My First 7 Round Mock(w/ trades + notable FA signings)
A couple of important things to take note of prior to reading on:
- Free Agency activities mentioned are the important ones that in some ways impacted draft picks for certain teams. Any Free Agent not mentioned can be assumed to have re-signed with their current team(with the exception of Fred Davis, for whom I could not decide what team might pursue him)
- I went into the draft hoping to find a logical trade partner for the Jaguars to trade down with. What ensued was a trading down fest for the Jaguars. I honestly feel each scenario for the Jaguars to trade in is entirely feasible, and so somewhere through the first round I decided to see how many reasonable trade downs the Jaguars could make, and how many picks they could accumulate. As for the specifics of the trades, I used various symbols for each trade. I hope it is relatively easy to follow.
- You likely will notice some players going much lower or higher than you might expect. That is most likely due to me having a very different board than most people. There is also a small possibility(as in one or two players) that I like but feel like teams will view less favorably.
- By Round 7, I got a bit "sloppy" and found myself accidentally addressing a single need twice or even 3 times for a given team. I tried my best to make fixes, but things might have gotten a bit screwed up after Round 4. I do apologize if I messed stuff up in the later rounds.(***EDIT: I just was looking over the draft and Pittsburgh is one team I might have royally screwed in my sloppiness. I do apologize)
- I prefer not to get any of "If player X is there at pick #__ Team Y won't pass on them"- you do not know that and I have already gotten that for one team and two different players who likely will both be available when that team is picking in Round 1
- ****EDIT: Based on some comments already made: I really did a quick run though major free agents. It is entirely possible your team is active even if not indicated. There are a lot of FA left. I also did a lot of these based on teams with the most cap room getting the most guys.
Here it goes(it is quite long so it is going after the jump)

I'd be very content with this Jets draft.
Stuff I like, stuff I dont like. But still, very nice job, this looks like it must have taken a lot of time and effort. Definitely rec’d!
Don't really mind the Giant trade
but they’re really not one of these stupid teams that trade their future picks…or really any picks in general.
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
Same. I'd rather keep the pick than make that trade.
My Re-Mock for the Giants:
1) Mark Barron, SS
2) Reuben Randle, WR
3) Michael Brewster, OC
4) Michael Egnew, TE
5) Marcus Forston, DT
6) Brandon Lindsey, DE
7) Tanner Hawkinson, OT
We haven’t really traded up too much at all, and Jerry Reese has said he’d rather sit and let players fall to him. That being said, if we DID do this, I wouldn’t be too pissed at all. Nice job. Rec’d for the effort and time.

I like all of the M's
Should have went all M’s. I think Randle is getting pushed too high, Lindsey has no athletic ability, and I’m faily sure Hawkinson stayed in school.
My QB has 2 rings. Well, 3 if you want to get technical.
2012 NYG mock - 1: Dwayne Allen TE, 2: Brandon Boykin CB/RS, 3: A.J. Jenkins WR, 4: Vick Ballard RB, 5: Neiko Thorpe S, 6: Rishard Matthews WR/RS, 6: Blake DeChristopher G/T, 7: BPA

Rolle is pretty much the highest-paid safety in football
He’s just not worth the money compared to the other free agents we have to sign, such as Phillips in 2013. There’s no way the Giants spend 10% of their cap on the safety position.

this.
rolle needs to give back some of his cash in future years. (restrucsture)
he hasnt played to where he is paid.
we pay for your play, not your big mouth way.
i kinda like rolle, but he talks to much and doesnt walk at the speed of his mouth

True
But Barron and Dwayne Allen in one draft…it’d be nice. Though of course we all know Reese gets max value out of a max number of picks, so I wouldn’t mind either way.
I don't mind it either
Barron may not be a great Giants-type player in that he lacks the physical gifts that made Phillips a #1. But I’m already predicting Rolle is gone in 2013 and maybe this leaves the door open to losing KP if he gets an impossible offer to match.
However, I’ll copy my comment from a post a few days ago: The last time we did not take two guys from the Dline, WR, or CB in the first three rounds was in 2004 when we picked Manning, and traded away our 3rd. It’s all about positional value. And that is lacking here.
My QB has 2 rings. Well, 3 if you want to get technical.

jets aren't very busy in the FA market
i think we also get the jags 7th round pick for the lowery trade .
on the draft itself i think Lance Lewis is a bad choice to replace Plax . we need a wr earlier than the 7th round and well before a QB and ILB . the first 3 picks are just ok but the rest of the jets draft is nothing special

Re-do your draft with the assumptions that Buffalo will not trade any picks.

