2012 Draft: 4 Round Mock

Obviously no Mock draft is perfect, this one being no exceptions. I have tried to do some research, though, and figure out team needs. I will try to keep it simple enough, though. I'm going to assume that no one trades beyond the deals already negotiated. I considered putting a 3rd round compensatory pick to the Raiders for Scrabble, but without the list published yet, it is difficult to do Comp picks at all, so I just skipped them for the moment.

KEY SIGNINGS

A) Peyton Manning is cut by the Colts and signed by the Seattle Seahawks. This isn't the most popular destination projected for him, but for the sake of argument, lets say that the divisional opponents, the money, and the defensive support are enough to draw him there.

B) Matt Flynn is brought to Miami to be their starting Quarterback.

FIRST ROUND

1) Indianapolis Colts: QB Andrew Luck (Stanford) - This pick is generally straightforward. Barring a trade down if Griffin were to be guaranteed available later, the Colts are essentially forced to take Luck, and so they do.

2) St. Louis Rams: OT Matt Kalil (USC) - The Rams need a WR, and Blackmon is begging to be taken, especially with the recent history of O-linemen taken by the Rams, but the WR class is very deep, the OT class isn't. That said, Kalil, DeCastro, and Luck headline each position as once in a decade players, so the Rams bite the bullet with another OT.

3) Minnesota Vikings: OT Jonathan Martin (Stanford) - The Vikings are fuming at losing Kalil, but luckily for the Vikings the not so deep OT class happens to be exceedingly top heavy. Martin, Kalil, and Reiff are arguably better than any OT in last year's class, and the Vikings need to replace Charlie Johnson desperately.

4) Cleavland Browns: WR Justin Blackmon (Oklahoma State) - The Browns have no threats at WR. What they do have, though, is a pair of Pro-Bowl Offensive linemen, and a good blocking scheme. With evidence showing that the passing game is king, the Browns need a threat through the air for McCoy, and luckily, Blackmon is available.

5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: RB Trent Richardson (Alabama) - LaGarret Blount has been very good, although he has dealt with injuries in both his years with the team. With many teams using a 2-back system, and Blount of the larger, short down build, Richardson could provide a good compliment and keep the running game soaring.

6) Washington Redskins: QB Robert Griffin III (Baylor) - The Redskins have a shot at Manning, but it will come down to Manning's choice, and the NFC West is easier than the NFC East. With Miami acquiring Flynn also out of the picture, Griffin falls out of the top 5 and into Washington's lap.

7) Jacksonville Jaguars: CB Morris Cailborne (LSU) - At this point Cailborne has fallen significantly, and in honesty, the Vikings choosing Martin over Cailborne is iffy, but the CB class is relatively deep, so the Jags are given a prize in the 1st round. They desperately need a WR, but later rounds can provide that.

8) Carolina Panthers: CB Dre Kirkpatrick (Alabama) - The Panthers could use a guard and some D-line help, but with two straight years of high picks on the D-line and a defense that still isn't up to snuff, the Panthers have to look at Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick could be a lockdown corner in the future, so the Panthers bite.

9) Miami Dolphins: OG David DeCastro (Stanford) - Stanford sends 3 students into the top-10 of this years draft, and each looks to be as sure of a pick as the one before. DeCastro, like Luck and Kalil, is a special type of player, and the Dolphins will have a starter for quite a significant amount of time, only improving the running game for new QB Flynn.

10) Buffalo Bills: DT Devon Still (Penn State) - The Bills need a Nose Tackle, and while their offense could use some help, that help is more needed in the WR department than on an OT. Therefore, the Bills will take a gamble on Still and have him bulk up to take over the middle of their defensive line.

11) Seattle Seahawks: WR Michael Floyd (Notre Dame) - Floyd is a little early here no matter who you ask, but with the scenario of Manning taking the helm in Seattle, it stands to reason the Seahawks will add talent to give Manning as many weapons as possible. Their defense is solid, so they look to improve their offense with a GOAT at QB.

