardinals
I’m perfectly fine with the Decastro pick. Nothing flashy, but he will be a solid piece to our line for, hopefully, along time. Makes even more sense with Rieff and Martin already gone. Just a note, i don’t think Mercilus will fall that far, or Janoris Jenkins too. Jenkins is a great cover guy and will likely be picked early 20s. I fully expect Mercilus to be gone somewhere in the first 20 picks too

Eagles
WR in the first is a big no no. If Djax leaves it will be a need, yes, but nothing we need to address in the first round. I cannot stress how much we need a LB. If Kuechly isn’t available it should be Dont’a.
Jags
1)Unrealistic pick and you damn well know it. I think Blackmon would be BAP and does fill a need so the pick is great, but I just find it to be too unrealistic.
2)A nice pick indeed. Not to be picky though, but once again the pick is unrealistic IMO. If he was there, I definitely think the pick would come down to him and Dwight Jones.
3)Do not like Lindsay as the pick at all. There are MUCH better options to be had. Whether it is Brian Quick or Josh Norman or even Jarius Wright, much better players are there to bad had.
4)Bad pick because of his character issues and his not being near the best player available. Stephen Hill and Tommy Streeter pop out to me as MUCH better players to take with the pick. IDK how McNutt falls but he is even better than these 2 other guys and he could very well be the pick as early as the 2nd for the Jaguars. Cam Johnson would also be a very likely candidate should he fall the 4th which I also find highly doubtful.
5)I do not know anything about this Swartz kid, so I cannot really make a educated comment about whether he is good or bad but Vlachos, Saulsberry, and Matt Reynolds are two guys I would think Jags would consider.
6)Interesting pick, although I think with a guy like Jordan White sitting there in the 6th, he has got to be the pick.

Last year
virtually everyone would have said Gabbert was unrealistic at 10. I could see Blackmon taking a dive. Not likely, but possible…
not as unrealistic
it was basically down to newton or gabbert at 1 and then barring a trade, it was thought Gabbert would drop a bit. Sure it was unlikely but not like Balckmon this year who is #1 ranked WR with 3 teams before us needing a WR

Bengals
I sure hope they don’t pick Dennard in the first, and from the senior bowl chatter, it sounds like he might slide into the second. I would much rather see them use that pick to grab Konz or Janoris Jenkins.
by steve henderson on Jan 25, 2012 2:15 PM EST reply actions
Konz?
A center? They just signed Cook to an extension, so I’m pretty sure they don’t have any plans to draft another one in the first round.

For Denver
I think Worthy could pan out well, but I hate drafting kids in the first round who lack good tape. Worthy is talented but it didn’t show up enough on the field for me to say he’s worthy of a first.
James in the 2nd is meh. He seems like a 3rd down back, and Knowshon Moreno is at least that. We need a guy who can take over for McGahee down the road and run between the tackles. I don’t see James doing that.
Love Boykin, I think he could go before then but if he’s there Denver HAS to take him. I wouldn’t hate getting Osweiler, would love to have Carder, and not too familiar with the Bama Center but we could use depth at the OL
C'mon, join us, there's plenty of koolaid on the Broncos bandwagon for everyone!

Yeah a little bit of a reach for Worthy...
DT is a top need but Worthy’s not BPA at 25. And I kinda don’t agree on Osweiler. We already have a project QB. We need to sign a FA vet and give Timmy an entire offseason of intense coaching. If he fails to pan out next year, go all-in on the Barkley/Jones sweepstakes in the ‘13 draft. Just not sure what use we’d get out of Osweiler.

Hey Steve, what'd you see out of Russell Wilson?
I checked out your site,
Russell Wilson had some nice throws, but wasn’t as impressive in full team drills.Good info, but was wondering if you could give me a more extensive report on how Wilson is doing, would be much appreciated being a Badgers fan.
And Perry is a good pick for the Packers.
Tajh Boyd and Dre' Ellington are the future.
Brandon Jennings; Just keep waiting people.
Buffalo Bills
DE Quinton Coples
CB Stephon Gilmore
TE Michael Egnew
DT DaJohn Harris
WR Chris Givens
CB Keith Tandy
LB Danny Trevanthan
I think this works as far as the mix of positions go, would need to research each player further.
The Bills will get another pick, a 5th or 6th, from the Seahawks from the Marshawn Lynch trade.
One thing to note, unless the Bills somehow manage to sign Matt Flynn or Jed Hoyer, I would think they’ll, at the very least, draft a mid-round QB to develop.
by PineWoodsBillsFan on Jan 25, 2012 2:38 PM EST reply actions
Jed Hoyer?
Isn’t he a baseball exec? Are you referring to Brian Hoyer (pats’ back-up)? I haven;t hear anything about him at BR.
Oops. Yes, I meant Brady’s back-up. I knew when I typed it that it looked wrong. Thanks.