As a bills fan
I would not want to see my team trading away a third round pick to move up three spots, when they could have instead traded down with Chicago to pick up two. Especially when there would be talent like Michael Floyd, Alfonso Dennard, and Mike Adams available down there.
Also, no way we get rid of Johnson, replace him with Manningham, a tight end, and a slot receiver. It’s like you want us to run the wing-t!

Have to agree with my fellow Bills fans
While I don’t hate the picks, Buffalo is not trading up (doesn’t happen). Also – I have to love your enthusiasm as a Jags fan (c’mon…we’re Bills fans, man. Have not sniffed the playoffs in a decade) but there is no way Jax gets Stevie. However…I’ll wager a buck that Buffalo will make a play for Mincey.
packers
seriously, the packers are not going to draft a rb before round 5. someday this reality will sink in. there is some talent at the position with starks and green, a guy was just drafted last year high, and there are more pressing questions to the roster like interior oline or safety…both of which should provide better value in the third.

But getting Jared Crick in the late-2nd is a steal.
If Pats don’t get Cox, I’m hoping they get Crick,
It is what it is
gotta agree
Other than the running back i would say that is one of the better ways that draft could turn out for us. Just about every position of need is addressed in some manner and we dont do it with a massive reach. One thing I think bodes well for at least your first two rounds, Ted Thompson is BPA all the way, and those guys I think are the BPA at that point in that draft.
Good job.

Like the first round. Second round love it except for the CB pick. BB will trade back to get some more later round picks use one of those on corner. replace jonhson with a center. Third round need a FS there. Fourth is complete crap. We are completely set at MLB. Either another FS to creat a competition in training camp because we have pretty much no good FS on our roster or another OLB or another

Pats
I love it, but NE will address Safety in either FA or draft or both. Most likely FA. They have 0 talent after SS Patrick Chung.
You got the 1st round on the mark. After falling for Brockers, I’m falling for Cox(don’t tell my girl, she might misunderstand!). The SEA trade makes sense, although I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a 2012 3rd rounder instead of a 2nd. Depends on the demand for the 31st pick.
I love Quick and Branch in the 2nd round, but no so much on CB Leonard Johnson in the mid-2nd unless he has a ridiculous Combine/Proday. Pats are if anything too young in the secondary. C Ben Jones is still available and would be an upgrade/longterm solution for that position, addressing a need unlike the CB position. WR Juron Criner is also available, and I’m betting on the Pats getting 2 WRs in this draft given the depth and the fact that Lloyd/Welker are both over 30. Pats have been drafting in pairs recently, with TEs in 2010 and RBs in 2011. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see #63 dealt away.
For the third, I don’t see the Pats doubling-up at DE/OLB. If they got Branch in the mid-2nd this isn’t a priority at all for them. If C Michael Brewster is avalable and Jones is gone, Brewster I think is real value at the late-3rd.
For the 4th, ILB is really not a need at all for talent or youth. Pats got 3 starting-calibre ILBs. If anything this is a pick to get some value/depth at maybe DB or G.
It is what it is
All I gotta say is...
Props on this entire post. Not only did you do 7 rounds, but all those FA’s? Great, great work man.
Not bad for Baltimore either, although I would prefer Sanu, Barron, Jeffrey or Hightower over Burfict in the first. Need to find a center also, so Brewster might be a good option in the 2nd.
Great work though man.
"Picture Me Rollin"
And I would very upset if Pittsburgh had this draft.
1. Mike Adams
1. Sanu
2. Ta’amu
3. Joe Adams
4. Tank Carder
5. Mike Martin
6. Paige-Moss
7. Robert Blanton
That’s the best draft of all 32 teams by far.