12) Kansas City Chiefs: DT Dontari Poe (Memphis) - Like the Bills, the Chiefs need a NT, and with Still off the board they go with the more realistic, but less well touted NT from Memphis. Poe is hit or miss depending upon who you ask, but at 350 lbs, he's got the build of a NT.

13) Arizona Cardinals: OT Riley Reiff (Iowa) - The Cardinals need to improve their O-line since they lost out on Manning. Manning can work miracles without an offensive line, but sadly, the Cardinals have Kevin Kolb. They've got the offense around him to be significantly productive, and they'll hope with better protection Kolb will be the QB they thought he was.

14) Dallas Cowboys: DE Quinton Coples (UNC) - The Cowboys would have liked to continue getting some protection for Romo, or possibly get another downfield threat for him, but with none of those players forthcoming, they add to their D-line was a 34 DE in Coples. There are definitely concerns with Coples, but he's good value at this point.

15) Philadelphia Eagles: DT Michael Brockers (LSU) - The Eagles could use some help on the offensive line, and by 'some,' it is pretty clear they likely need 3 new offensive linemen. Sadly for them, though, they are out of luck unless they want to reach for Cordy Glenn, but the more likely scenario is they will add pressure in the middle of their D-line to help their star studded secondary.

16) New York Jets: OLB Courtney Upshaw (Alabama) - Upshaw is one of the more highly touted 34 OLBs in the draft and the Jets happen to have a need for an OLB at this point. Like the Eagles, they could take a flier on reaching for Cordy Glenn, but Upshaw represents a much better value for their pick.

17) Cincinnati Bengals: OG Cordy Glenn (Georgia) - The Bengals have been eying Glenn for a while, and while they could wait for a few more picks, they'll jump on him early so they can cover their needs without fear. Glenn may be a bit of a reach, but at 350 lbs, he's a mountain to move and with such poor guards, the Bengals will hope that holds true in the NFL too.

18) San Diego Chargers: OT Mike Adams (Ohio State) - The Chargers need at least one OT with McNeill and Gaither either in Free Agency or looking to retire. While they can likely coax Gaither back to be their LT, they still need a RT, and Adams happens to fit the RT anchor mold.

19) Chicago Bears: WR Kendall Wright (Baylor) - Cutler could use a big WR like Jeffery or Blackmon, but with questions looming about Jeffery's work ethic and Blackmon off the board they have to go for the speedster. Wright may not be 6'4, but he was a big time playmaker for Griffin at Baylor, which is what Cutler needs to compliment their ground attack now.

20) Tennessee Titans: OLB Zach Brown (UNC) - The Titans started to gel last year, but were plagued by the effects of a complete dismantling of the coaching staff and injuries (not to mention complete disappearances of certain, now very poorly paid players), and Brown looks to be a very solid addition to their defensive front 7.

21) Cincinnati Bengals: CB Janoris Jenkins (North Alabama) - The Bengals' defense is by no means a stranger to troubled players on their squad, and while Jenkins has a sketchy past, Mike Zimmer has done an excellent job making the defense respectable. Now the Bengals upgrade their secondary with the addition of one of the top CBs in the draft.

22) Cleveland Browns: RB Lamaar Miller (Miami) - The drama caused by Peyton Hillis and the management's dealings with him has more or less guaranteed that Hillis is gone, and without a likely heir the Brown will add another piece to their offense, going the Peyton Manning route to surround McCoy with as much talent as possible. After this year if the offense can't start clicking the team may have to start looking for a QB again.

23) Detroit Lions: ILB Luke Kuechly (Boston College) - Fate has been cruel to the Lions. Many places have mocked Mike Adams to land here but with the Chargers ruining that dream they must focus on other areas. With CBs a plenty, but still just in the category of a reach at this point, the Lions focus on Kuechly, who was ultra productive at Boston College.

