Robert Griffin III steals the NFL Combine media session
Despite deciding not to throw, Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III is already stealing the show at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
Of note, and after much questioning by the media, Griffin showed off Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles socks. He vowed to stop wearing Hello Kitty socks if whatever team drafts him asks. He repeatedly let everyone know his official height is 6-foot-2 3/8. He said he has plans to meet with the Browns and Chiefs.
But eventually Griffin got down to serious football matters. Namely, he was defending the Baylor offense and his playing style.
The Heisman Trophy winner made it a point to say the offense typically goes through three reads before he targets the check down option. The only time Griffin lost his smile during the 15-minute session was when someone mentioned an analyst said the Baylor offense was "simple."
"I’d like to sit down with ‘em and show ‘em how simple it is, Griffin said. "It’s not a simple offense. It’s a really great offense and it’s a quarterback-friendly offense. Simple would not be the word to describe it."
Griffin also tackled the misconception that he makes more plays with his feet than his arm.
"I think it’s just a misconception that comes with being a dual-threat quarterback," Griffin said Friday. "You’re run first, throw second.
"I think I’ve proven I’m throw first, then run if I need to."
Now Griffin just wants one team, whether its the Browns, Dolphins, Seahawks or Redskins, to draft him.
"I hope somebody falls in love with me other than my fiancé," Griffin said. "That’s what you want. As a player you want a team that really wants you.
"I’m looking forward to making somebody fall in love with me."

Sorry Robert, the offense you played in IS a problem.
That’s why we’re not talking about drafting Case Keenum or Brandon Weeden in the first.
This is completely short sighted. Hope NFL front offices think like this though (except the Browns)

but were we talking about drafting Sam Bradford in the first?
Cam Newton? Yes? No? Maybe?
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
That's funny...
Cuz Brandon Weeden may very well go in the first.

your completely wrong
3 of the top 5 quarterbacks in NFL history came from a spread oriented system Drew Brees also came from a spread…NO merit too this statement at all. Reason why some don’t like spread quarterbacks is because of lazy evaluations… do your homework and it becomes irrelevant… fact
Myth Buster by nature. I don't confront you i encourage you to think. Because your brillance in your own way helps everyone. Your opinion matters and I will listen to it. Good clean healthy debate is fun.

I’ve got to know who you think those 3 and those 5 are.
I’ve got to know who you think those 3 and those 5 are
Cam Newton
Andy Dalton
Sam Bradford
These make up 3 of the top 5 rookie quarterback seasons in the history of the NFL no question.

it has nothing to do with the system
We’re talking RG3 in round 1 because of his talent.

I am responding to above poster saying his system is a problem. This is the context of my responds

Nah, age is why people aren't considering Weeden in the first.
If you take a player with the same profile and make-up as Weeden and put it into a 21-year-old’s body, would you draft him in the first?
"It’s time people started realizing just how good a player Carlos Dunlap already is, and that starts with the Bengals. They gave him a season-high 58 snaps and what was the result? Carnage on the right side of the Seattle line." -Pro Football Focus

wait that makes no sense...
And when we win, we want to dominate. We want to take guys out. We want to hurt guys. We want to win. We just want to dominate, hit them in the mouth. - Rathman

You obviously haven't seen RG3 play then
In the first round and on the "third day"—rounds 4-7, the Cowboys draft as well as anyone. But, ohh, those awful second and third rounds. A gallery of horrors…

starting to buy in
I gotta say I’m starting to buy in to rg3. anyone else like the idea of rg3 and LeMicheal James? I dare Pittsburgh to blitz with that combo. James reminds me of westbbrook.

I really like both Luck and RG3
I’m glad Luck won’t be in the NFC East facing Dallas twice a season. I really hope the Browns take him, that franchise needs some positive vibes. RG3 will be a game changer for them. Plus if the Browns trade up tp get him, it ensures either St Louis or Minnesota is guaranteed to still get Blackmon or Kalil. If they trade with the Redskins, bad for Dallas, and bad for either St Louis or Minnesota, as one of them will likely lose out on the best WR and the best LT in this draft.
