Panthers.......
Ron Rivera has stated DT isn’t much of a need anymore (after he picked up FA’s) I think we’ll go CB, OLB, or WR (Only if Blackmon or Jeffrey is there)
by rscott94 on Jan 9, 2012 4:21 PM EST via mobile reply actions
He's stated that, but he'd have to pick up a very good starter in FA for me to believe that.
"Nah, you look like Elijah Wood." - danmerqury
Thompson's a good player, possibly a BPA type pick
but with Canty and Joseph, also Austin coming back I don’t think there’s a reason to take another DT in the top 2 rounds, especially if he’s not a pass rusher. Nick Perry makes some more sense.
Round 2, David is too small and I hate the LB/S position. Dwight Jones is right there, there’s your pick

What I was thinking.
If Dwight Jones is sitting that deep in the 2nd, can’t see the Giants passing on him. And as much as you may not like it, Glenn could very well end up our pick in this situation.
I just don't think the Giants go with a walrus as their pick
I know Boothe’s good, he’s a walrus, but he’s been there a long time and they trust him. I don’t see where Glenn is any good anyway.

Walruses (or is it Walrusi?) can always slim down, and become more athletic
He offers strength and damn good run blocking, even though I think they already have that in Petrus. I’m not a huge fan of taking Glenn, of all our OL needs I don’t think they really need a guard, but he is a plausible pick there. I’d prefer a RT or Center, because Baas is unknown and KMac is done, and we don’t know what we have with Brewer.
My thought of the week is that Boothe is our new LG
Trust is big with TC.
I love Thompson so I think that is huge BPA there. You may not like it, but maybe Canty becomes a cap cut with all of the DT talent we will have assembled.
A third vote for Dwight Jones. We drafted our future WILL last year in Williams.
Zeitler in the 3rd is a great pick. Fits out style of play.
Don’t need another guard in the 4th. We’re not cutting the coach’s son-in-law. Maybe a safety there, or Acho or Carder, Gray, Tandy.
nah. i doubt the giants pick DT.
they did it the last 2 years. and the dline has been their strong suit.
its not as if he was a DE, which are the center peices of our D. the giants dont oick DTs like DEs if they have solid ones.

Not likely, Dwight Jones' draft stock will rise after the combine
I can see the Texans taking him in the 1st round

Cowboys
Tough decision between Dennard and Upshaw in the first round. I’d go Upshaw in the first and then take Gilmore in the second. I love Martin in the 3rd. You should grab an interior offensive linemen for us somewhere in the draft, either G or C because both positions were bad last year.

thanks
yeah i considered G/C’s a few times but i always felt other needs were greater

Trust me
its a need, I doubt we come out of the draft without one.

Jags
As much as I like the pick, I do not like the draft becuase it is unrealistic that Blackmon falls IMO. I do not see the Redskins passing on him for Rieff. Blackmon is just so much better than Rieff and fills a need.

as a Skins fan I hope you are wrong (though you could be right)
the Skins OL is a joke and that was even before Trent Williams was suspended. No way they should consider a WR over an offensive lineman
Steveospeak - Content Manager of Fanspeak.com
I mean anything is possible, but I just feel like Snyder does not allow Blackmon to get past him.

Dan Snyder is no longer making any football decisions
that ended when Vinny “dumbass” Cerrato was shown the door & Bruce Allen & Mike Shanahan took over.
You sure about that
becasue owners find their ways into certain decisions even when they claim they are not involved.

Actually I am,
think about Mike Shanahans enormous ego, do you think he would be allowing anyone to be making personnel decisions other than himself & (maybe) Bruce Allen. Look at last years FA acquisitions & draft for the Redskins, both were very good but also without the big names that Dan Snyder & his pet GM would go after.
That was all Mike Shanahan
& at the time, many people were saying that it was a great trade for the Redskins but if you are commenting about the McNabb trade & the 2010 draft being lousy then I gotta agree. I just don’t think that Dan Snyder was the one making those boneheaded decisions.

Eh
debatable. I am a huge Kuechly fan and would love to see him paired with DJ even though Belcher has not played that bad this year, Kuechly would be sick. With solid nose tackle play nobody would be able to run on them.
Also im not one to just give up on Ryan Lilja yet. He has been a very good pro for awhile. Sure he didn’t play all that great this season but i am not sure i would be ready to give up on him yet IMO. Plus with the assumption Richardson is replaced and Hudson replaces Weigman, replacing Lilja would cause 3 new starters on the O-line.
Me being a Packers fan but living in KC. The KC fan in me would love to see him pick Kuechly if Martin or Reiff aren’t available.
Kuechly is not really a SILB in our scheme though
Much more of a WILB like DJ

No way the Bills take a CB at 10
The Bills have the worst pass rush in the NFL. If Coples is there id assume he would be the pick, or Upshaw. They took Aaron Williams in the second round last year and looked good this year. They also found a late round gem in Justin Rodgers.
Dont get me wrong, a CB is still a need, bit not with the 10th pick.