24) Pittsburgh Steelers: OT Zebrie Sanders (Florida State) - The Steelers have gone through offensive linemen at an alarming rate. Even with a good stable of starting caliber linemen, injuries are forcing the Steelers to reach here. While the Steelers could use a NT, the fact is that the defense rated still as one of the best in the league. The offensive line is the overriding concern and has to be addressed, even with a reach.

25) Denver Broncos: DT Jerel Worthy (Michigan State) - Worthy is one of the better options for a NT in the first round of the draft, and Denver could use a good NT to help finish their conversion to a 34 defense. Worthy is powerful enough that his 310 lbs frame needs only moderate bulking up to make him a viable NT in the NFL.

26) Houston Texans: WR Mohamed Sanu (Rutgers) - The Texans are a very well built team, with a lot of talent all over the place, both on offense and defense. Ask them how they feel about Jacoby Jones, though, and prepare yourself to let the hate wash over you. Fact is that Schuab is one of the best QBs in the NFL. Adding a player like Sanu to play across from Andre Johnson is not only unfair, it hearkens back to the Marvin and Reggie show from a few years ago in Indy.

27) New England Patriots: CB Alfonzo Denard (Nebraska) - Denard has taken a hit recently, but fact is that the Patriots secondary was all kinds of terribad last year, and Belichek will want to change that immediately. The first step to doing that is to restock the defense with talent, starting with Denard.

28) Green Bay Packers: DE/OLB Melvin Ingram (South Carolina) - The Packers were nearly unbeatable because of their offense, but their defense needs to step it up one more notch to raise the team to the ranks of greats all-time. Green Bay needs a DE for the 34 defense, and while Ingram is likely a tweener DE/OLB, his talent will prove valuable as a serious steal of a pick by this point.

29) Baltimore Ravens: CB Stephon Gilmore (South Carolina) - Teammates go back to back in the draft at this point. The Ravens vaunted defense was still good, but is showing signs of aging, and has numerous players reaching the end of their tenures in the NFL. Rebuilding the secondary is one step to easing the pressure on the LBs, and Gilmore is a good option here.

30) San Francisco 49ers: DE/OLB Whitney Mercilus (Illinois) - The 49ers need a 34 OLB, and while Mercilus is getting attention for the 43 DE slot, he's got the size and build to be a convert like former DEs Robert Mathis and Mario Williams. Questions remain about this one year wonder even before this type of transition, but only time will tell how he deals with this scrutiny.

31) New England Patriots: SS Mark Barron (Alabama) - It is just like the Patriots to rain on the Colts parade as by now many Colt fans would be crossing their fingers for Barron to fall just another few slots and so the Colts could have a playmaker once again in the former Sanders position. The Patriots, though, simply want a stronger secondary, and that's what Barron gives them.

32) New York Giants: TE Dwayne Allen (Clemson) - The Giants were Super Bowl Champions, but they also had 2 of their 3 Tight Ends fall victim to ACL tears in the final game. The Giants won the prize without them, but adding a serious talent at TE would not be amiss for Eli & Co.

34) Indianapolis Colts: CB Chase Minnifield (Virginia)
35) Minnesota Vikings: C Peter Konz (Wisconsin)
36) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: OLB Lavonte David (Arkansas)

Bills

Just want to say that Nose Tackle is probably the last thing Buffalo needs right now.
Now that we’re switching to the 4-3 for the upcoming season, our DT depth looks like this:
Marcell Dareus (3rd overall pick last year)
Kyle Williams (Pro Football Focus MVP in 2010)
Torell Troup (2nd round draft pick in 2010, potential for being a strong run stopper, traditional NT size)
Dwan Edwards (Free Agent from 2010, another DT who is strong against the run)
Spencer Johnson (Depth tackle/end who is halfway decent as long as you don’t make him play OLB)

I think out of the players available at #10, I would pick either Quentin Coples, Michael Floyd, or Riley Reiff over Still.
I have no problem with your picks for round 2-4. Good choices all around there.

