2012 Players All-Star Classic Preview and T.V. Schedule
The first annual Players All-Star Classic is set to take place this afternoon in Arkansas. It is far from the most prestigious of All-Star showcases, but there will be a handful of decent prospects on display, and hey, it's football.
The game will be divided between North and South squads, featuring players from all levels of college football. Action gets under way at 4 p.m. eastern time, and a full list of television availability for the game can be found here.
Among the most promising prospects in Little Rock this weekend are Richmond quarterback Aaron Corp and Missouri defensive end Jacquies Smith. Smith had a strong week of practice, according to Alex Brown of Optimum Scouting. The Missouri pass rusher hopes to parlay a productive final season into a mid-round draft selection.
In terms of quarterbacks at the Players All-Star Classic, there may not be a ton of promise, but Richmond's Aaron Corp is an interesting one to watch. He has a quick release and goes through his progression's quickly. Corp is a guy who would make a terrific late round selection as a developmental backup quarterback.
This game marks the last event before prospects gather for the scouting combine in late February. Enjoy it.