IDK i personally wouldn’t be that angry because Dre, Aaron and Justin that’s AWESOME and set for the next decade

sure
but we have the worst pass rush in the NFL.
"The Buffalo Bills have just exploded all over the Cincinnati Bangles"
-Steve Tasker-
i completely agree
but if Kirkpatrick is there at #10, i think i would have to go with talent because i think he could be special and i don’t see any pass rush out there at his level. just IMO

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." -Confucius
But neither Coples nor Upshaw have really demonstrated elite pass rushing skills. Coples has the measurables but uninspiring play. Upshaw is a solid pass-rusher but would likely move into Chris Kelsay’s role.
Da'Jon McKnight - WR, Nick Toon - WR, Marvin McNutt - WR, Dan Persa - QB, Russell Wilson - QB, Whitney Mercilus - DE, Melvin Ingram - DE/OLB, Jared Crick - 3/4 or 4/3 DE, Alshon Jeffery - WR, Michael Floyd - WR, Ryan Tannehill - QB

Nice Job Steve, not a copy & paste mock.
I’d be very happy to see Reiff take over for Brown & maybe bump TW over to the right side in a year or two.
Ravens
Love the first pick. I think we can straighten Burfict out. 2nd round pick I think it’s too early for us to after an OLB. We have some young guys there and finished tied for 3rd in sacks this year. Dwight Jones would be great there. We really could use a bigger WR and I think he would be a great fit there. Turbin could be possible depending on if Ricky plays again next year, but I believe they are pretty high on our 3rd stringer anthony allen and Damien Berry from our PS, so I don’t know that they would draft a RB that early. We could use a S, C, project LT, possibly a G.
On Ed Reed:
"I’ve told him to his face many times, ‘You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,’"
"We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."
- Troy Polamalu
Bucs
I don’t like Martin there. We need a RT and the #5 pick is way too soon for that. No obvious pick for us in that spot. If we can’t trade down I’d take Blackmon there.
Steelers
I’d rather have Burfict!

Browns
Could be better. I see the Redskins moving up to take RGIII and the Browns take Blackmon with the #6 pick and kendall Wright with the #22. Second round takes OL & OL (from wash), yes thats OL twice.
"Excuse me while I ride my unicorn over to the gentleman’s club my wife doesn’t mind me visiting and doing coke off a hooker’s ass." - Henry Dawg , DBN - Dec 2011
I would cease being a Browns fan if this happened. That would be a terrible draft.
I wouldn’t REALLY cease being a Browns fan, but that would really be an awful awful AWFUL draft.
Isn’t it great to have an opinion? The best part is, ours don’t matter. You’d think it sucks, I would see an offense that would wake up and explode with who they already have, minus the WR’s & new OL (BTW thats including a OL picked up in FA – hopefully Grubbs).

Colts
If the board went this way I’d go with:
Luck
Barron
Lucas Nix
Joe Adams
Donnie Fletcher
Jordan White
bengals
who is running this list? mike brown? no way in hell do the bengals draft a wr in the 1st round. kidding aside, the bengals 4 biggest needs in the draft: G, RB, CB, S.
would be a horrible move from the front office to draft a wr before the 3rd round. of course when mike brown is concerned, all bets are off.
"the bengals are not a west of the 104 longitude team."
Disagree
M Floyd + 2nd or 3rd round RB would dramatically improve a Bengals offense that sputtered late in the season.
priorities
green, shipley, gresham + hawkins and whalen.
would be a waste of a 1st round pick to get a wr.
"the bengals are not a west of the 104 longitude team."
Not sure how closely you follow the Bengals but a WR is unlikely in the first.
Hopefully Shipley comes back to full strength next year, and I could see them resigning Simpson this offseason (though it wouldn’t shock me if they let him walk either).
And even if they go for a WR, I’d expect them to go for speed. AJ’s fast and quick, but he’s not a burner. He’s really more of a jump ball receiver. I don’t think they need another tall red zone threat outside of Green and Gresham.

I'd Love me some Kendall Wright
Division Champion Houston Texans
Hi My name is Jack, why don't you help me off?
Nah, we need a more complete WR than Wright
Dwight Jones or Nick Toon are the best fits at WR for the Texans
