Report: Teams Told Andrew Luck Not To Throw At 2012 Scouting Combine, And So He Won't
Some dude named Andrew Luck will undoubtedly be the No. 1 overall pick at the 2012 NFL Draft. Despite Luck's de facto standing as the top pick, the Stanford standout was reportedly willing to conduct throwing drills for scouts at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week.
However, word on the street is Luck will not throw, and the reason he will not throw is that some teams (aka, the Indianapolis Colts) told him not to. Luck complied with their wishes.
Here's the Indianapolis Star's Bob Kravitz:
Andrew Luck was willing to throw for teams (Colts) at the combine, but was told by teams (Colts) just to throw at pro day March 22.

Luck reportedly will participate in the non-throwing drills, like the 40-yard dash. Baylor's Robert Griffin III and Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill also will not throw in Indianapolis, but Michigan State's Kirk Cousins reportedly will.
Luck is still scheduled to throw at his Pro Day on March 22nd, the same day Baylor is scheduled to have their Pro Day.
[UPDATE] As reported by Dan, Baylor has VERY wisely changed their Pro Day date to March 21st.

This story makes NO sense.
If he throws and looks great, so what?
If he throws and sucks, wouldn’t the Colts want to know that?
What if he doesn’t throw and RGIII lights up the combine? Oh, shit!

He's still throwing at his Pro Day, so...

This is a big non-story
You want to properly evaluate a guy throwing, then why no evaluate him throwing the ball to his WRs and TEs and not a bunch of guys he’s never thrown the ball to like they make you do at the combine.
This doesn’t change my opinion of him. If he wasn’t good as advertised, he wouldn’ have been given complete control of his offense in Stanford much like Peyton Manning had control of the Colts offense. Luck is very cerebral, has the arm, the mobility, and mental make up. He’s also a very accurate passer, 67% for his career. And he makes sound decisions, 82 TDs vs 22 INTs in 3 seasons.
You don’t need to watch Luck do drills at the combine to know he can play QB. Hell, you don’t need RG3 to do drills at the combine either.
Luck and RG3 just need to show up, run their 40, ace your wonderlic and smile at the camera.
