Mike Adams 2012 NFL Draft scouting report
Mike Adams
6'7'', 323 | Offensive Tackle | Ohio State
Games Watched: Michigan, Florida, Illinois
Agility: Mike Adams has decent quickness in his lower half. He gets off the ball quickly and displays above average lateral movement. Adams shows the ability to get to the second level and take on linebackers.
Movement: His quick feet are one of Mike Adams' major strengths. He is able to keep edge rushers at bay by sealing the edge with solid footwork. Adams managed to improve his balance this season.
Pass Blocking: Adams has the talent, size and arm length to be an effective pass blocker. Unfortunately, he struggles a bit in space and lacks the instincts to put together a dominant game on tape. He is very inconsistent but definitely shows adequate bend.
Quickness: Mike Adams snaps into his stance quickly and can shows the ability to get wide on a screen pass. For a big guy, Adams has solid speed and great feet.
Run Blocking: Despite his size, Adams manages to get his pad level low on most occasions. Again, consistency is an issue, as Adams will go into a block upright and get pushed around. I love seeing Adams get to the second level and take on linebackers. Adams definitely lacks a mean streak, though.
Strength: Adams will definitely need to get stronger if he wants to excel as a left tackle in the NFL. He can be pushed around by some of the stronger defensive linemen and doesn't really finish his blocks well.
Technique: Physically, Adams has strong technique. The knee bend is there and he uses his hands very well to keep defenders away from his body. Adams also has strong footwork and flexibility. He will need to prove that he can be consistent in his technique, and also show that he understands how to pick up on pass rushers to avoid getting beat in space.
Final Word: Mike Adams looks the part of a franchise left tackle. He has outstanding size, decent arm length and moves very well. It's tough to grade Adams because he is wildly inconsistent and looks lost on the field at times. He also never really displayed a mean streak during the games I watched.
I think Adams could be coached up to be a pretty solid left tackle in the NFL. He had to play his senior year blocking for the erratic Braxton Miller, so some of the inconsistency and perceived confusion is excusable. Still, I would like to see him put together a full game and become more of a nasty blocker. Adams is worth a shot in the mid to late first round.

The scary part is, as someone had pointed out in a fanshot, to Colts fans that reads like the second coming of Tony Ugoh. And that’s not a good thing.

Then they came for the nerds, and I did not speak out because D&D IS A RESPECTABLE GAME WITH A LARGE PLAYERBASE OK MOM???
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because let's be real they always come for the Jews.
Then they came for me, and I did not speak out because they actually came for me back when they came for the nerds."

Adams will be a better RT than LT.
Too inconsistent and doesn’t play up to his abilities. Which would get a NFL QB hurt if he played LT.
^^^ I totally agree