Ah, I didn't remember that Buffalo was changing back to a 43.

Although, now I think about it, it does ring some bells. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out something to do with the Bills at that point and eventually settled with Still more out of an inability to come up with a better solution with my limited knowledge of the team and who I felt would be worth it at that point.

I agree, though, that with a switch to a 43 Couples or Floyd would be better alternatives. I probably would have mocked Coples in all honesty.

coples

If he is there at ten I have no doubt that the bills will take him as our pass rush is very poor.

Nice explanations

But I’m curious why you didn’t address the glaring need in the Eagles roster, the LBs. reaching for an O-lineman and turning to a d-lineman instead, it just seems like there’s a great player of need at that spot, which is why so many mocks have the Eagles taking Kuechly.

Also, to save your sanity, just leave free agency out of the picture. You’ll only light a fire under people. Besides, FA will determine a lot more than just QBs. I would be surprised if the Bengals don’t make a run at the O-line or corner (or WR), and there will be other FAs that either create holes in rosters or patch them depending on where they go.

If you’re in the business of mocking prior to the combine/FA, just act like everything is the same now as it would be then anyway.

Try not to take the above message too seriously.

My rationalization as an outsider to the team (I'm a Colts fan) was that the offensive line was all kinds of bad

And given who the Eagles have as their QB it was more of an issue to protect Vick as much as possible. I figured the Eagles had 2 linemen really worth keeping, and the other positions could use an upgrade. I know the LBs are an issue too, but I thought that with so many stars at CB that even if the LBs sold out against the run the defense could manage utilizing the talent they had. I just didn’t see a way the offensive line could keep Vick healthy without an overhaul.

And as for Kuechly, I was reading him as a faller at this point. High amounts of tackles, but not as big of an impact as would be expected for that total. That said, I’ll make sure to keep it in mind next time I try this. Always difficult without knowing the ins and outs of another team, but I do appreciate the input.

Actually

The eagles offensive line was quite good this year, and if they resign Evan Mathis, can really just pick up some depth in the later rounds. Linebacker is by far our biggest need, so we need 1, if not 2, of them in the first 3 rounds. However, Reid loves his lineman, so I could definitely see him reaching for a dl in the 1st, especially I’f they decide not to pay Cullen Jenkins, who is due a big bonus (7.5 million?). Nice Job on the 4 round mock though, thats a lot of work.

I'll take your word for it.

Um..

I’m confused as to why the Arizona Cardinals are left out of the 3rd and 4th rounds of your draft.. You might want to figure that one out..

Oh snap.

I copied and pasted the draft order from the 1st to the 3rd and 2nd to the 4th and forgot to put the Cardinals back in… This is going to take some revisions. Thanks for Noticing though.

Also

I noticed that you only had the Redskin’s picking once in the 4th. We have the Raiders’ 4th round pick from the Jason Campbell trade. Also, the Raiders have already used their 3rd round selection in the supplemental draft for Terrelle Pryor.

Broncos

They moved back to a 4-3 grouping last season. That being said Worthy would fit in a 4 front alignment but I dont think he is worth a 1st round pick. His conditioning is questionable at the moment.
Weeden in the 2nd would be a huge concern with me, i think it is too early for him and whilst not everyone is sold on Tebow there are players on the board who could make more of an impact at Denver now and in the long term than him.

I was about to say this.

In the 1st round, based on who is still available in this scenario, I would of either taken Fletcher Cox or Peter Konz. In the 2nd round, I would have taken either Alameda Ta’amu or Doug Martin. In the 3rd I would be looking at either Josh Norman or Nick Foles. In the 4th, tough to say, but if I took Konz in the 1st I wouldn’t need another C. Maybe take Nate Potter, the OT from Boise St.