nice to follow you here, from HH...
my thoughts about all these mock drafts -
Are they what you THINK will happen? Or, what you would LIKE to happen? Also, you have not taken into consideration any possible trades; do you have some thoughts about those? What effect may trades have on players availability?
Finally, I cannot see Skins taking Reiff over Blackmon, IMO
Steelers
Looks like a worst case scenario for them

I think we'd take Jeffery in that scenario
I'm getting tired of saying this: Dick LeBeau’s system is so complex very few rookies can make an impact.

Dontari Poe or Mark Barron. lets hope this doesnt happen on draft day though.. Adams is a horrible pick.

You know who the last two safeties drafted in the 20's in the past 9 years are?
Kenny Philips and Ed Reed. Barron can’t come close to touching them. Now Poe I would consider but BPA would be Jeffery

Jets
Its easy to start getting caught up in other guys, but Upshaw is so good. Would love it we got him.
+1
Love Ingram if he’s there and Upshaw is gone, as well. Also, there’s no chance Kendall Wright goes before Flyod. Based on talent, Floyd is just as good as Sanu and Jeffery in my opinion.
I loved the Giants draft
But I don’t think Jenkins falls that far. I hope he does though. Davis is good value there, but with all the young LB’s idk if I want another one. Adcock in the 3rd was awesome value, and could end up filling the RT spot.
Dolphins
It is just horrible for the dolphins.
1st Round- We definitely don’t need a running back with Reggie and Daniel Thomas (2nd round pick last year)
A better pick would be Coples, Upshaw, or Ingram. (Or one of the top 3 tackles but they were already picked.)
2nd Round- Wouldn’t have been a bad pick but recent reports are saying they are switching to a 4-3 so a nose tackle isn’t a need for them.
A better pick would be Zach Brown, Fleener, Dwayne Allen, or Vinny Curry.
3rd Round- Just no. If the dolphins are taking a quarterbacks it is going to be Luck, Griffin III, Foles, or Tannehill.
A better pick would be Brandon Boykin, Nix, Potter or a S.
4th, 5th, and 6th- All are pretty good, and I really like the 5th round pick.
Good effort with six rounds and didn’t look to see how the other teams picks were but the Dolphins draft IMO wasn’t good at all.
kirkpatric > jenkins? ??
14 spots better than jenkins? ?? jenkins looks like the 2nd best cb too me….i just dont get it…both have charcter issues

Dre's was only one arrest for weed...
Jenkins’ was for a fight and resisting arrest – and two for weed. He’s super talented but has some Pac-Man Jones in him. Dre will go first.

If the 49ers had a draft like that I'd break my TV.
Donte Whitner isn’t a great SS; however, he is a decent starter, and we actually do have needs unlike what you think. We’re in dire need of a starting WR and RG. Neither of which are addressed with guys who could realistically step in and produce.
Bills
The Bills are desperate for a CB? I just don’t see that in the second round. They would like one, sure. With an OLB like Curry on the board still (A position of actual need), or WRs like Toon or Dwight Jones, I just don’t see how a reach for a CB can be justified.
Colts
remember hearing Johnson is one of the better candidates for a move to safety, so my only big complaint (they need a safety far more than to double up on WRs or CBs) is probably addressed.
Choke/Clutch is the fetishization of the small sample size.

49ers - Copied here to save others time
This is 2011 and there is no reason to split 200 text items over 7 pages other than to drive page views. It’s an annoying practice that should die a painful fiery death in the depths of the worst hell you can imagine.
Mark Barron – SS
Andrew Datko – OT
Josh Robinson – CB
Trenton Robinson – FS
DeVon Wylie – WR
Mychal Kendriks – ILB
Also a horrible draft for the 49ers.
I’d rather have Zeitler , Boykin, Iloka, Juron Criner, and Derek Wolfe with the first 5 picks.
But the bottom line is that I could step down about 10-20 slots and come out with better players than you have us selecting. Partly this is because you are behind the times on Criner, but I could replace him with Marvin Jones and still have a better draft with these 5 than with the 6 you gave us.