There are no guarantees with UDFAs. The 3 best kickers in the draft could sign elsewhere and the Steelers would be stuck with a 7th round guy that probably gets cut anyway.

but i do understand where you are coming from. I did consider drafting a kicker with your 7th rounder but I ultimately chose against it.

Just saying, 7th round picks aren't that valuable
2010 – Doug Worthington – Cut
2009 – David Johnson – made 53, still on team
2009 – A.Q. Shipley – Cut
2007 – Dallas Baker – made the team only in 08, suited only 8 times, 1 rec
2006 – Cedric Humes – went on IR, cut next season
2005 – Noah Heron – PS, signed by Packers
2004 – Eric Taylor – PS, cut next year
I really don’t think there is value in any 7th rounder. It’s rare enough that they make the 53 man roster and nearly unheard of to have a significant impact. That’s why I just think it makes more sense to get the kicker and get it done with.

I’d be ok with this as a Cards fan, but not ecstatic. I really like either Kelemete or Irvin in the 3rd round, especially Kelemete. Grabbing 2 pieces of a future Oline would be fantastic. That being said, I wouldn’t mind a WR there either.

No way you trade up in the first round of the draft to get a center 2 spots up. No way does this meet the value of the player… consider the fact that he hasn’t even played one full season yet because of injury and it makes it even MORE questionable. Staying put and selecting Mike Adams is the far clear and away best choice
if everyone looks at what people mock to Detroit it looks like a self destruct button was pushed.
based on this draft best possible picks would be for Detroit
Mike Adams
Trumaine Johnson
Bruce Irvin

Cardinals
1. The offensive line is the #1 need, and getting a tackle like Martin at #13 would satisfy me enough.
2. --
3. Givens isn’t exactly the burner the Cards are looking for opposite Fitz, he is more of a slot receiver.
4. I honestly cannot find any scouting reports on Josh Robinson, but even so, the Cards DO NOT have a need at CB (unless they don’t end up re-signing Richard Marshall). They have Toler returning along with Petersen and Jefferson (and hopefully Marshall).
5. Jerry Franklin would most likely play OLB in a 34 defense, and since he is not that big of a pass-rush threat, is not what AZ would be looking for at the position.
6. Maze is a little faster than Givens (not by a whole lot), but again, profiles as more of a slot receiver. The Cards will be looking for a real burner to stretch the field on the outside.
7. Jaye Howard probably isn’t big enough to play NT in a 34 defense, and the Cards have pretty decent depth at the DE positions at this point.
I give you props for the 7 rounder, they are never easy to complete. But if you revise it, pay more attention to the defenses teams run, and find players that will fit into that scheme. And specifically for the Cards, the needs are OT, #2 speed WR, OG, 34 rush OLB, NT/DL depth, SS.

fantastic draft for the Panthers
very much liking it, especially for Matt Reynolds late – he’s got great potential. Derek Wolfe is also great value
I really hate the Texans draft
1st – Michael Floyd,WR Notre Dame – Too many off field issues with alcohol. Texans won’t even consider him. They’ll choose between Sanu or Jeffery instead
2nd – Kevin Zeitler, OG Wisconsin – With Ta’amu coming off the board, I could see this happening
3rd – George Iloka, S Boise State – Safety is not that big of an issue to use a 3rd pick on. They’ll take Jake Bequette instead to add some depth behind Barwin & Reed with Mario leaving
Note – I really can’t see Mario signing with Tennessee. Someone will offer more than they can afford like the Bucs, Chiefs, Bengals, or Jets. On the other hand, either he’ll stay with the Texans or he’ll go to another legitimate contender for less, like the Patriots or Packers. He’s more concerned with winning than money
4th – Jordan White, WR Western Michigan – No way they take another WR if Chapman is still on the board at this point
5th – Nicolas Jean-Baptiste, NT Baylor – With getting Chapman in the 4th, they won’t need a NT here. Adding Derek Wolfe as a 3-4 DE to the defensive line will make the inside pass rush more dangerous
6th – Bryan Anger, P California – They don’t need a punter. They’ll bring back Bret Hartmann. His ACL tear was in his plant leg, so it shouldn’t affect his kicking power. Before then, he showed enough to prove he was more than capable to handle the job. David Molk this late in the draft would be a steal for the Texans
7th – Adrien Cole, ILB Louisiana Tech – Bobby Rainey is a potential sleeper pick, & would fit in as the Texans #3 RB & their KR specialist. Besides, Wade has a knack for finding undrafted linebackers

Tennessee has lots of cap space
So Williams is within their reach, especially since it means stealing from a division rival.