All that being said. I appreciate the hard work you put into this. I would have done horribly at trying to draft for other teams. Hard enough drafting for my own.

I agree with Curry there we can afford to be greedy

and double dip early. Though, I do like getting David Wilson if it means getting rid of Powell. Otherwise, good draft for the most part.

And the home of the .... JETS!!!

I agree.
Really don’t like the second, as we should double-dip there. Then in the third go wide receiver instead of running back (if we were to go offense). Otherwise, go safety.

Steelers

Horrible.

injuries are forcing the Steelers to reach here.

The Steelers DO NOT reach in the first. They go BPA. This is common knowledge if you follow the draft at all.

Then why would they take a C instead of taking Ta’amu?

I know

I think at least 3 of the 4 choices are terrible from a Steelers point of view.

I think with the way this draft was unfolding, the Steelers would trade up 3 or 4 places to get Kuechly or trade down a few places and grab someone at that point.

I wouldn’t be opposed to this happening if we don’t trade down. Biggest needs by position filled in first 4 rounds. Well done sir.

Ravens

Horrible first pick for us. First off CB is one of our lowest priorities heading into the off-season. Cary Williams was a solid starter, plus we used a first on Jimmy Smith last year who has potential to be a top CB in this league and then we had Webb who was one of the top CB’s in the league last year. I will guarantee we do not even consider a CB in the first.

2)Jeffery is starting to scare me at this point. He might be a real solid option in the second round but he has a lot to show to get me on board with the pick. If he is not the pick, I would love Vinny Curry
3)Massie, Criner or Joe Adams please
4)Sold pick, although I prefer Harrison Smith, Ladarius Green or Malik Jackson

Not a bad job for the Jags as a whole.

Correct my if I’m wrong raiders fans…..surely they wouldn’t spend another pick on a qb after Campbell by trade, Pryor by supplemental and Palmer by trade. There must be other holes to fill with the limited picks?

Not true the Raiders will have a 3rd based on the Kam Wimbley trade from 09.

As for the pick that has a snow ball’s chance of happening. We will not go QB after mortgaging the future for Carson and retaining Al Saunders primarily to babysit Terrell Pryor into becoming our eventual backup or at least a servicable NFL QB. Also this team help all over it’s back 7 with a defense ranked 29th in both yds & pts allowed. We need help everywhere on D but LB & now CB are major needs.

Giants

decent mock. We don’t have a need for an ILB. We have Mark Herzlich, Jonathon Goff, and Chase Blackburn there, and in our scheme its not an oft used position, so no need spending a high pick there. A re-mock that would be insane for us would be:

1) Alshon Jeffery, WR
2) Markelle Martin, FS
3) Ladarius Green, TE
4) Nate Potter, OT

it is just a ridiculous thing to say you refuse to take an OT under 300 lbs. I mean sure, you want a guy not MUCH less, but Nate Potter is at least 295 pounds (Wikipedia has him at 300 even)which is not an issue. You also should be drafting guys based on talent, and bulk them up if they are too small for your liking.

That and Nate Solder was 295 projected before the Senior day weigh-in.

Anthony Castonzo was bouncing between 295 and 310 depending upon the day. If you want a really good college pass-pro OT, they usually are lighter than your bulkier steamrollers for the running game.

And besides, an NFL weight trainer will have them bulked up anyway. Potter at 295 now will likely read 310-315 by the end of his first season.

Greater allowances are made for athleticism on the left side. Where we have a starter in Beatty. On the right side, we drafted Brewer last year to replace McKenzie, and both of them are around 6-6 330. The Giants through the years have drafted OLs and even LTs that cannot see their own feet. Great job on the mock, everyone knows it is so hard to please everyone but, for anyone who reads this and wants to do a mock, here is where he went wrong. chiefs- round 1-3 was all defense, I could see NT honestly but we need a RT, LG, and NT probably the most, depending of if they resign CB carr or WR bowe those could also be points of interest odds are WR wont be though they went WR last year round 1 with john baldwin, ILB is probably a need but they got 3 stud LB’s I could see them sticking with siler at ILB maybe a later round ILB would be picked though?

just my thoughts from within, me and everyone other chiefs fan wish they would trade up for RGIII though can not see him slipping to #6 I think he might give luck a run for his money.

