Report: Colts Will Draft Stanford's Andrew Luck With The No. 1 Overall Pick In The 2012 NFL Draft
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported earlier today that the Colts and their owner, Jim Irsay, will indeed draft Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick.
According to our own Dan Kadar, Luck is the best player entering the draft this year.
That the Colts plan to use the top pick on Luck really should be no surprise. Peyton Manning will be 36-years-old next season. He is coming off three neck surgeries (possibly four) in two years. He did not play in any games in 2011, nor did he practice with the team despite remaining on the active roster all season long.
What will be interesting is to see what the Colts do with Manning now that this report has gotten out. Manning and Luck likely cannot coexist on the same Colts roster. It makes no sense, especially now that the team is "rebuilding."
Mortensen's report would seem to throw cold water on any speculation that the Colts would take Baylor's Robert Griffin III No. 1 overall, or that they would trade the pick in order to rebuild their roster around Manning.
I guess this means 'Suck for Luck' is now complete.

wow, I don't think I recall a number one pick "decided" this early before
I support the Giants like bras support Kim Kardashian's boobs. It can be a struggle, we've had some jiggles, but we're still firm.

I'm kind of dissapointed
I wanted the Colts to pull a complete 180 on everyone and draft someone who wasn’t Luck. I’m sure that would make all the draft experts and draft enthusiasts heads explode.
