As expected, Ryan Tannehill to sit out NFL Combine drills
As expected, a foot injury will keep Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill from participating in drills at next week's NFL Scouting Combine, ESPN.com's Pat Yasinskas reports.
In January, Tannehill fractured his foot while working out at IMG Academy. The injury, which forced him to miss the Senior Bowl, required a screw to be inserted into Tannehill's foot.
Tannehill did tell Yasinskas he would be 100 percent for his pro day. The healing process will have to speed up as A&M holds its pro day on March 7. Don't be shocked if Tannehill eventually has to hold a private work out day in late March or early April.
"We’ll come back and push it pretty hard,’’ Tannehill told Yasinskas. "I’m thinking I should be getting close to 100 percent by right after the combine and we’ll really jump into the on-field stuff then to make up for the time I missed and get ready for pro day.’’