Griffin falling to #6 is the best case scenario for the Skins. Branch in the 2nd might not be a great need since he’d probably play OLB in the 3-4. I think I’d grab Juron Criner in the 3rd over a TE. The Redskins have two 4th rd picks. They have Oaklands pick(110) that you have the Patriots using for some reason.

by HogHunter on Feb 14, 2012 9:45 AM EST reply actions

I was just posting everything you just said

Trying to figure out who I’d like at our 2nd 4th. I also don’t like the 2nd round pick. Depending on who we sign in FA I’d like Ben Jones there. Call me crazy, but I like the Dawgs in this draft. I’d also like Criner in the 3rd. He’s a name I look for in every mock because of how much time they said Shanny spent with him at the Senior Bowl.

by CarverM on Feb 14, 2012 9:50 AM EST up reply actions

I can see OL or RB getting picked up in the 4th

Shanny will be looking to get another mid round RB, especially if Hightower’s not healthy yet or doesn’t get resigned at all. A center would be good with the second 4th rounder, Brewster and Blake are still there in this draft.

by HogHunter on Feb 14, 2012 9:58 AM EST up reply actions

Branch was not a position of need as a 4-3 DE. The Skins do not need OLB who are the closest fit to DE. OL & WR

are offensive needs. DB are needed as well particularly safeties. Some depth could be used on the defensive front three for guys 6-4
and 315 lbs. An ILB for the future is needed in later rounds.

I hate the Richardson pick with Claiborne still on the board. I think that’s a round to early for Lavonte David. I’d go either Jeffrey or Osemele there – slipping first rounders. I like the Boykin pick in the third, but I’d probably go Fleener there. He has slipped way too far in this draft, and is clearly BPA by a mile unless i missed someone. Colts need a lot of things, but if Konz is there, I am not sure how the Colts pass on a C, when they seriously need one. You protect your QB first, so build a strong line. I’m still hopeful Dwayne Allen falls to the Colts in round 2.

In the 3rd, if Luck’s buddy Fleener is there, you give Luck a good TE target. A WR wouldn’t be a bad idea, like Nick Toon.

This has to be the worst Mock for the Vikes that I have seen this year. Konz in the 2nd? The Vikings just signed their own center, John Sullivan, to a 5 year extension. 1st – I wouldn’t be disappointed with Sanu, but I’d rather have Jeffery at #26

2nd- Ta’amu in the 2nd? Yes please!!!!!

3rd – We just got Ta’amu in the 2nd, why do we need another DT in the 3rd? We need some interior OL help, but looking at value here, Bruce Irvin would be nice to add depth at the OLB position with Mario Williams most likely leaving.

4th – TE? Really? TE? You do know we have Garrett Graham & we could easily slide James Casey back over to TE, right? Now right here, a guy I’d look at is Derek Wolfe from Cincinnati. I think he would be nice because he can play the NT & 5 Technique spots. He’d be nice depth now with Tim Bulman probably not coming back, & I think he could replace Antonio Smith down the line. Another option is OG Rokevious Watkins from South Carolina

Poe at 11 would be such a horrible reach and NT isn't a huge need.

We run a 2-4-5 nickel sub package around half the time. So a NT plays maybe 3 or 4 downs a series. Why invest a number 11 pick in somebody who only plays half the time.