But Tennessee isn't a contender, Mario wants to win now, & he wants to stay in Houston if they can make it work
"I’m not worried about that," Williams said Thursday. "It’s really not that big of a deal to me. I was the first pick (in 2006), and I’ve already had everything I really wanted, so my biggest thing is to be in a good position, a good scheme, a good system and continuing my career. Hopefully, it works out.
"It’s always important to be in a position to be successful. That comes with teammates around you, coaching, having that winning attitude. You want to (play) where you can thrive no matter where you are."

"It’s football, and it’s business. I’ve been focused on getting healthy. Coach Kubiak — and I love coach Kubiak to death — told me after the season that it’s a process and let it play itself out, and that’s what I’ve been doing."
Either he’ll stay in Houston, or he’ll leave to go to another Super Bowl contender

And the last time a player in his prime took half salary to go to a contender is....
As he said, “it’s business”. His agent will tell him to take the money, and if he wants to play for a contender, do it on his next contract when the money he’s giving up will be a lot less.

Nnamdi Asomugha
He ended up with a contract similar to Dunta Robinson (which he’s vastly superior to), mainly because he lost his leverage when the Texans signed Johnathan Joseph. He ended up losing out on anywhere from 10 to 15 million dollars over 5 years from what the Texans were offering (roughly 14-15 million a year). Of course we all know how that turned out. Now that’s not half his salary, but that’s still a lot of money he passed on

My QB has 2 rings. Well, 3 if you want to get technical.
2012 NYG mock - 1: Dwayne Allen TE, 2: Brandon Boykin CB/RS, 3: A.J. Jenkins WR, 4: Vick Ballard RB, 5: Neiko Thorpe S, 6: Rishard Matthews WR/RS, 6: Blake DeChristopher G/T, 7: BPA
Robinson's contract was 5 years for $57 Million, which is only a $3 Million difference

Correction, 6 years
Essentially it’s still the same amount of money, just spread out over one more year. The fact still is he was still offered $14-15 Mil a year from Houston, & the Texans got tired of waiting on him to make a decision. Joseph’s agent came in & said give us your best offer & Joseph accepted it right away. He screwed himself over trying to get more money from the Jets when they didn’t have the cap room to do it. The fact of the matter still is he ended up taking less from a team that he thought was in a better position to win over the team that offered him the most money. Back to my original point, I think Mario Williams will be making that same kind of decision, by either sticking with the Texans or going to a legitimate contender

Terrible for Bears
Not knocking the draft as a whole because I appreciate the work, but as a Bears fan it looks bad. The Bears have come out and said that they plan on being active in free agency but the only activity you had them doing was tagging Forte. That will probably happen but I can see them being bigger players in free agency.
Also, I hate the trading up for Blackmon. I know he is the greatest prospect in the draft but the front office has also made it clear they want somebody that is bigger than what they have now. Blackmon is barely taller than any receiver currently on the roster. Most people seem to agree that they will probably go after a FA WR and either trade down or address another whole w/ the 19th pick.

Bengals
3rd round pick is good don’t know if he’ll still be there though
1a Konz
1b Gilmore
2 Doug Martin
3 Josh Robinson
4 Derek Wolfe
5a Andrew Datko
5b Marquis Maze
6 TJ Graham
7 Kelsie McKray SS
I've been waiting to see how long it would take Merciless to move up draft boards
If he has a great combine I could see the Bengals drafting him, but right now 17 is pretty high. Then Dennard at 21? Haven’t we established that he’s not really a first round pick yet? Martin would be a better pick in the 2nd than Polk. I like the Meachem signing though. That would be a solid pickup.

