LSU DE Sam Montgomery not entering 2012 NFL Draft
The 2012 NFL Draft is without another pass rusher. According to Scout.com, LSU redshirt sophomore Sam Montgomery said he won't be going pro.
Montgomery told the media during the BCS National Championship game media day on Friday. Montgomery leads the Tigers in sacks this season with nine.
He's one of the many LSU sophomore defensive linemen who look like future first-round picks. The others would be end Barkevious Mingo and defensive tackles Michael Brockers and Bennie Logan. We'll have more on those defensive linemen Monday as part of our title game preview.
Montgomery had become a favorite of several draft analysts, particularly Rob Staton of Seahawks Draft Blog. In his latest mock draft, Staton had Montgomery going to his Seahawks in the first round. Here's what he had to say:
If the Seahawks are looking for speed and a better pass rush, they could easily line Montgomery opposite Clemons and use a more orthodox 3-4 look with the three big bodies in the middle, while keeping the front four on passing downs.
Montgomery joins Georgia's Jarvis Jones and Florida State's Brandon Jenkins as top pass rushers who aren't going pro. Needless to say, the draft stock of players like Nick Perry and Vinny Curry is rising because of their decisions.

Great news for us LSU fans.
And wait till you see Anthony Johnson and Jamauria Rasco. LSU is loaded with pro prospects on the defensive line.
Add in Tharold Simon at cb who is 6’2" and 190. He will be the stud cb next year if Claiborne goes pro.
Jerry is the end all in Dallas.