Also if RG III falls to 5 i don’t see how the Chiefs don’t trade up with the Bucs and select him. The Bucs could still most likely get Trent Richardson and if they can’t then they can grab a Lamar Miller in the second.

by Jonathan Hake on Feb 14, 2012 12:58 PM EST reply actions   1 recs

Doubt the Browns go with Blackmon over RGIII

Especially considering the fact that Holmgren likes to get his own QB. He got Favre and Hasselback now he’ll look at Griffin pretty extensively. Plus Blackmon isn’t a legit top 5 guy, add that to this year’s depth at WR in both the draft and free agency he could possibly drop all the way to the mid teens. Also with the assumption that the Seahawks get Peyton Manning and he’s like 80% of what he used to be than Sidney Rice will finally look like Sidney Rice again so Floyd in the first is kinda superfluous. Also Still, Worthy and Poe aren’t likely 1st rounders. Still and Poe also shouldn’t be going ahead of Brockers and Coples. Same with Zebrie Sanders no way is he a 1st rounder even if a team falls in love with him.

Sorry, but the Dolphins draft is terrible,

A Guard has never been taken in the top 10, and it will not/ should not happen this year either. Besides, by far, our biggest need on the O-Line is RT, not G. Then in the 2nd, we already have three 4-3 DTs (Starks, Ordick, McDaniel) so there is no sense to use another early pick there. In the 3rd, we already have Bush and drafted Thomas in the 2nd last year, so I doubt we go RB early again. Fuller in the 4th isnt that bad, although he doesnt fill our need for speed across from Marshall. Just so you know for next time, some of the Dolphins biggest needs (outside of QB) are a passrusher, a FS, a TE, and a RT just to name a few…

Jets

That draft would excite the hell out of me. Upshaw doesn’t get enough love and I think he’s gonna be a beast. Guys with that kind of size and strength shouldn’t be able to play with the kind of quickness that he has, and he already plays with great leverage. Upshaw is perfect.

David Wilson is gonna be a dynamite pro. Freaky speed and balance. I think he’ll bulk up some in his upper body and play around 210-215. He’ll be a tackle breaking machine like Ahmad Bradshaw, but he’ll have the home-run hitting speed to snap off big runs. Like Bradshaw though, ball security is an issue. Wilson is a nice compliment to both Greene and McKnight. He’s electric, so he provides a nice change of pace from Greene’s war machine style; but he can also run with authority and bang it between the tackles. With a trio of Greene, Wilson and McKnight, if anyone of them goes down for an extended period of time, you still have a dynamic pair of RBs to ground & pound with.

LOVE Chandler Jones. Dude is a sleeper with huge upside, imo. He does need to hone his technique. But he’s a damn good piece of wood to carve. Especially since we’re keeping Pace for at least one more year, so Jones can really just take a season to work on his pass rushing. He’s got the size and athleticism to play both 34 OLB and 46 DE. A good tool for Rex to have in the shed.

I can’t say enough how much I would love this draft. Actually i’m gonna rec a mock for the first time over here.

Chiefs

I love this draft one of the better mock I have seen for the Chiefs, But if you was to give us Riley Reiff insteed of Poe in the first we could be a team looking to make a solid push into the play-offs

Redskins 2nd and 3rd rounders

DE and TE are nowhwere near our biggest needs. I would switch those picks to either OL, WR, or CB/S

Here is what the Steelers would do in this scenario

1 – Peter Konz, OG/OC, Wisconsin
2 – Alameda Ta’amu, NT, Washington
3 – Good job on Cole
4 – Chris Givens, WR, Wake Forest

Also, we won’t draft Sanders at all no matter where it is because he is a soft, ZBS player only

Congrats to you, sir.

This is by far my FAVORITE Jets mockso far. I love Wilson, and the double dip at OLB is awesome. Like Smith, too.

Interesting draft for the Cardinals

Doubling up on offensive line with their first two picks would be a bit surprising but not unwelcome. I can understand how CB could be perceived as a need considering the poor play at the position from AJ Jefferson last season. With Greg Toler returning from injury I doubt it will be a high priority though, especially if they can resign Richard Marshall as well.