Haven’t we established that he’s not really a first round pick yet?
explain please.
-Size? not GREAT but 5’10 is good enough for a first round CB
-Speed? Definitely
-Overall talent? Definitely. Was dominant a times(pretty much shut out Marvin McNutt and BJ Cunningham who are two very good college receivers)
What about him is undeserving of first round worth? I mean if Prince Amukamara was 1st round worthy last year, to call Dennard not worthy of a first round grade is silly.

If you want him in the first, by all means take him.
But there’s a handful of CBs I’d rather have including Gilmore, Minnifield and maybe even Hayward. I wouldn’t take Dennard in the first because I don’t think he’ll be a difference maker in the NFL. He’s really not great at anything, but good at a lot of things – sort of a low risk, low reward pick. That makes him a #2 CB at best in my book and a 2nd rounder at the highest.
by Animal_Like_Football on Feb 23, 2012 5:47 PM EST up reply actions
so the fact that he is good at everything and great at nothing
makes him not worth a first round pick? I feel like that is counter intuitive. You want guys that have very few(if any) weaknesses, and this guy is good in just about every aspect of the game and yet that makes him NOT worth a first round pick. Confusing!!

I think you're fighting a losing battle
I’m not saying he is or he isn’t but there are very few boards that have him going that high in the first. Add on to that the Mercilus pick (not a glaring need, and there are a few on the team, along with what some people consider skills that won’t translate) and this just looks to be a tough draft to swallow for Bengals fans.
Props for a 7 rounder though.
Try not to take the above message too seriously.
+1 on everything einman said
Props on the 7 rounder and all, but you’re going against most conventional wisdom here. You plcked Mercillus 15 spots higher than most. You picked Dennard a round higher than most are placing him. You picked Polk higher than I’ve seen him drafted in other mocks. Washington was a good pick. So was Reyes. The draft wasn’t a total loss. But there’s a couple we’ll have to agree to disagree on.

The Bucs draft is not inspiring
You don’t have us grabbing a CB in free agency? You know our GM has said we’ll be big players this year? You know we’re losing our top 2 CBs? You know even if we weren’t losing those top 2, we STILL needed a CB? And you have us only taking Gilmore, a project CB, with no free agents?
There is no way this is how the offseason shakes out for us. No way.
I mean AT LEAST take Norman for us in round 3 so we can replace our leaving CBs
That would still be terrible with 2 projects starting, but throw us a bone or something.
Honestly, there is no way we come out of free agency without a good corner.
And the only FA you got for us is Reggie Wayne?
Are you fricking kidding me? This is the sort of offseason that gets a GM fired.
And even with picking up a FA WR you still draft us a WR in the third?
And no linebackers in free agency or the draft until round 7?
Anyway, sorry about all this hate. I know a 7 rounder with free agency is hard work and believe it or not I appreciate it, but I’d be absolutely disgusted if this is how our offseason went.
Steelers
If they lost Mike Wallace, I’d be happy with those first 2 rounds, but after there I can tell you don’t really know the Steelers needs.
Their 3rd round pick would be a waste after getting Sanu. I’d much rather see Audie Cole or a G there.
4th is fine.
5-7 you have to get at least one G and a K.

Jets
You had me until round 5 brotha. Then the wheels fell off. Why are we taking a QB in round 5? Makes no sense. Ride out Sanchez and if he tanks, tank the season and get into the top 10 next year.
Give me Gerelll Robinson, Datko, Kendricks or Terrell Manning there.
Nope Sorry
As a Rams fan, this would not work at all. No way we let Blackmon go if he is on the board. We also need a replacement at LT, and a change up back to supplement SJax.
I refuse to maintain the argument that a WR is worth a top 10 selection. I have a good feeling Blackmon might not even be perceived as the number 1 receiver in this draft post-combine. Claiborne is MUCH better value and still addresses a need.

Let me start by saying that I would hate to lose Wallace. That being said this draft would be the draft to make it all better.
Mike Adams and Sanu are both great fits assuming Adams has his act together.
The only change I might suggest is that in the second, instead of Ta’amu, Zeitler or Bobby Wagner, but that’s just me. I think the Steelers FO would be partying in the War room if Ta’amu was there at 54. The Joe Adams pick would only happen if they cut both Ward and Cotchery but unfortunately, it’s not unthinkable.
I gotta vote 5/5 for how happy I’d be with this mock. Best one I’ve seen this year. Well done sir.

