I think either Glenn or Poe would be the better pick.

Yea, I was thinking that you guys were stacked at DL

I picked Barron because he’s a top 20 player and you guys can use another S in the mix to mold behind Troy. But I’ll definitely consider Glenn next time, thanks.

We will have no starting NTs to begin the year, unfortunately, so taking one within the first three round is almost a must.

Oh Ok

Yea, Poe would be a great pick b/c he’s like 350 lbs, perfect for that NT position. thanks.

Yea Allen would be awesome with Eli throwing to him

Plus, he’ll be way better than Ballard, Beckum, or Pascoe!

Can't stand the truth?

by Aristotle45 on Jan 31, 2012 9:07 PM EST up reply actions

Exactly, we'd be able to keep Ballard as our 2nd TE

And as good as Ballard has been as our #1 TE, he’d be more boss as a #2 TE cause he’d get even less attention from coverage than he already does.

Do you see Ingram as a 4-3 DE

or a SLB?

LB

with his height + athleticism, he reminds me of Lamar Woodley. Also MIA lost J Taylor, so I figured you guys could use another rusher.

Sorry Bills fan

was wondering since miami was going back to the 4-3 as well, from what i’ve read.

Ingram is a young Adailus Thomas clone

he can play anywhere. LB, DT, DE, Rush OLB, even safety or nickel corner. He’s that athletic.

Chargers

I know CB isn’t a huge need on the chargers but I love this pick because they need a #2 corner and Jammer isn’t getting any younger. However A.J. Smith is notorious for picking players based on positional needs instead of talent. I see them taking Mercilus here.

by samfootball21 on Jan 31, 2012 9:17 PM EST reply actions

That's exactly why i picked him, b/c of Jammer's age

I didn’t know that DE was a need since you guys drafted Liuget last year, and have Castillo on the other side?

Dennard is looking more and more like a second, possibly third rounder to me. But DeCastro would be a huge win for us. He’s the best player still on the board and fits a huge need for the team.

Blackmon, Kirkpatrick, Coples, Jenkins, or Brown

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was

by pcroadrage on Jan 31, 2012 9:42 PM EST up reply actions   1 recs

Blackmon is top 5 worthy

Kirkpatrick and Coples are top 10 worthy. Jenkins and Brown are a stretch but i like them a lot more than Still. I think Still is the most over hyped player in the draft due to DT being a weak spot this year. We also really dont need a DT. We have Edwards returning who did get to play last year, we drafted 2 early last year. and Neblett, Kearse, and Shirley all looked very promising last year

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was

by pcroadrage on Jan 31, 2012 9:50 PM EST up reply actions

I'll probably give u guys Coples next time but

All Kirkpatrick does is play zone and Blackmon doesn’t have the elite speed to be a top 10 pick, combine that with his size and system he played in college, and it’s a recipe for disaster.

Can't stand the truth?

by Aristotle45 on Jan 31, 2012 9:56 PM EST up reply actions

Fitz doesnt have elite speed either

and all Alabama plays is man

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was

by pcroadrage on Jan 31, 2012 10:24 PM EST up reply actions

Yea but Fitz has the size and route running and hands and big playmaking ability

Blackmon has none of that, plus he’s slow. Please don’t compare Blackmon to Fitz lol.

Can't stand the truth?

by Aristotle45 on Jan 31, 2012 10:29 PM EST up reply actions

Fitz is a little bigger

but he’s not faster, probably even slower. They have similar playmaking skills. Blackmon is basically TO minus the locker room problems

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was

by pcroadrage on Jan 31, 2012 11:21 PM EST up reply actions

blackmons not top 10 worthy

He is not the level of prospect as aj green or even julio Jones were last year.

At this point last year

Julio Jones wasnt even top 15. his draft stock blew up after the combine because he ran a 4.3. I think Blackmon is better than Jones and can compete with Green

Not quite.

Jones blew up after the combine, because the media draftniks finally figured out what the scouts knew all along. Do you really think NFL scouts rely on the scouting combine to find out fast an elite prospect is?

Jags

Based on the pick, you are obviously clueless. (Obviously you are not clueless about “your team” but after being bashed for using that line on someone else’s post, I think it is my new go-to line when I dislike picks.)

Truthfully though, the pick does not seem to fit for a variety of reasons. If you were going by need, I think Coples and Blackmon and Martin have got to be better value at the pick. If you go by BAP, Coples or Martin or Jenkins.Kirkpatrick are all better picks IMO. I like Wright, but I really do not think he fits at 7.

by Jagsrok9008 on Jan 31, 2012 9:58 PM EST reply actions

Lol at the clueless comment.

Reason I chose Wright:
I’m a huge believer in Kendall. This guy is a straight up playmaker. He’s the top WR in this draft class and He’s the only one with a real combination of speed and route running. The only knock on him is his size, but that doesn’t really matter because he makes very difficult catches. This guy has it all. Plus, Gene likes to pick guys in the 1st round that can play right away, and this guy is a mismatch nightmare. Go back and look at some tape.

Can't stand the truth?

by Aristotle45 on Jan 31, 2012 10:03 PM EST up reply actions

still think he is BAP though? I am really not sure he is, regardless of how good he actually is. Let us not forget this is the #7 pick. Do you really think that there are no more than 6 people in this draft better than Kendall Wright? I find it hard to make a solid argument for that given Luck and RG III and Kalil and Claiborne and Reiff and Richardson as almost locks for being better.

I think he's BAP in an area of serious need

it really depends on Gene’s board. and if you noticed that all of those players you mentioned are gone by pick 7, so Wright would make perfect sense.

Can't stand the truth?

fair enouh

if you really think he is 7th best player on the board or better than he makes sense at the pick.

2)that is great and all, but if he is not good value at the pick, he still should not be the pick.

im sure your new offensive cord gets some say in who he wants in his new offense

And every team values players different. It’s not like wright is not a first round pick, its but a matter of where in the first round.

When will people realize

that Luck will not be an elite NFL qb? He will be good, and he is the most pro-ready qb in the draft, but his cieling is not that high. He is no Peyton, Stafford, Brady, or even Newton. He will play at a decent level, and probably make a couple Pro-Bowls, but he won’t be elite. In terms of production, think Carson Palmer.

I kind of agree with you

The offense they ran at Stanford was very friendly to QB’s. I put him first b/c there are reports that the Colts already have their mind made up and they need a QB. I think he’ll be good, but not Elway/Manning like.

I dont think Worthy is worth a 1st round pick his talent and potential is 1st round quality but his production and work rate is not and I dont think they will reach with their picks.
Would rather trade out of the 1st round and pick up more picks than reach at 25.

Bengals

17 – You are spot on in that if RIchardson is gone (likely) and DeCastro is available, then the Bengals pull the trigger on the number 1 guard in the draft.

21 – With Jenkins off the board, I would prefer Barron. Crocker looked atrocious, Nelson is a free agent and Mays and Sands are huge question marks. You’lll notice I didn’t mention Jeromy Miles, because he’s a special teamer, nothing more.