Redskins
This is a very different mock for us. It’s interesting. I like Reiff, Toon is OK I guess. I don’t know much about him. I read several reports from the senior bowl where the ‘Skins staff spent a lot of time with Criner.
I like Orson Charles, but I doubt the Redskins draft him. I’d expect Fred Davis to be back, whether he’s franchised or signed to a 1-year deal. Foles in the 4th is interesting as well. Shanny had a chance to work with Foles and Weeden at the senior bowl, so the decision there will be something to keep an eye on.
Browns
So you are saying that Cleveland will not sign any quality FA’s to go along with giving up two first rounders for a QB? Why go and give up so much for a QB and not improve the WR’s and OL. That’s just not a feasible thing to do and properly use the talent right. Not to mention, Cleveland isnt in CAP hell like some other teams out there, so there’s plenty of money to get quality free agents. Kudo’s for doing a 7 round mock.

Two first rounders is nothing for a drastic improvement in QB. I agree that we’ll probably be more active in FA than he has us, but it’s not necessary. Our receivers aren’t as bad as their reputation, and an actual NFL-quality QB would go leaps and bounds to improving their production. QBs make wide receivers, not the other way around. As far as the oline, ours was better than about half the playoff teams, and younger, so it’s also not even 1/10 as high a need as QB.
Get RGIII = Finally relevant in the NFL.
www.lowbrowsophisticate.com
We should be very active in free agency, and if it turns out that we aren’t, the front office will deservedly take a boat load of heat. Your semantics on QB’s & WR’s couldn’t be more than wrong. I give you one example – Jerry Rice – without him Montana & Young would not have been half as effective. The work more in a simbiotic way, and if either side is weak, then your gonna suck. We don’t have the WR’s to match with Luck or Griffin, and they’d be busy dumping the ball off constanly, due to the right offensive line dropping the blocks way to early.
Those playoff teams had good o lines to go with good WR’s & QB’s. We get the O line & WR’s addressed in free agency, then go on ahead and move up for the potential franchise QB. the #4 & #37th should be enough to move up two spots.

If we lose Colston, and it looks more and more like we will every day, AND don’t replace him in FA (I’m looking at you, Vincent Jackson. Follow your ex-Charger brethren to the Promised Land), there is NO CHANCE IN HELL we draft a 5’10 receiver who will specialize in kick returns. We already have Darren Sproles as a great returner, and Lance Moore won’t be bumped out of his slot position for a 3rd round rookie.
Drew Brees- the REAL MVP.
Panthers
A lot of outsiders see a WR opposite Smith as a huge need, but we have a couple #2 level guys already who are likely just as good as the guys who are not first round talent. With that said though, they would likely jump on Blackmon in a heartbeat if he fell, and he would not slide past the Panthers in the first.

well you probably shouldve put that
where he signs will dictate how at least 5 or so teams approach free agency/draft… he is the biggest available free agent on the market and the one with the biggest impact hands down
Cowboys
First, let me say great job. You clearly put a lot of time and effort into this and it shows.
I just have some observations for the Cowboys. I’m not the biggest fan, but from what I have read and seen in mocks, these are some changes I think you could make.
1 – Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama
2 – Ronnell Lewis OLB/DE Oklahoma
3 – Trevor Guyton DE/DT California
4 – Philip Blake C Baylor
5 – Brandon Taylor S Louisiana State
6 – Desmond Wynn G Rutgers
7 – Case Keenum QB Houston
Janoris Jenkins is probably a good pick with David DeCastro and Kirkpatrick gone. Although his past might be an issue, I don’t think that will keep the Cowboys from taking a chance on him.
Ronnell Lewis pick depends a lot on if we tag Anthony Spencer. Since you didn’t mention it, I assume this is what we do. At 6’2", 244 – he can’t play DE in our 3-4 and would be behind Ware, Spencer, and competing with last year’s second rounder, Bruce Carter. Ben Jones, Alameda Ta’amu, Kevin Zeitler, or maybe Jared Crick might be better suited for that pick (assuming we tag Spencer).
Trevor Guyton isn’t a bad pick, especially since he is coming out of the 3-4. Since interior line is a real need and you show we don’t acquire one is FA, I’d say we move sooner than the fourth to address it. Consider Brewster, Brandon Washington, Bruce Irvin, or Brandon Brooks.
If we have addressed guard by this point Philip Blake might stay there, but I have seen a lot of chatter about the Cowboys going after a vet center in FA, so they might pass and address DE-OLB or S here. Travis Lewis, Tank Carder, or maybe even Josh Chapman are options. But I think Blake could fit unless you grab a Center earlier.
At this point in the draft, if the cowboys have altered their first four rounds, there is no telling what changes they would make. You did a great job in addressing positions of need, though I see the order a bit differently. You must have spent hours and hours with this. Awesome job.
Nice Job
Seven Rounds is a lot of work, well done. For the Redskins I like most of the picks, a couple I disagree with but over all a good draft & FA signing. As far as FA goes tho, they have a lot of cash & I think that they end up with more than V-Jax. Rec.d
Colts
only pick I have a problem with is Billy Winn. The Colts have enough of those type (3 or 5 techs) already. Moala and Nevis under contract and Foster, Anderson and Brayton they can re-sign any of for cheap. Don’t expect a DT early unless it’s someone who can play NT in a 3-4 look.
Choke/Clutch is the fetishization of the small sample size.

Jags
Who wouldn’t be happy loading up with picks like that?
And the elephant in the room…Jags take Weeden?
And “I Feel Good” about James Brown.
I obviously like the the Weeden pick
My thinking is that the fact is that the Jaguars need a good backup QB, and believe it or not I really like what Weeden could bring to that role. He is going to be a much more mature rookie since he is already 28 years old, and he is quite talented.
He also was a prospect for my beloved NY Yankees, so that is a plus in my book.

I don’t think any Jags fan has blind eyes to the improvements that Gabbert needs to make, but saying his motion is disgusting is showing that you actually have not watched him play very much. Gabbert has a very good motion – his arm strength and motion are what had him so high in the draft last year. It was assumed he needed to mature, and improve under center, but no one should question his arm strength and motion.

Chargers-- overall, not a good draft
1. Nick Perry— That’s the pick I had. I think it seems reasonable, especially with ex-USC defensive coordinator Joe Perry signing on as the new linebackers coach.
2. Juron Criner— Nope, AJ Smith is a stickler for “character” and Criner has too much baggage off the field. Brian Quick makes more sense here in this situation; however, if Coby Fleener falls they’ll pounce on him.
3. Casey Hayward— Seems unlikely that they’ll take a corner early. Quentin Jammer is not moving to strong safety, as was rumored early on, and you’ve still got Antoine Cason plus the two corners (Wright and Gilchrist) they drafted high last year. Brandon Washington is a better pick, as Kris Dielman’s career is drawing to a close and they’ll need to start grooming a successor.
4. Brandon Mosley— Assuming Jared Gaither is re-signed (and he’s a top priority, according to rumors creeping out of the front office), tackle isn’t a need. Chris Rainey could be drafted here instead of the fifth.
5. Chris Rainey— Fills a need for the Bolts, but he could be gone earlier than the mid-fifth round. If the Chargers miss out on Fleener, they’re likely to pursue Michael Egnew.
6. Rishaw Johnson— He’ll be lucky to be drafted. Expect them to pick up a quarterback they can bring along under Philip Rivers, as the current #2 (Billy Volek) is getting pretty old. My money’s on GJ Kinne or Dan Persa.
7. Rhett Ellison— They could go with two tight ends, but Ellison just isn’t that good. If they do, it’ll probably be a mismatch-creating pass-catcher like Josh Chichester; otherwise, another linebacker makes more sense. I notice you don’t have Miles Burris on your board, he’d be a good pick.

McNutt’s OK sorta also but not my favourite choice there with David Wilson still available. And then it seems that, yep, you really DO have your own big board! I wouldn’t go for this draft but props for going 7 rounds.
